[Patron Bonus Content] SPHINX pages 1 and 2 Improvement (tm)

Tried something new (so old for me, it's new anyway - this was a technique I did during Men+Monsters), and discovered that 'perfect lines' are not always perfect for the drawing you're doing :)

I do a lot of little adjustments like this for consistency so that the books look their best when printed - I think this is how I rendered Verus' room as well, but it's been a while haha. Speaking of, Jet's room is next in The Wolf page 9, which I'm doing right now. Wahoo~!

The background and some other steps were simplified so I could finish the book faster, but I think it still looks pretty good :) The color scheme is sunny and warm for this scene, lots of warm blues and terracotta shades in there.

Finally finished adding dialogue to all the Sphinx pages and doing some of the rough sketches! There are now 96 story pages total in Sphinx; It'll probably round out to 100 with the extra pages. It will be my last one-shot book for quite a while.

I'm going to try and incorporate sections of Skyset Knights into my current Sphinx-centric workflow to give myself (and you!) something new to look at :) I really want to finish The Wolf and some ...

I found these two pages after having misplaced them for like a year. It's probably going in Skyset Knights 3 or maybe 4, since it doesn't fit the erotic or narrative theme of Sphinx, and because its too far along / too cool to waste ;)

[Patron Bonus Content] Sphinx / Skyset Knights script stuff

Doing some final script stuff for Sphinx and writing miscellaneous scenes for Skyset Knights when the mood strikes. Writing for a comic book is much different than writing a screenplay or literature, where you write per panel - in other words, there is limited space on the page for what you want your characters to think about or say, so you have to really make it count, haha. But with that in mind, here's some fun short scenes I worked on recently:

I wanted to give you an outline for what I'm working on at the moment and what's going on in the world of MEN PLUS MONSTERS Comics :) It's an exciting time as always, especially with another Kickstarter just ending which means more books are on their way! What I'm working on now:

SPHINX is my highest priority project, with dialogue and sketches being finalized in the coming days.

I'm thinking of sketching the whole book (1 - 91), inking it, and doing the coloring in batches. I've never done a book quite this way before, but I think I can preserve the quality and get it done faster this way :o Excuse the mess with the way I'll be working, but I guarantee it'll be worth it to see the stories in Sphinx. The stuff coming up is really cool :D

[$5 Tier] Skyset Knights: The Transformation pages 1 - 9

Ace of Beasts has been absorbed into Skyset Knights as a series of short stories showing how Xerxes, Osric, Ramzi and Ravi saved the world (and unknowingly ushered the Age of Monsters). They are known as the Heroes of the Age of Monsters, and later their entire guild bears that moniker. 

What changed: I fixed the font size / typeface, added titles, and fixed the frame color / layout to go with the rest of Skyset Knights :)

This was an unexpectedly beautiful story in terms of the art and content. I'm pretty happy with it :)

I didn't quite know how to best visualize this page, as Verus is talking to Jet about possibilities and desires and such, so I went with trying to make the visuals as if Jet could see the vast amounts of magickal power Verus has, altering the space around them. I wonder if it's too colorful or different enough to get the right amount of attention on this page.

The last two panels is supposed to elicit the feeling of, 'Verus is eccentric on the outside, and Jet likes / understands / desi...

There's quite a few neat things about this page, but my favorite little bit of 'trivia' is about the bottom four panels: The first one is us viewing Verus from above, second with Jet viewed from below - Jet is rescuing Verus, so he is positioned over him. In the third and fourth panels, their viewpoint is reversed, showing that Verus came back to return the favor, this time in the 'viewed from below' position of control :)
