SECRET SKETCH - Quick digital sketch with colour
Welcome in July! 😊
Here’s a quick drawing I made today after going back from work. I feel very inspired so maybe I’ll draw even more - the day isn’t over! 😄
Sketch was made in Procreate app with these 3 brushes:
• ‘Eaglehawk’ - for first 2 layers and searching of proportions
• ‘Dry ink’ - for some strong, black lines
• ‘Procreate pencil’ - for hatc...

In this tutorial you can find: list of brushes (for painting and blending), explanation about easy way to paint light spots, tips about reference photos and whole step by step process of my artwork.
(This is not the only proper way of digital painting - this is how I do it ☺️)

I got a suggestion from my Patron that I can show you my work as a sport apparel designer. I think it’s a great idea because it’s a huge part of my creative work.
This is running collection for women from AW18 season designed for the biggest Polish sport brand - 4F.
If you’ll be interested I can show you more of my work (ski jackets, yoga wear, training apparel and many more) 😊 I have also some concept sketches to show you.
Let me know what you think!

Here are some stuff that I’ve learned so far about watercolors. (Before I was painting with them in childhood and I didn’t know any rules).
You can see reference photos I used to make some simple sketches, few useful techniques and list of my art supplies 😊

As you can see I’ve changed names of the tiers to levels (there will be 4 because from June 1st I’m adding physical rewards!).
I decided to make icons with my favorite field flowers 🌸 . They are painted in Procreate with the same rules as the rock studies from last post 🤗

I’ve been practicing a lot of very quick environment studies lately. I want to be able to draw whole sceneries for my stories in the future. I‘m trying to catch the impression of each object, not the realistic side of a picture.
First I started with whole landscapes but I found it too difficult. Then I saw rock studies of Lois van Baarle (Loish) and some 2020-05-30 11:41:45 +0000 UTC View Post
I don’t usually draw frontal view portraits - I think they’re less interesting to look at. Also they remind me criminal records 😂 This was a sketch made just for practice. Symmetry was especially tricky because the face on reference photo wasn’t perfectly symmetrical 🤷♀️ Paper is with delicate structure so not my favorite but any paper is good enough for practice 😉

I found piece of bristol paper and realized I missed it a lot. This smooth surface is great for precise crosshatching with mechanical pencil. I forgot about it because my current sketchbook is mixed media so it’s better for shading.
I took pictures of the whole process so you can see it step by ste.
I added also a tip about 70/30 rule that I use a lot in my art.
Thank you for being here! 😊

Here’s the explanation of crosshatching based on my way of drawing. Attached you’ll find also line art drawing on which you can practice your hatching (or shading, or coloring if you prefer 😊). Let me know if it’s helpful and if you would like me to add more posts like this one.

Hello Patrons,
I want to give you an update on some changes that we’ll be seeing which may affect some of your pledges.
Due to new laws passing in several countries and US states, Patreon will be required to start charging sales tax on some pledges starting July 1st.
Less than half of all patrons will be charged sales tax, and for most, the amount will be very small. For example, sales tax rates in the US range from 4% to 11%, so on a $5 pledge, t...

This rule is essential for every type of color art, no matter if it’s traditional or digital, with pencil crayons, Photoshop or watercolor. Your art will be more professional and dimensional when you’ll learn to see this way 🧡

I have a feeling that I change something in my art on daily basis. I’m trying so many things right now that I feel kinda lost. It gives me a lot of fun and I learn many things but I also have some inner pressure & desire to make everything perfect. (Even though I do these things for the first time! So how can they be perfect?!)
I feel like this girl right now. I dunno who or what she’s fighting but I need to struggle everyday with my impatience & desire to b...

For a few last days I’m drawing a lot but in different way that I used to.
I realized that drawing everything in realistic manner takes too much time that I would normally use for character development, environment study and whole illustration around it. Realistic style is time consuming and very specific - if you do anything wrong, it’s very visible for everyone. I think that I focused too much on details and proportions to get everything right.

Here’s a very quick and very helpful tip about digital art (no matter what software you’re using). It‘s probably a tip for the beginners but I didn’t know about it for a long time so maybe it will be helpful for you too 😊🍀

Cats are one of my favorite themes to draw 🐈
They’re very elegant and flexible, they have unique characters and beautiful calmness that can be shown in artworks.
In this post you can see some of my cat sketches from 2019-20. All made with pencil.
I can see improvement compared to last year. I think now my sketches are less naive and more conscious. It’s very important to draw from nature, I think I learn faster when I draw my cat than when I draw from reference photos....
Here’s the promised time lapse video with explanation of how I draw noses 👃
I’ve never thought that I’ll say "noses" so many times in just one day 😂
Also sorry for my English - it’s not my first language but I hope you can understand me 😅

In next post I’ll show you a time lapse video of these sketches with some tips how to draw noses (or at least how I do it) 😊

I decided to try something new and I made a painting in Procreate but with brushes that I‘ve never used before:
★ Calligraphy brush called "Odeon" – for all the water/smoke lines
★ Luminance brush called "Flare" – for all the tiny lights
★ Painting brush called "Salamanca" – for the shading (I tried it before but only for blending)
Base is made as usually with "Nikko rull".
You can see also my REFERENCE PHOTOS.
