Where was I? Oh, that's right. I've told you about the three human heroes. Now let's talk about another.
It is hard to pick who among the remaining six should be next. Going by importance is unfair and debatable, and going for chronological order just seems bland. You know what. I'll tell you about one of my favorites.
The story of Balcan Greenlight the (un)lucky.
He was a beastman born in the year 1313, and the first thing that happened to him in this world was having a bla...

The outpost in the Forest of Dreams was surprisingly advanced. There was already a hotel, a couple of restaurants, a specialized store for equipment, and a few training rooms in the guild. To top it all off, there was a research center that would be used to study elemental spirits. Those creat...

The sprite watched this newly arrived group from the safety of the canopy. One of them had done something with the air. Because of that, getting too close felt weird. It was almost like trying to swim through honey. Still, it had a job to do. A few days ago people started to arrive in the forest again. It had been a long time since anything like that happened and these people didn't seem to respect the sprite's homeland as they should. Without asking or anything, they came carrying machines a...

"What the hell is the matter with those things!" Alex jumped away from yet another giant penguin that kept trying to bite her.
The group had left the city without any issues, and for almost one hour, nothing happened. Then, a flock of penguins appeared out of nowhere and surrounded the party. They stood there for thirty minutes hoping the monsters would just move along. When that didn't happen, Hera and the others tried to push them away without hurting the creatures not to trigger a vi...

When Hera arrived at Cold Water Lake, she had to double-check her map to be sure she actually changed rooms. The area was too similar to the White Desert's entrance, just an ice cave with an upwards path leading to the outside. However, after a few steps, Hera could tell that there was something different. She could hear some loud sounds coming from outside, and there was an earthy scent of water. She kept walking and saw the source of that smell, a massive lake that could be easily confused ...

Ten minutes after arriving in the White Desert, the group reached the small settlement that the guild set up. Because of the terrain, they couldn't construct it by the doorway. There was a 5-meter high tower and a few structures, but it was better than expected. Aside from a small branch of the guild, another building was being used as temporary housing for anyone around but later would be converted into a store or a restaurant. On the other side, there was a bathhouse, although calling it a ...

Shane was so excited that she could barely contain herself. Finally, they could start their journey to the Wailing Valley. She's been looking for the place described in the old texts she found for a couple of years, but even when looking through everything the guild had about the MAZE, things only got close, but they were always missing something. Not this time. All the indications were there, gigantic valleys of orange stone. Where the sun gives you only a small reprieve from the overwhelmin...

When Hera got back home, Helena was already there, sitting on the couch with everyone surrounding her and trying to make her feel comfortable.
"Girls, please. Stop. I'm fine. You don't have to get all worried about me," Helena liked the attention, but it was too much. They were offering to get anything she needed, and if things kept going like that, it wouldn't be a surprise if someone wanted to carry her to the bathroom.
"Guys, give her some space," Hera tried to give her mentor ...

Helena spent two days sleeping in Risli's hut. She wasn't comatose, but she needed constant doses of both a numbing spell to stop her body from burning, and a healing spell to stop these episodes. She didn't take any damage from the burn. It was something similar to the phantom pain of burn victims. However, thanks to Risli, Helena was already doing much better. The pain was still there, but only at random times, and the episodes were not that painful or long. Delaying their departure ended u...

It's had been close to two hours since Helena started screaming, and she could barely take time to catch her breath. Risli was constantly healing her and trying to lessen the pain, but if she did it too much, it would also affect the parasites. To make matters worse, the creatures, if you could call them that, were growing. Ogryn had to recast the spell with increased strength every time. Despite the pain, Helena was adamant about continuing, even when her nose started to bleed. This was some...

Despite what Shane said, it was taking more than a week for the guild to set up everything for people to travel to the new rooms they found beyond Boothudurn. The White Desert was open, but the Wailing Valley, which was their desired destination, was still among the ones that people shouldn't go to. It wasn't like the guild would stop people from going, but they didn't have any actual infrastructure like hotels, campsites, or even bathrooms there. If they wanted to go, they would have to camp...

It took Hera only four days to unlock the skill. The entire training program was very similar to what happened on the first day. Kale would ask about spells that she could maintain for a while, then he would replicate them and start to make small changes as examples. It took Hera close to a full day of training to begin to notice the difference between the mana in each spell, but that was just the tip of the iceberg. Changing a spell that had already been cast proved to be much more complicat...

Wow... chapter 300. I kind of had a weird moment when I realized we are already this far into the story.
I know I say that a lot, but thank you everyone for all the support you give me. I can't put into words how much this means to me.

Hera took the stairs down to the guild basement. For now, this was the only way to move between floors of the building. They had the structure for an elevator here, but Rutigan asked to wait be...

Hera, Bonnie, and Helena were waiting by the doorway. Despite Shane's message that she should be around by 12:30, it was already almost 2 p.m., and there was still no sign of her. Helena was getting worried. Shane wasn't one to be that late. She wouldn't always be on time, but these delays seemed odd. They tried contacting Ninleyn and other members of the order, but no one seemed to know what was happening. Despite that, it was still just a delay, so no one got very worried. That was understa...

During the following day, the group was still talking about the spar between Blue and Alex. The assassin ended up winning most of their duels, to everyone's surprise. Blue was too focused on using her legacy to fight properly against her friend. Only when she went back to her typical fighting style that she won once.
Hera was feeling better, but when the subject lingered too much on Stormcloud, she would try to change it or just leave the conversation. Helena and Silah were the only one...

