In this update I was mostly trying to figure out the mechanics behind the mantis blades. My goal was to make the engineering convincing enough to be able to fit within the forearm cavity. Missed last week's update because I did not come up with something I liked. However after all the concept wrangling I finally have something I can agree with, so here is the concept so far!

There was a tie for the 3rd spot this time, so I had to select which one I like more and I am a Dragon Ball fan so that was a quick decision. I greatly appreciate the kind gesture of voting for the artist choice as well and to be less obscure on the final product I am clarifying what it is that I will probably do in the poll section. We got another good list like usual and the same rules apply as the first round. Most characters that had 16 votes or above have made it to this round. I had to choose between Mavis and Shampoo to be included on the list and I have to admit that I like the anime Ranma more so the choice was obvious to me. I also did not expect Artist Choice to get that much interest and I do appreciate the love, but that pressure is making me sweat. It is a pretty broad option that needs more clarity as well....

Test printing is still in progress and nearing completion. I've been running into some print errors with my new printer and my old printer broke as well, but your fellow patrons are coming through with their tests and hopefully we will get the files finalized soon. Here are the first glimpse of the alternate costume! Megumin loves explosions so I thought she'd appreciate atomic bombs :).
This is the final iteration of the main version is done as well and will come with all expressions in the form of interchangeable heads. Unless I run into trouble during the keying phase the hat should be removable from each of those heads also.

Decided to add Chomusuke the cat upon suggestion. It's a nice little addition that adds a little more to the scene. This is also one of Megumin's final expressions, a little bit of a snobby irritated attitude. I'm not sure how many expressions will be in the final, but so far it's going to be this one and a neutral face.

Unlike the other projects Megumin's main version might be the NSFW version as well, and here's what we have so far. As previously mentioned this is an older rendition of Megumin. Things are subject to change if I develop the alternative version.

I did not quite get to the details I mentioned in the previous update, but I got the main version mostly done! I adjusted her dress design a bit to make it more interesting than just stripes. The cape, eyes and hair still need a little more push and we are done. The alt version will be worked on through the weekend and I will be able to get to the expressions then.

Almost done with the main version, just a bit more refinement and additional detailing to go and moving onto the alternate version. The staff was altered a bit to a more interesting shape, the original design was a bit dull for my taste. The hat and cape will be separated into their own printable form, I have been playing around with magnets and want to experiment further with that in this project. The pose I am aiming at for this project is a more relaxed standing pose that will bring out Megumin's personality. Dynamic poses are cool, but a little variety is good also and it'll let me experiment more with facial expressions.

I decided to try something different this time by using Marmoset Toolbag as a rendering engine instead of ZBrush. The experience was a bit more convenient in some ways and I think I will continue using this method until something better comes along. There is also a pretty good video rendering feature also, so I also included video turntable renders along with the rewards. The images you see here are 65% the scale of the dropbox files. Hope you all like it!

Top 3 picks have been decided! We've seen Yoko in the finals before, shes quite popular. There are also two new faces in the finals as well, Megumin and Android 18. Honorable mentions are Cortana , Spider Gwen/Woman and Starfire with all votes tallied 28 or above.

This is the final look of each versions of Raven! The leather suit is the main version, the Teen Titan outfit is the alternative version, and the NSFW is of course the obvious one.
We have a couple of test printers currently printing and will take a little while to see the results and hopefully not find too many significant issues. I've already found some issues and edited some parts to make it more friendly to smaller resin printers, but also left the big parts as an option for anyone...
