LTW[R] B2: Chapter 32: Departing and A Dwarf's Thoughts

"Well, Soph?" Lone asked as he walked down the street with her and Breena by his side. Kyuubi was safely tucked away in The Summoning Dimension.

Soph gingerly took the white wooden pickaxe from him and inspected it closely with her Mana Sensing. "Hmmmm... I don't feel anything wrong with it. I, mean, it has magic in it but so does literally everything else. There's no spells or hidden enchantments as far as I can tell."

She handed the tool back to Lone and he immediately put it in...

SIS Book 4 Chapter 90: Victory and Trouble With The Trolley, Eh?

A/N: Just a small note. Jorge is pronounced Hor-hay in this chapter. c:

Daz's armour slowly repaired itself as he controlled Hamson to slice right through the tentacle-wielding monster.

The armour had been pretty useless to him, in all honesty. So what if it could repair itself? What good was it if it never stopped any attacks at all? He was seriously considering abandoning the gift from Altros in favour of something with actual uses.

He did want to get it unseale...

SIS Book 4 Chapter 89: Truth and Might

"Well, not many options from here but to approach the thing," Daz thought aloud.

He controlled Hamson to move slowly into the ocean beneath it and himself. The water was cold, far colder than was normal.

Daz didn't often venture into the sea but he still visited Atlantis from time to time to set up the devices he needed for its restoration. He'd gotten quite a few as of late from trade deals. All without spending a penny, much to his quest's pleasure.

The underwat...

LTW[R] B2: Chapter 31: I told You So and A logical Dwarf

"Oh my, oh my, oh my, oh my!"

Lone slowly opened his eyes only to find himself back in Urd Grun with a smug-looking Hamish staring at him.

"Hello to you too, Darkness," Lone said as he sat down on the floor and crossed his legs. "If you're going to gloat, go ahead and gloat. I don't care."

"Well... I do recall telling you it wouldn't exactly be the wisest of choices to tell them about our little nightly rendezvouses," Darkness chuckled with Hamish's body. "I told you so and ...

LTW[R] B2: Chapter 30: Bathtub and Pillow Talk

The steamforged bath was, quite honestly, a piece of engineering genius.

Lone didn't know all that much about the intricacies of steamforging just yet. He'd barely even begun to learn the basics from Wilbur but with what little knowledge he did have, he could identify this masterpiece for what it was.

'I wonder how much magic there is in steamforging? None at my level but surely it's required to make mini suns and bathtubs like this, right?' Lone thought. 'Yo...

Update

Just in case you aren't on my discord, I announced there that I started reading Azarinth Healer on Royal Road not too long ago. A grave mistake.

I enjoy it a lot and find it hard to pull myself away from it. It's over 7,000 pages long so it is taking me some time to blast through it. I am about halfway through right now.

As an apology, I promise to write 2 chapters for every day spent reading Azarinth Healer on top of what I normally write. I'll also try to do so in the span of 2 ...

LTW[R] B2: Chapter 29: Shouting Match and Ruined Clothes

Steamforger Wilbur held out an arm, stopping Lone from following him into the backroom and home of his shop. "Ye're still covered in blood and ye'r dripping all over the place. No way in the name of the Stone are ye stepping foot past this door."

"Ah," Lone exclaimed. "Right you are. Do I wait here then?"

The old dwarf nodded wordlessly before disappearing into the back room. Before long, he returned holding two chairs.

He manoeuvred past the counter to the shop's floor befo...

SIS Book 4 Chapter 86: Skill List and Telepathic Conversation

"Offensive, defensive, social, utility," Daz said to himself with hand in his chin while he rested atop his throne.

The throne room itself was empty save for himself and a very busy Crosius who was hunched over his desk in the corner. This was where Daz had decided to go over how, exactly, to spend his merit points to strengthen himself.

New Earth had devised a simple and easy to understand system for learning how skills worked. The four words he had just said to himself were the ...

LTW[R] B2: Chapter 28: Reflection and Genuine Hate

Lone was no stranger to stares. He had been a pretty introverted person for a teacher back on Earth, of course. That was mostly due to his abusive childhood and no as a result of his inherent personality.

Granted, he was nothing like Soph who was socially awkward and Breena who was utterly inept at any and all interpersonal relations.

However, during his time in Milindo - before he was imprisoned, he'd slowly grown accustomed to noticing people stealing glances at both his face an...

Madison squeezed them both and said, "Cute!" Mr Barrier didn't seem phased by her erratic movements, just as always.

Daz sighed and shook his head. "Three peas in a pod," he commented before moving behind the teacher's lectern. "How you tolerate it is beyond me, Mr Barrier."

"'Ow can ye still stand?! Tell me!" Hamish demanded.

In front of him, Lone was wobbling to his feet despite being covered in blood, holes and bruises. Bones poked out of his skin and a lot of his body was twisted in strange directions. Half of his tails had been ripped clean off and he was missing his left hand.

Lone could only open one eye and was barely able to see anything with it but he still forced a grin to spread across his blood-smeared lips while he studied what little of...

Daz was incredibly thankful for Madison being in his life. Perhaps the circumstances of their meeting had been orchestrated in a bid to gain the Hamilio bloodline by her parents, but still, regardless of the reasoning, he couldn't help but feel lucky.

She was one of the few people who truly understood him and tried her best to help him. She didn't always agree with him and even got upset with him from time to time. Daz truly loved her for that and felt if there was anyone he could put h...

[SIS] Madison McArthur Christmas Artwork

Chapters are coming soon I was just having a bit of a Christmas break. I, also, on the 22nd had the impulse to get Madison drawn in a Mrs Claus outfit, so here we are...

For what I paid, I am really really satisfied. This is one of the best pieces I've ever commissioned, I think.

The artist is Shu who I know from the RoyalRoad discord server and who actually drew the Garadia artwork from the original Lone: The Wanderer 2-year-ago. Here's a link to his artstation: 2020-12-28 15:56:35 +0000 UTC View Post

"What, Embers, look, like?" Madison asked with an inquisitive tilt of the head when she and Daz had reached the garden rooftop of Castle Crowthorne.

"Hmm? Do you mean the astral projections that represent how they manifested inside of me?" Daz asked back, thinking on how Mu had displayed his Embers to him some time ago.

Madison nodded. "Mmm. Am, curious."

Daz stared at the intricate piece of metal lying before him atop his personal workshop's largest workbench.

It was a hammer about the same height as Daz himself and it was made entirely out of a mix of ordinary copper, steel and tungsten, just as he felt Sandy would have liked - simple and not overly ornate.

The hammer was fixed upon a stone platform with a plaque of gold on its front. Engraved upon this plaque were the words;

The elderly dwarf nodded. "That makes sense and matches our records. You took up a quest as an apprentice to Steamforger Wilbur, aye? And she's an assistant to that elven tailor on Industrial Street along with the one mentioned in the report that's in a 'cocoon of roots'."
