Final Version

I sent out the email for the final version. I'm posting the link here too because it seems like some people just aren't getting the email, but can download the ebook once they get the link. Here's what the email said:

Ok, as promised, here's the final version. Fixed typos (thanks to those who helped me in the chat!) and little tweaks to last two chapters (very subtle, nothing major).

Once again, I wanted to say thank you for being so supportive and patient...

Roth shifted his eyes from Amos Faulkner to her. His brows drew together in a forbidding frown. Another tear slipped down her cheek as grief surged up hot and fast. She spun away, swiping at her eyes with her sleeve, uncaring if she smeared what was left of her makeup. She had to get out of here before she fell apart and really made an ass of herself. She kept her head down as she made her way to the exit so no one would see her face.

When a hand gripped her arm and swung her around, sh...

Patreon moving forward/Ream

Hey guys!

I was going to post this in a couple of days, but some of you have already joined Ream because of the author's note at the end of the book, so I wanted to explain:

There are a few things going on with Patreon. The first of note is that any new members will be charged a 30% App store fee starting in November if they're using an iOS (Apple) product. Due to this, I'm going to direct more people to Ream in future. There's also...

I still have some fine tuning I want to do on the last chapter, but the book is 99% done and I'll send another link with the final file if I do continue to mess with that chapter.

I can't thank you all enough for bearing with me and supporting me through writing this book. It's been a pl...

As Colette walked out, she heard the chatter of voices and the strains of the live orchestra before the door closed again. She looked at her reflection in the gilded mirror. She was pale as death and now wore Colette’s pink gloss instead of the bold red she sported at the beginning of the night. The curls that once framed her face were now straight and damp. She didn’t have the energy to brush away the wet strands plastered to her cheek. The bright lighting showed hazel eyes dilated with ...

“It was a long time ago.”

Colette looked cool and collected. How did her sister keep it all in? How did she have the strength to do business with Warren and sit across from him at dinner after what he’d done to her? “Ariana?”

Colette shook her head. “She doesn’t know. I made him promise not to touch either of you. I did my best to keep him away from others, too, when I could.”

Her mind provided graphic images that made her clap a hand over her mouth as her st...

BC Updates/Announcements

Hey guys!

I'm on the last 6 chapters of Bitter Confessions! I'm anticipating that I'll be sending the ebook on Sunday or Monday! Fingers crossed I don't feel the need to tweak too much in these last chapters, but you never know.

I did a lot of dialogue tweaking in the opening chapters, smoothed out sex scenes, and refined the emotional flow of the story so hopefully it reads better. I wasn't going to do a final pass because I was so mentally drained, but I'm glad I am because I'm...

He stared at her with the watery, bloodshot eyes of a starving St. Bernard.

“How much is Roth paying you to play your part?” His sweaty finger trailed over the back of her cold hand. “To make you do whatever he wants? We’ve been waiting for our turn with you. If you’re anything like your mom, I’d be willing to give you another pretty piece just like this.”

“That’s enough.”

She was vaguely aware a woman had arrived and was marching toward them. Warren whir...

An old man limped into the room, sweat dripping from his temples. Although Warren wore a tailored suit, it was wrinkled and hung oddly on his pudgy frame. The years hadn’t been kind to her father’s business partner. He had one patch of hair left on his otherwise bald head and had an unhealthy, gray pallor to his skin. She’d seen him briefly at the funeral, but thankfully hadn’t had to deal with his withering tongue since there were so many other people to see to.

“Uncle Warren...

BC Update

Hey guys!

I'm still doing a final pass/edit and changing way more than I anticipated. Ahh! I got bogged down in the beginning (of course) and changed quite a bit of dialogue to make it smoother (IMO). I'm almost at the halfway mark, going through everything with a fine tooth comb and sweating bullets trying to make sure I make all the cut offs for retailers and stuff. I really don't know why I do this to myself, but I want the story to be the best it can be so I'm pushing through the fa...

There was no one to blame for her current circumstances other than herself. What the fuck was wrong with her?

Her emotions raged, but she couldn’t allow them free rein. Not here, which was… where? She was so focused on Roth that she hadn’t even taken in the room. There was a hushed quiet about the place. Odd when every square inch of Trentham Mansion was swarming with people. Where was she?

She blinked rapidly to rid herself of the last of her tears and straightened, dabbing...

She glimpsed high ceilings, a roaring fire, and towering bookshelves before Roth backed her against a wall and leaned in.

“I thought I told you I wanted to get through the night without a fucking scene.”

“He,” she began hotly, but fell silent when he pounded the wall with his fist.

“I had plans for him,” he said, eyes seething. “Plans I now have to discard because you forced me to play my hand.” He shoved himself away from her and ran a hand through his hair....

Cover Reveal & (Previous Iterations)

I hope you guys like it! It's a combination of the first two covers--the white and black with the small burning details! Sorry for the label/watermark saying, "Not for Distribution." Since the cover hasn't been uploaded on all retailers yet, someone could take the final cover or even the previous versions and publish it. Better to be safe than sorry. I hope it's not too distracting. I blotted out the titles so you can at least see the design.

My original idea was to have a butterfly o...

No one was going to stop her from getting to her sister’s side.

“Cecil!” she exclaimed loudly, making him stiffen and wheel around to see who dared address him by his first name.

When he spotted her, he sneered. Colette’s mother, Estelle, paled and fiddled with her yellow diamond necklace.

“Estelle,” she said with false good cheer. “Have you been by to see your first grandchild yet? She’s absolutely gorgeous.” She switched her attention to Cecil. “And you...

Cover Teasers!

