60 — Broken Cycle

I felt a strange sense of grief, as a tangle of thoughts and emotions carried over to me from Labby. ‘I’m alright’ the thought read, yet it sounded almost like an apology.

I took a breath, stilling my hand as I guided it across the sheet of paper and infused it with my Qi. The paper rustled, sticking onto the frame, as it snapped into place with the other papers similarly stuck all around at equal intervals around my room.

The world was a swirl of colours as awareness returned to Lu Jie. Sensations assaulted him all at once, sight smell, sound. It was all so minor, yet he relished each moment, relished experiencing it all for himself.

And with it came greed. He wanted to remain like this.

The Gu boiled within his core, crawling across his pathways. It agreed with Lu Jie’s thoughts. He was the one who this body belonged to. It should be his.

Chapter Delay

So, I've got very sudden arm pain in my entire left arm, and it's bad enough that I'm coasting on painkillers somehow. Due to that, today's chapter will likely be delayed and combined with the one on friday. Apologies for that.

I also think I should really get this looked at as I've had this kind of debilitating pain flare my in my entire arm every year randomly for the past 3-4 years now. It's just really frustrating that it also happened today.

I let out a breath, cutting my cultivation short. Time seemed to fly by when I cultivated, as I get lost in the sensation of cycling my Qi over and over, growing in strength with each step. I could feel Lu Jie’s emotions passing through and mixing into mine. His relief, his joy, as if the shackles he’d been born with all his life had been removed.

I have exams from around 13th December to 29th December (yes, through Christmas as well, though the three days around Christmas are off) and these are my semester's finals. So, to not mess up my grades completely, I'll be taking time off from the 7th of December till 21st December.