Hera and the girls had a few days before Shane would arrive. Ninleyn had said she would still be away for a few days, but he got that wrong. In fact, she had just returned to the MAZE and was on the way to Boothudurn. It seemed like the room she wanted to search was connected to the Kobold Road, and staying in an actual city before heading out could give them time to talk and organize everything. Still, it would take close to a week for Shane to get here. She was far away and even using the m...

Ninleyn was in the bathroom for about half an hour, and it did not sound like a good time. The noises that came from that corner of the house are the kind that should be reserved for monsters or large wild animals and the smell was equally terrifying. Hera, Bonnie, and Helena were grouped up in the kitchen surrounded by incense and scented candles.
"Did he die in there?" Bonnie asked.
"Fresh bodies smell better. He's been rotting for weeks," Hera was almost shoving a cup of coffee...

As time went by, Hera and Bonnie felt more and more nervous about meeting Ninleyn. He was the creator of the Order of the Lost Court and the person who would allow them to join as fully fledged members or say they couldn't be a part of the inner circle, so to speak. Lena kept telling them to calm down, but that didn't help Hera at all. She never gave too much thought about what the Order actually did, and now it felt like she was going to an interview in a company she knew nothing about.

When Blue arrived in the meeting room, Becca quickly started prepping her for the interview. It was weird to be far away from someone they saw every day for almost a year, and as much as Hera and Blue wanted just to hang out, they had to get ready for the camera. Becca explained to Blue how Hera wanted to spin the story and gave her some pointers on how to answer a few questions.
"Do you always tell the people you are interviewing what to say?" Blue asked.
"Not at all. I only do t...

Hera stayed another day in Burtois, most of it was in her grandmother's house. They talked about everything that went on during the last months, and Hera even offered to pay for a level up for her grandmother and her dad. They told her that there was no need for that. For one, grandma Triss was too old to want to gain a level, and Eridan had no intention of becoming an explorer. However, Hera pressed the matter. She had enough to pay for one level up even if they opted not to join the trainin...

When Hera woke up, it was already dark outside, and her tablet was playing a video about woodcutting for some reason. She pressed the return button, and another odd video showed up. Since she fell asleep, the videos kept going on autoplay one after another. Luckily, they were still the kind of thing she would watch, even if it were just as background noise.
Getting up from her bed, she stretched her arms and looked out the window. She was hungry, and there was a reason for that. It was ...

Leaving the MAZE ended up being a bigger ordeal than Hera expected. It wasn't just because Silah constantly sent messages to her. She rather enjoyed that. It wasn't even because of the sheer number of people that were walking around Brinefront now. Apparently, ever since the lift on the restriction, there was a constant stream of new explorers every month, and it wasn't just the 10-15 people that generally joined. Each class had anywhere from 30 to 50 people, and at least 50% of the recruits ...

The guild building was already being constructed. However, unlike the other structures in Boothudurn, it couldn't be made by the dwarves. Not because they wouldn't be able to make an incredible guild branch, but because there were too many details that they weren't aware of, such as power outlets and air ducts for the AC unit. Someone could've come to explain at length how things had to be set up, but doing so would increase the timeline by a considerable amount, and no one wanted to do that....

The tales of the Three Heroes shouldn't be something new for you. After all, most of us grew up with those stories, but just in case, let me tell their stories again.
The devils came. Destroying everything in their path, crossing doorways despite what we believed to be possible. Unlike how that happened the previous time, these monsters would sneak to other rooms on their own, devouring, feasting, and following their instincts of destruction for months on end. The creatures were animals...

Everyone in the council chambers was staring at Valyra. It wasn't simply because of what she said, but the words came out of her mouth with absolute confidence. Even Kadmek seemed a bit shaken by the way she phrased her remark.
"What do you mean we will lose more than just our culture?" Rutigan asked.
"This is… a complicated story, but I'll do my best to explain it. When we first noticed this type of behavior was about 50 years ago. At the time, I was working as a…."

Only after Kadmek got too annoyed by that and complained that did the human started speaking more clearly. Rutigan could tell that the council was getting tired. Despite the large numbers, the monsters in the area barely posed a threat. The griffons were weaker than those in the front of the dungeon, going from levels 5 to 7 and much less organized. To top it all off, they would only attack in waves of ten. For Hera and her friends, this was just a walk in the park. After getting out of the makeshift labyrinth made out of stone, they arrived at this open area with 56 Juvenile Sky Rulers. Despite the initial shock, they were having fun during the fight...

After killing all the griffons in the first area, Hera and her party moved to the path near the cliff's edge. The massive wall of stone blocked the entire plateau, leaving only that small opening for them to cross. They considered going above it, but the rock was too smooth, meaning they would have to use spells to climb it. Not to mention, according to Helena, it was rare for a dungeon on the lower layer to require a more creative method to beat. Besides, they had no idea if going up would t...

Hera and Silah talked with the ambassadors for about one hour. They explained how the people of Boothudurn lived and the type of society they had. Hera reinforced several times that there should be rules or laws to protect their way of life, since forcing them to buy food and other supplies could disrupt how they were used to doing things.
Valyra made it clear that this was the case among most civilizations, and they had several ways to avoid those kinds of troubles. Kadmek also added t...
