February 2020: Deimos Level 4 Exclusive Line Art Hi-Res

This is the Line Art of the special offer for Level 4 members.

Deimos' Inferno is the first short comic I did professionally for Class Comics. Written by Patrick Fillion, this story featured Deimos' reckless ambush to Hell to end Bob's reign.

Of course, things didn't went as planned and Deimos ends raped and humiliated by the sadistic twin demons Bile & Gaul and Belagauz, a nasty tentacle monster.

February 2020: Deimos Level 4 Exclusive WIP

Class Comics' Deimos is a character I love big time. Since very young I wanted to work illustrating comics and doing it in 2011 for an 8 page story abut Deimos frustrated assault on Hell was a dream come true.

Keep an eye open for this post where I will be uploading the progress of the Level 4 Exclusive February bonus illustration. Given the month is still young, there might be more to come!

I am practicing basic animation. This is my first project using DragonBones. Working with separate body parts instead of a static image would give better results, but it's a start :)

The full sized animation is included as an attachment to this post. I recommend to download it and play it as a loop. :)

February 2020: Aquaman Variant and Transparent Background Version

I've been experimenting with ways to make renders look a bit more pictoric and interesting. I am trying here an oil paint effect I saw in a tutorial mixed with some Clip Studio Paint effects.

I actually liked the result, especially in the tentacles and hair. I used a similar effect to add more detail to the painted Coliseum background in the Darius reward.

Possible change for the 3D reward

I am considering to change the monthly 3D renders for traditional illustrations. My drawings seem to be more popular and would allow me to have a consistent style for the whole Patreon, which is good for me as an artist and may be less confusing. I enjoyed doing the Aquaman render, but it seems so disconected from the Darius illustration, it bothers me.

Possible renders might still be posted as additional bonus.

Plus, that would mean 2 Poll characters instead of 1.

February 2020: Aquaman 01 Low-Res

I decided to create this image as a wallpaper (1920 x 1080 proportion). The tattoos were a huge work because they have a specific pattern that is not easy to paint directly in a 3D model, but I think it worked.

What didn't worked were the tentacles I was modeling earlier. I could never got the textures to look right, so I had to buy a model and create my own shaders for it.

February 2020: Darius Variants and Layered Files

Here are some variant versions of the Darius image.

Remember you can download the uncompressed TIF files and the layered CLIP (Clip Studio Paint) and PSD (Photoshop) in the attachments of this post!

If you have Clip Studio Paint, the CLIP file is more interesting, as almost everything was done in there and the colors and blending look as intended. PSD has minor, last minute color correction and effects, but it's almost the same file.

I included two versions because I created a line art with the pictoric filter of my painted background in Clip Studio Paint and I thought it looked nice with the original pencils.

February 2020: Darius 01 Low-Res

I just finished playing the current build of Kemo Coliseum and I liked it so much I decided to create this image of the priest character Darius.

I am trying to get out of my comfort zone and do more detailed backgrounds. Also, I usually color in Clip Studio Paint and then add a lot of retouching and corrections in Photoshop, But this time the result is almost 100% CSP.
