I wanted to make a video last night of penny showing off some of the things she can do now with the new Rigg, mesh and everything else I created for her.
She is just so much fun animating, I had to stop myself last night and say "This is completed, lets move forward!"

Texture work is finally completed!
This one took me a bit of time.
I also textured her different digital mouth shapes for when she speaks.
Also the Energy sword has been textured as well.
Next stop is Bone rigging for animation.

I have been rebuilding Penny from top to bottom.

YAY! Completed the texture for the Male Kobold enemy for my game!
Next I need to merge some of the texture work to my Female Kobold.

Made the Eye Textures, started working on the rest of the body, making wear on the horns.
I really like how the eyes came out.
Working in blender and painting everything inside blender this time instead of in Substance Painter, having a blast with it!

I know it looks weird but I am color mapping it to easily paint different areas of the Kobold character.
Its all UVunwrapped for male and female now.

I wanted to share my progress on creating my first enemy in the game, the Kobolds.
Dont mind the hands as they will be redone into more pawlike hands when I am done.
This is the male Kobold.
He needs a tail and more spikes on his face.
When I am done with that I will make the female version.

So it took me a while to finally get the sliding animation and Slide turn animations to work in unreal.
I had to do a lot of coding around velocity and movement etc etc.
Things I accomplished:
- Main menus work with WASD keys for navigation now
- Skidding to a stop and animation for it
- 180 degree turn and slide animations to go with it
So next I need to do the following:
- Melee Combat (Player)
- Ranged combat (Player)

I have been banging my against the wall for a few days now.
Unreal doesnt have out of the box true menu navigation for WASD keys.
There are no tutorials online about it, I asked the Epic Dev communities, Discords etc.
No one knew how I could handle my Menu Navigation using WASD keys.
People kept telling me to move on but I didnt want my players to have to use the Arrow keys to navigate.
The other day the power went out so I HAD to take a break. I fell asleep and dreamt...

Holidays have been busy but I managed to make penny's Crawling animation.
I also edited the Standing to Crouching animation to go right into the Jack-O type pose right away so when you press down on the controller she lands in the idle crouch pose faster.
Next up I need to make the Crouching to Standing animation. Probably some kind of Jumping up animation.
