I haven't drawn for myself in a bit, been busy with 3 freelance gigs and also recently discovered reading again! Read 2 neat books in the back week or two and it's been a really nice change. hope to keep it up! here's a sketch that i started last week that i hope to have time to finish. not sure what i want to focus on here. colours or rendering? lighting or shapes? maybe it'll be a quick one focusing on shapes.

Another plein air and some screencaps of the process! I chose this really simple photo so i can really focus on a specific palette and getting the contrast right. I think my other plein airs are unsuccessful because they're too complicated for the amount of time i dedicate to them (i want it done fast lol). So this simpler piece was a better starting point. I think my next one will have some buildings in them.

man i was so nervous about this workshop but i think it was really successful! here are a few things i demoed this weekend! first piece i updated and put in a simple 3/4 turn and showed how i pose my characters. next i took a prompt "plants" and showed how i used reference to create a character! fun!
thinking about hosting my own workshop again but on my own platform sometime during the year. is that something y'all would be interested in?

gave it another go today and this time on photoshop. i like doing these on PS cause there's more tools and ways to play around with the piece. procreate is good for just sketching i think. second pic is when i started and thought "i have no idea what i'm doing".
