Blitz

Right it's now 12:48pm on 30/05/2017 and I'm gonna blitz as much as is possible for Tales of a Succubus for you guys because tomorrow is my Birthday and I plan on enjoying myself.

That said my hobbies are the gym, coding, animating, reading etc so there is a high statistical probability that I'll still end up on here. More Immersion

Right so I've figured out the syntax and coding required to make it so that the characters in game will know if they have met you before, with different dialogue if they have.

I've played some visual novel games where they've only learned the simple coding so you start off being able to fuck eveything in sight and there is no challenge for the player, I don't want that so some characters will be tied into reputation, your choices in game etc. Now for a visual novel game that is quite good.

Alley Events Progress

Right so so far I have 7 Alley events coded into the game, they are at the image and dialogue stage so far and some need a video but I'm progressing, all of them have been tested for bugs as well so there shouldn't be anything wrong with them. (bug testing is a nightmare in some coding languages and for larger games is even worse! the code for this already is 5 pages worth! Luckily because it is Python based it will alert me to most (not all) bugs

On a side note my tinkering into HD has killed the lighting, used to be the lights actually gave out light and everything was dark now it's all light, I've uninstalled and even gone back to factory version and nothing is changing it so I will have to make do for now...

So I re-jigged and played with the graphics and textures some more and look at that!!!

Re-Texturing

So although I got the earlier resolution problem fixed and my video quality became better, I wasn't satisfied with that, now some of the previous works whilst nice and wonderful have a bit too much of 'cartoon' feel for me, so I set about trying to re-texture the character models into a more defined graphic rather than the pink or brown smooth skin that they all had. I think if you look at the above picture it is better if there is some shading and changes in skin tone, hence just look at Valia ...

So my 3rd video has now got more views than the 1st and 2nd! Plus it's currently at 14 likes and 1 dislike which is the most I've ever got.

Here is what to expect in Version 0.2 (5th June 2017):

Probability Mastered

Right so far with the Alley I've got the basic code for probability of an encounter laid in and the use of your energy as well, that was quick! I think I'm a little better at coding than animating perhaps?

Anyway to give you an idea of what I mean I've set the programming to roll a random number from 1 - 50 when you enter the area, if you roll 20 or less than 20 an event will happen, otherwise if you roll 21 or more it will say "Nothing is happening here".

It's a really basic coding but ...

Video Files Gone

Right so I've just gone to start remastering the intro videos and the files are gone. The programmed sequences aren't there which means starting over for them. What I'm going to do therefore because something has to be put out is I'm going to leave the 800 x 400 resolution videos in and make a start on doing the Alley area into the game.

I'd rather give you guys something rather than nothing.

Everything's So Shiny!

Well it works and I've ported over all my data files and security software so I now have a new laptop, it has the same resolution as my old one so expect the HD videos and It's ready to continue the project. It's actually in terms of specs better than my old laptop so hopefully this one won't have the GPU blow up. :-)

The only annoyance with it is I hate windows 10 and the screen is small. my old laptop had a massive screen and the lovely windows 7 (I remember windows 3.1!).

Further news

Got a new laptop yesterday, second hand but didnt come witha charger. I've ordered one for tomorrow i.e. Sunday. Providing everything works i should be up and running then. If not then i will let you know. One thing i will say is you guys are very loyal and i appreciate your patience in this. Thank you.

Update on last post

Managed to save my HDD with all my software files so 've got everything. Just need to use a laptop and i'm back up and running. :-)

Bad news guys

Right so i go to boot up my laptop this morning and black screen, okay so i try all the tricks i know and they are not working so right now i'm using my tablet to post this. I'm taking apart the laptop to see if if reseating the RAM will help, if not then i'll see about removin the HDD, plugging that into another laptop to get all my data back but....fear not the data for 'Tales of a Succubus' is on an external HDD so i can plug it into any laptop and i've still got it.
