Eugenics War Update

So the website migration has started, and I'm not supposed to be making changes. Despite my better judgment, I finally went ahead anyway with today's public update, it is only half a dozen small files, but I'd rather not push my luck any further, so here's today's update on EW (it's a tiny chapter compared to last week's!).

Colour of Magic, Night 1, is close to being finished, and I should have Short Treks episode 1 done about the same time. I figure the migration will be done on Monday...

New Host, New Internet, and a Pain in the Butt

Kind of a long one, but here's the stuff that's going on now and a few things that will be coming up in the fall. Especially important is the upcoming Colour of Magic being delayed and that plan for the Discovery short episode situation.

New Project

So we hit our stretch goal, a new series! This is going to mean a change to the July rewards for Officers and up, but hopefully a good one. :-)

The new series is tentatively named Crystal-Scape. It is a look at how the development of Henson's company lead him first to create The Dark Crystal, and then to create Farscape. One Fantasy, the other Science Fiction, but both intended to explore speculative fiction in a way that was largely unprecedented.

Stumbling Forward

I talk a little about what the plans are, but mostly I just descend into self-pity. The gist is that right now the focus will be on getting all videos done two weeks before publishing so that early access is ALWAYS on time.

Scaling Back (and Punting the Cat)

(Avoiding) Death & (Not Avoiding) Taxes

Today I talk a bit about what's been going on from my POV, a little about the behind the scenes. Mostly it's me complaining about taxes, going to the doctor, and fixing the house.

Changes for April

The file goes into more detail, but the quick version is that I'll be posting the special rewards (comic reviews, micro-reviews, etc) with a week scheduling rather than a date scheduling (e.g., this week will be Dragon's Lair Ep 4 and Micro-Review of Captain Marvel), with the hopes of making the entire process more efficient and timely.

Always Moving Forward

My commitment this year was to try to take things to the next level. Try to make the videos better, try to make the rewards better, try to engage better, try to clear the backlog better. Things have been a little rough, but I've not let that dissuade me from this goal, and I appreciate that you haven't allowed these setbacks to cause your interest to wain.

So, we narrowed it down to three possibilities, all fairly catastrophic so we are going ahead with just building a replacement - as the forum noted, Ruby has been part of the show for a long time and while pieces have been updated, it's time to put her out to pasture. I've got all the parts and am having the shop assemble it on Thursday.

In the meantime, I've been trying to maintain forward momentum. I can't get at any of my files, but I have been able to write scripts using my tablet. ...

Problems (again)

Well, I was hoping to go at least another month before a new problem turned up. Guess I was foolishly optimistic. 

The latest is a particular frustration, it seems Ruby has done all she can for the show, she gave out just as I was starting on the Sith Warrior review. I'm going to need to replace my pc before you get your rewards and the next reviews. 

Captains, you may in particular be affected, because while I can work on scripts for most Star Trek without my pc, I can'...

I wanted to announce a further change to the Patreon rewards (no, there's no fee changes going on, at least as far as *I* know).