OMG. The cover is finalized. Finally. I was sweating bullets over this and asked for IDK how many changes and although the designer did exactly what I said, it was all wrong! I couldn't figure out exactly why it wasn't right so I convened with some peeps and I realized there was no continuity with the first 2 covers. I also had to simplify my idea to a more basic form that would translate. So I sent my designer my notes and when she sent me the proof this morning and asked if I wanted any cha...

As she drained one glass of champagne and reached for another, Roth palmed her back. She wasn’t sure whether he was chastising her, wanted her input in the conversation, or requesting they move on. She wasn’t capable of doing anything more than sip champagne and smile vacantly as she escaped in her mind, since she couldn’t do so physically just yet.

She’d known that her broken engagement ruined her father and Parker Baldwin’s partnership. That had been flung in her face many t...

Lyle didn’t wait for a response, but cupped her elbow as they walked away from a suddenly mute Tucker. She didn’t make eye contact with anyone, but held her head high as they moved through the static crowd. Twice they were stopped by acquaintances who wanted to speak with Lyle, reminding her that he, too, was doing business. When she tried to slip away, Lyle grabbed hold of her.

“Where is he?” Lyle growled.

“Roth’s with Nathaniel Trentham.” She tugged on her arm. “...

Tucker glared at her. “You’re making jokes?”

She waved her flute of champagne. “Just trying to make polite conversation.”

His lip curled. “You think you’ll get polite conversation from me after what you did to my family?”

She scanned their surroundings for his father, Parker, or even Ford, who could stop this from escalating. Despite being the older sibling, Tucker had been the impulsive, irresponsible one. Making a scene wouldn’t benefit either of them, bu...

Cover & Manuscript Update

Hey guys!

I thought I would have the cover and manuscript in hand by now, but actually have neither! My editor needed a few more days and the idea I had for the cover just didn't work out. My designer and I were working on it yesterday and did almost a dozen mock ups, but I just wasn't happy with it. So, I have another appointment this coming Wednesday where, fingers crossed, we get it right!

Release months are always insane. You always try to prepare as much as possible and you n...

“Dad was right about you,” Charlotte chortled. “You’re definitely an original. I hope you’re right about Dahlia. I could use some good news.” Charlotte straightened. “The reason I brought up your donation is that I was hoping you’d be interested in helping me at the Trentham Foundation. We have a ton of events throughout the year. You can see what suits you and your interests. You’d also meet the heads of other organizations, so you’re on a one-on-one basis with them.” View Post

“Come, our seats are over here,” Charlotte said and led her to the head of the table where Nathaniel sat with Roth on his right and Mikhail on his left.

Beside Roth were two empty seats. He didn’t glance at her, since he was deep in conversation with Mikhail and Nathaniel. It was a server who scooted her chair in. She gave him a grateful smile as Charlotte greeted the elderly woman on her right.

She took a sip from her water glass and glanced around. Mikhail sat across from ...

Pop up shop!

Hey guys!

Since I handed off the manuscript to the editor, I've been working on designing bookish (and author) merch! I've always wanted to make notebooks, mugs, hoodies... and now I can! I had a ball tinkering with designs, book quotes, and items I thought a reader of the series might like! I also created merch for the Crime Lord Series and even some mugs/glasses for Corrupt Idol, though what I'll be posting here is aimed at the fans of the Singed Series.

Because it's a pop up, ...

“Nathaniel Trentham,” he said, stepping forward and offering his hand.

She took it and blinked at the firm handshake, which was a far cry from his father’s gallant hand kissing. Clearly, he hadn’t inherited his father’s charm. “Jasmine Hen…” she began before she corrected herself. “Roth.”

Nathaniel gave a curt nod, released her hand, and switched his intense gaze to his daughter. “It’s Dahlia’s bedtime.”

She didn’t hear any movement behind her, ...

Sullivan nodded to Matthew and Julius, who inclined their heads respectfully. Roth didn’t give her a chance to say goodbye. He grabbed her hand and strode after Sullivan, who tapped certain guests. Several servers were doing the same.

They followed the select crowd out of the ballroom and down a short hallway. Roth took the opportunity to tuck her beneath his shoulder and press his lips to her ear. “Embarrass me by throwing yourself at another man like that again, I’ll beat the sh...

Out of the corner of her eye, a man detached from the crowd and started in their direction. She ignored him until he was almost upon her. She mentally braced and turned with a vacant smile that vanished when she saw Daiyu’s father, Shen Wu.

“Mr. Wu.” She bowed her head respectfully and would have done the traditional fist and palm salute if her hand wasn’t captive in Roth’s.

“It’s been many years since we’ve seen one another,” he said in Mandarin.

Thirty seconds later, they parted ways.

“What is it?” she murmured.

“Mikhail Belikov.”

“The self-made, private equity investor worth ten billion?” she surmised, nodding. “Colette thought you might want to touch bases with him. He’s one of the white whales.”

“White whale?”

Colette introduced her to the wife of a South Korean businessman and the daughter of the Ellis hotel chain. When the women moved on, Colette had less than thirty seconds to point out a few heads of state before several more women stepped forward. Colette knew some of them, but quite a few had to introduce themselves.

She touched perfumed cheeks with nearly a dozen women—heirs, entrepreneurs, and the wives of the wealthiest and most powerful men in the world. They showered her with com...

Sullivan’s eyes lit when he caught sight of them. “My new favorite couple!” he announced and clapped Roth on the shoulder with a fondness that had Colette’s eyes flaring and Lyle’s narrowing. “Glad you all could make it. Dinner will be announced within the hour. Enjoy yourselves.” Sullivan bowed gallantly to her. “Thank you for the dance and the stimulating conversation. We’ll meet again.”

With that, Sullivan strolled away. He took a few steps before he unceremonious...
