A good amount of time was spent on the hair and horns, but I found a braid brush that saved a lot of time on creating the initial topology and base mesh of the braids. That gave me a chance to put more effort in scaling everything properly and adding edges or details accordingly. I've decided on the final pose! That skeleton I created helped me a ton during the posing process, using pivot points actually helped me stay organized anatomically. This time around after rotating the skeleton it was simply to reattach the muscles by origin and insertion pints. Before I used the skeleton there would always be issues when I flip the model 180 degrees and sculpt the other half, now i have a reference point. Did some coloring tests and decided to create the original costume Lucy bust for free on Thingiverse. The final version of Lucy will be in a star dress form. Currently trying to figure out the composition/pose by trying a lot of different things and looking around for reference images and experimenting.

Sometimes when I pose characters I lose sense of where the landmarks are and the structure of the body will look off. Lucy Heartfilia, First Project of Term 1 of 2020

The polls have spoken and we have a winner. I am unfamiliar with the Fairy Tail series, so I have some homework to do. What I've seen so far is that her main outfit is very similar to Korra aside from her dress, so I am looking around for as many new ideas. If you have anything you like about the series and Lucy herself then feel free to comment and give me ideas.

Avatar Korra Figure Checklist

These are all the pieces that are going to be in the Tier 3 files. Tier 2 Files should be all of the parts with the "Main_" naming convention along with some of the "U_" label. Tier One patrons are receiving the main figure in lower resolution parts split into three.

If printing on FDM then I recommend printing her at 200% or higher scale. The poly tail sockets will be small and fragile if anything under that scale. Adding more printing layers on those thin areas like the pony tail and ...

Things have taken a turn from the previous rounds and round 2 had a lot of really close votes.  The voting is now limited 1 vote per person so choose wisely! This round I won't be participating in the poll, but as previously mentioned I will be the tie breaker. The End date will be slightly shorter than the previous polls as well. Thanks everyone.

Avatar Korra WIP 009

Final update of Avatar Korra, shes pretty much complete so the next thing to do is to create the sockets. I will also try recording this process and create a tutorial later on. The third image shows a couple of expressions/heads versions that will be in the final print file. 

I really like the surfing version so I may edit her further and create a copyright friendly version I can upload to myminifactory.

Got a lot done this week and we are getting to the refining stage where I finally merge/dynamesh things together. The water for the base still needs to be sculpted along with the alternative base. I got fixated on the anatomy again, so that took up most of the available time I had. There were skeleton alignment issues from the previous iteration so parts of the pose and proportions looked a little off. I eventually figured it out and fixed it, so I'm pretty content on the anatomy for now.

Experimented with the water and I will probably create the whole base to look like water. This would probably look pretty sweet with clear blue PLA in the final print.

I've decided just to do a waterbender pose for now. If I can get this pose done without any delays then I will consider adjusting it slightly to accommodate the other elements. The hands are still in experimental phase, I will probably adjust it in a way that the prints will be more solid and durable. Tsuyu Asui Timelapse, Final Video

Last time lapse video of Tsuyu. I might make another video to show off the final print results I can get from a Creality Ender 3. A quick youtube video or a simple turn table on instagram depending if I can get a hold of a decent camera or not. Resin mold casting is something I'd like to do in the future also and I'll try to see if I can make a video of my learning phase on that.

Still in the concept phase, so there's more to change. I want to make Korra fit like a real fighter so I gave her more defined muscles. I feel like I should emphasis her strong shoulders similar to all her costumes in the animated show, so I gave her more mass in that area. I almost want to give her more Indian/Native American motif, but I don't want to stray too far away from the character and her culture.

This one had a lot of hair tinkering, I mentioned before that I spent a lot of time on it because I was struggling to get something I liked.
