This one took a little longer than usual because I looked up the flowers for The Lovers card (which also happens to be the small bouquet Osric gives to Xerxes in KNIGHT OF ALANOC's rewrite, with a secret meaning lol).

Lots of fortune and good tidings in this handful of cards - Silas, Arcas and Senna join the pentacles suit here, with a Screech (the wyvern from the cover of SWORD KINGS #1) as the Ace of Pentacles, an Amarok as the Ace of Cups, and Heru, a very old character of mine who is showing up in both SWORD KINGS and ACE OF BEASTS Volume 5, as The Magician ;3c

we're done with the swords suit, and moving onto pentacles!
The pentacles suit is represented by the Sect of Strato characters, since pentacles have to do with the material world, success, wealth and other earthly pleasures. Ramzi, Asterion the minotaur from Mythikos Teratos, Arcas from Sword Kings, and some other characters also make their way into the pentacles suit ;3

The swords are all about clarity, decisions, and mental fortitude. Each suit sort of has a storyline, where certain symbols are used over and over with different contexts. The 'blindness' in the two of swords, shown by Osric closing his eyes but leaning toward the 'right' (and literal right) answer, which acts as a call to carefully decide between two choices, becomes a detriment later in the eight of swords where the figure is paralyzed with fear even though ...

Justice is Ravi, Temperance is Agni, The High Priest is the sorcerer from ACE OF BEASTS, The Hierophant is High Priest Zenok*, and Strength depicts King Xander and an Amarok monster ;3

The Hermit, Death, The Hanged Man, The Emperor, The Regent (Empress gender swap, and this was the closest term I could find that wasn't King or another Emperor haha. Same meaning and symbols though!), and The Chariot.

Xerxes and friends have really ordinary non-monster-hunter neighbors in town who don't understand why 'monster people' like them are monster hunters.
Rex's friends and Xerxes' friends are all into video games. Whether they are all at the same skill level is up for debate... lol.
