I wanted to pick up a challenge and work on a more challenging piece using a new process. Initially the idea was to paint the values and later add colors, but it's a process I still don't feel confident enough doing, so I haven't used the greyscale beyond the sketch phase.

At the sketching stage, the greyscale helped me with bodies volumes and depth, which is the reason why I've also slightly shaded the lineart. There are some elements of the body I struggle stylizing in lines; adding s...

I love how their aesthetics are similar yet opposite, how one's totally a sub and lets the other(s) completely own him, I love Dom Pantalone so fucking muchsjslallwoel help

I've repainted this illustration three times because I couldn't fix lights, colors and the overall atmosphere which was driving me insane 'cause I loved my initial idea. After the first two attempts, I decided to scrap the whole thing and restart from the lineart 😤

My mistakes were:
- Putting the strongest lights on the arm instead on on Aether's face, which I wanted to be the main focus;

Came to realize Dottore would rather send his clones on mission and stay home to fuck his husband than the opposite, BUT I'm sure that he's designed some parts of his clones to be... extra fun. Just because he's a nerd that enjoys spending extra time on the stuff he likes (Pantalone being his #1) - all this to say that YEAH the clone's dicks are interchangeable in order to meet Pantalone's specific whim of the day⁓

This has been an extremely fun piece for me! I was super inspired and everything went smooth⁓ 

During the process of setting up colors I did two tests for shadows settings.
Because Cyno wears black, adding dark shadows exclusively on his side of the canvas would've unbalanced the composition and would've made the background pop up too much, which is distracting - the shadow right behind their whole length effectively distances the characters from the background!

I have this hc that Kojiro and Kaoru started their relationship as fuck buddies after Ainosuke proved he didn't love Kaoru back and left Japan. Kaoru needed "a replacement" to stop thinking about Ainosuke, Kojiro couldn't say no because he already loved him...
