Betty, Triumphant PDF

Around last summer, I had an idea to try and put together an anthology of female boxing stories from different authors and commission different artists to provide illustrations for them, or just illustrate them myself. I ended up only getting one story, because I was a poor editor when it came to following up with writers about the stories they'd offered to do and I hated the feeling that I'd be pestering them. (That is NOT due to any actions from the writers I'd contacted, that's just my own so...

Examining my influences

Looking at how my work was influenced by a lot of PCTOONS's stories and ideas, I thought I'd reference the other artist that made a big impact on me.

In the 80's, California Supreme sold boxing comics with artwork from an artist who went by Glynn. They were short 8-page stories, but what made them unique was that they featured women that were much more muscular than what you'd usually see in those days and looked like trained fighters. I did a recreation of one of his pages for fun, you can se...

Old experiment/tribute...

I'd made this back in October, when I was revamping the bed ring. It's another adaptation of a PCTOONS image, since it was his work that gave me the idea to do a bedring in the first place!

Experimenting with a tribute piece...

I always liked how fighters punched each other out of their tops in PCTOONS's old stories, and I wanted to experiment with the concept here.  I've always avoided having fighters wearing tops in my fights because the clothing doesn't want to follow the shape of the figure when the muscles are flexed, making it look unnatural. From this angle it's easy to avoid that happening.

The original image I based this on is here:

Making my own boxing poses

I've always used boxing poses made by other people as the starting point for my renders and animations, but I figured it was time to make my own. In the long run, it'll make things go faster since there'll be fewer things for me to adjust. It should make animations much easier as well.

Totally off-topic...

Every once in a while I play around with things that have nothing to do with boxing or nudity, and last week I wondered if I could pull together a decent-looking Superman. Here's the results.

Quick test. The new lighting makes animation feasible for a lot of locations.

Testing Genesis 8 again...

Some new muscularity morphs came out for the Genesis 8 figures last month, and I decided to run some tests to see if there was enough support for it now that I could start using it a little bit.

Flexing is... okay. What I use now does a better job of flexing the individual muscles. Genesis 8 does have a lot of preset animations for boxing like the one in the top picture which could make animation easier, eventually.
