I wanted to explicitly focus attention on compositional aspects going in and make plans for the final pic, so ultimately instead of thinking about it later, planning around values basically at the start became really important to making the path towards the end goal.

In this rare instance, the presented flats are brightened for clarity because I actually used a different process for planning and rendering as an experiment, which'll be more apparent in the PSD and another Process-related post that I'll be dropping eventually.
Also the electric fx were later revised to feel more organic 'cuz they were bugging me during the final stages, haha.

As sort of an advance notice I did ultimately decide not to go with a Stygian alt as the work needed to alter stuff further blew way the hell up compared to the scope I thought of at first, but there'll actually be a couple more different alts by the final posts, which'll be rolled out over the next few days 'cuz I'm trying to not flood things, haha.

I'm pondering probably a Stygian color alt down the road but it may depend on whether I find that doing overpaints for some elements by the end make it really inefficient. We shall see.

Self-tending (SD Set)
Hey I actually finished it! I'd been poking at it every couple weeks and since I'm aiming to make sure that there's two art pack pics per month this year, seemed like a good idea to finish up this one. There were a few things process-wise I needed something not-a-comm to figure out with too so it was good timing anyways.
