In February of 1985, Steven Spielberg and George Lucas met at Spielberg's Office on the Universal Studios lot to discuss the possibility of a sequel to "A Christmas Carol." The previous year George C. Scott's version had been a big hit and Universal was looking for a big tent pole holiday blockbuster.

It was a landmark week with two guests we loved so much they named them thrice! Comedian Christina Catherine Martinez brought laughter and possibly whippet-induced tears, and returning favorite musician Christian Lee Hutson performed "After Hours" from his new album Paradise Pop. 10. We talked beef tallow, saw Joe Biden tribute the Gwateful Dead at the Kennedy Center Honors, and solved a Ronnie Wood mystery.

How Do You Do?

Hey friends, how was your Thanksgiving?

I had a good one. Early dinner at Captain Carlin's place... I am always in charge of the turkey so the day before I pick up my turkey (always a pre-brined Kosher bird) along with extra Turkey wings and necks to make a stock for the gravy.

The night before, I made turkey stock using the wings and neck. I also took the turkey out of the bag and cleaned it up so it could sit uncovered in the fridge overnight to dry it out.
