Light Attack Animation: Day 3

Hi everyone!

Head and hair added to the light attack.

In other news, I finally created a roadmap for the first public build. I expect to release it by the first week of April.

Unfortunately, it will still be in the early stages, but at least we will be able to play around, beat some of the first enemies (or lure them and do other stuff), hear some music, etc.

Oh, and that doesn't mean I'll only release a new build by April, I mean the public version only. 🤣

Light Attack Animation: Day 2

Hi y'all!

The body movement is complete for the light attack. Again: 2 attacks there, glued to it other in case the user press the button too quickly.

In the future I'll implement a third, more powerful kick, so this combo can have 3 attacks.

And for tomorrow's work: the head!

Planning for the light attack combo

Hello!

Here's the planning for the light attack combo. It contains 2 attacks, a spinned kick and if the player presses the attack button again, a punch.

This is just the first sketch. It always looks messy, but makes more sense in the end.

I"m still a bit unhappy by this end, maybe I'll make her knee bend during the punch.

Our First Poll: Next Animation

Hi to you all, lovely patrons! Is it time to decide which will be the next animation that I will work starting tomorrow.

Just a bit of explanation with all those animations and not much game coding right now: As I am a solo dev, I do all by my own: animation, coding, textures, etc. So everything takes time and as we (you all and me ❤️) are still in the early stages of the game, I need to focus on animation now before I can get back to coding and implement the action.

Timing fix for the animation

Hi again!

One more time fix. Now the kick has much more impact as the last version. I followed Luna Rainfell's suggestion and make it faster during the body rotation. Thanks!

And added more weight for the landing as well, as a suggestion from another pixel animator.

So I did a few small fixes to enhance the impact during the kick. And I saved as video this time because I felt that the gif version was messing with timing.

First Attack Animation: Done

Hi!

The first attack animation is finally over. I'm still having a hard time thinking about whether I really should accelerate it or not and how this can affect gameplay. ( Let me know what you think!)

This animation has 33 frames, the biggest in the game yet. I know it's a lot but I like it. I believe I can continue making longer animations like that, that have smooth movement. I mean, when it is necessary of course.

That's it, boob physics, totally on par with reality. 🤣

But real question: Is it too jiggle in the end? I just finished and it looks cool to me, but I don't know... maybe I will only see if it is too exaggerated tomorrow.

First Attack animation

Hello y'all!

Here's the wip of the first attack animation. As you noticed, still no head, boobs or clothing.

The first step of every humanoid animation is to define legs, then body and arms. It facilitates a lot when we have that defined.

As this animation is taking so so long, I decided to share with you all this process. I will still take a couple of days for each missing part: head, boobs and clothing.

Dragotaur: Idle animation

Hi people!

I ended up modifying a bit more of the face as I wasn't satisfied with the first version. I choose a more 'bad boy' look for him.

Now this is the first animation, an idle. It helps me set the mood for this character.

Oh, and as you noticed, he has an animated dong. 🍆

Sabrina will have a simple interaction with it. Can you guess what will happen?

Definitely 2D

Hey!

So I did a small experimentation with front and back animations this weekend (missing head and boobs) and I didn't like it.

I feel that a lot is lost when dealing with small pixels, which would be much better with at least double the number of pixels.

So let's save this idea of a 3D game (it is actually called HD-2D) for a future game, shall we?

2D or 3D?

Hi everyone!

So I decided to give a bit of experimentation with 3D, like Octopath Traveler. I need to admit that I liked it, even having 0 environment assets!

I will add a couple new animations for this experiment and let you know.

2d looks like it fits perfectly.

3d I will still need to add a bit more stuff to properly judge.

First build: 0.0.0

Hi voyagers!

So here is the first build of the game, version 0.0.0. If you fall you need to reload the game to play again. 🤣 But hey, that's it for the first version EVER.

You will be able to only play for a 1min or so, to have the feeling of Sabrina moving around and all her animations to this point.
