Experimenting with cinema techniques: Split Focus
Since my computer's giving me fits with this commission I'm working on, I thought I'd take a break and post a test in duplicating a cinema technique called Deep Focus, or Split Focus.
In the real world, if you want to get something in both the foreground and the background in focus, you use a special lens called a split-field diopter. Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I experimented with a couple of things with this image, the first was giving a character a tattoo that went across their back. For those of you that don't know, in Daz Studio, as well as most rendering programs, the surfaces for any object in a scene are saved as flat images. So, the torso for a figure looks like this:

GOOD NEWS: PC's back up and running, with a bigger hard-drive and no loss of files. Planning on buying a new desk today so I can reorganize things and give it some better ventilation.
