The Shatterplate War Chapter 10

As the three people from the Adventurer’s Guild left, after hours and hours of talking and discussion, Kay could feel two very intense stares on him.

The door closed, and Ahthia slammed her hands into the table. Before Ahthia finished inhaling to yell or shout, Eleniah smacked her hand over Ahthia’s mouth.

With an intense expression on her face, Eleniah held up her other hand with one finger raised. Everyone paused as Eleniah tilted her head and listened to something. A few mo...

The Shatterplate War Chapter 9

"Uh…" Kay glanced around the room at his people. "What?"

"To be clear, I don't mean attack anyone or be in a battle," Gemglass explained, "We'd like you to have a fight, not to the death, with someone. You personally."

"You want me to spar with someone?"

She looked over at Forn, who shrugged and made a "washing my hands of this gesture". She sighed in response, "Not sparring, it has to be a real fight, so it'd be a duel."

Everyone else looked back at Kay, seemingly j...

The Shatterplate War Chapter 8

“I’m here!” Eleniah announced as she jogged into Kay’s office. “Meten’s on his way; he just wanted to grab some better clothes.”

Kay set down the reading Amanda had given him to go over while she grabbed some more material from her office. He saw Eleniah was wearing a nice dress shirt and a well-tailored pair of silk pants. “Is that what formal wear looks like in the Isles?”

She glanced down at herself. “Yeah. I mean, this isn’t good enough for a formal meeti...

Kay slowly raised his hands, his sword held loosely in one of them, as he looked down at the blade pointed at his throat. “I yield.”

Meten grinned and stepped back, “Well fought.”

Kay nodded back and returned his weapon to blood. “Thanks. Not that I did more than stay up a little bit longer.”

“Improvement is improvement,” Meten scolded as the group of children and teenagers that had been watching seemed to come out of their collective shock and started ...

**Note for Partisans: Sorry about the delay in chapters for y'all, having some writers block and haven't produced much recently. I'm working back from it though, and I Should have more to post this weekend for y'all**

The former slaves stared at Kay after he welcomed them. A few of them clustered together into small groups, but most of them just stared at him. Eventually, one of the men in the group shook his head. "What's happening? Did a Blood Mage just free us from slavery...

Someone ran up to Kay’s group as he stalked towards the small area the slave trader had been led to. The man was dressed in unassuming clothing and fell in step with the group. “Sir, report about the trader.”

Kay glanced over at the man he had no memory of ever meeting and grunted. “We need to start formalizing things.”

The man glanced from him to Amanda, then back. “Sir?”

Kay chuckled darkly and glanced back at Amanda. “What position do you want to have?” ...

Kay looked up as Eleniah walked into his office. "Hey! How's your day been?"

"Fine?" She looked over at Meten, who was sitting down in front of the desk, then back to Kay, "What's going on?"

"Did no one tell you?" Kay frowned and leaned a little to look out the door. No one was there, and he scowled a little. "That's twice in one day. We need to talk to our message runners about giving people all the details."

"What's going on?"

Kay waved his hand in Meten's direction....

It turned out that some of the random piles of stones weren’t distractions. Hell, all of them might not have been distractions. But some of them rose up from random piles into roughly animalistic forms and threw themselves bodily at Kay.

He watched as one of them continuously bounced off of his leg armor repeatedly, looking something like a tortoise made of pebbles as it rammed its “head” into him ineffectively. “So… what’s with this?”

“Part of the Dungeon...

"So, why is there a Dungeon here?"

Meten gave Kay some side-eye and chuckled. "Seriously? I know that Eleniah's given you more than one lecture about Dungeons by now."

"I'm not asking you to suddenly prove one of the hypotheses of Dungeon creation. Why is there a Dungeon here? I thought we'd moved out past this area."

Kay was standing next to Meten around the backside of the mountain that loomed over Avalon's valley, close to where that curving passage that led out from the ...

Yesterday

Yesterday was supposed to be my day of coming back from break and resuming posting. Yesterday was a bad day and things did not go well. So we're doing it today instead, and tomorrow should be normal.

Book 2 Chapter 2 will go up for Partisans later today.

Thanks everyone

Kay, Blood Mayor of the Town of Avalon, glanced up from the form he was filling out and resisted slamming his head into his desk. "How is there this much paperwork to do?" He picked up the stack of papers and dropped it down to hear it thump.

His secretary sighed, "Sir, there isn't that much. There are only two forms to sign and then two plans to confirm before we start implementing them."

Kay looked from the young human woman to the thick stack of papers and back again. "Wh...

Patron Expansion Poll

This poll is shorter in description: I've been thinking of putting a more expensive tier with limited slots and more detailed rewards, like prints of art or something else. I don't have the rewards 100% down, because I wasn't sure if anyone would go for it. So that's what this poll is for!

Future Works Poll

The first direction poll I'm putting up is this one! As I said once before in response to a comment somewhere, not sure if it was here or RR, Kay's story was pre-planned long before I started putting it up for consumption, and it has an end, it won't go on forever. That being said, I have dropped some hints about other things, and here I am addressing them. Someone (maybe) might have made a connection between the series name and Kay's number of friends from his Earth. That's right, First of F...

ART!

I got the character art back, and I really like it all except one thing. Darten looks kind of mean to me in this art, and I really see him as a more jolly person. Other than that, its good!

And here they all are.

Announcements!

Hello Everyone!

The last chapter of Book One went live just a few minutes ago for Partisan Tier! It took so little time (in my mind) and I'm so happy we got here! Thanks to everyone for your support.

Since book one is done, I'm going to be posting some polls for ideas I had to improve/expand upon things for my Patreon page, and I want your thoughts and feelings about those ideas. These polls will be open for all Patrons, so tell me what you think about stuff!

Also, because t...

Blood Shaper Chapter Eighty-seven

Kay glanced around the basement that had been built under his office. “When did this get put in?”

“Yesterday,” Eleniah answered as she climbed down the ladder behind him and nudged him out of the way. “Darten made it as kind of a temporary vault for us. Once we actually have a need for a real vault, we’ll make one, but for now, a hard-to-get basement somewhat hidden under a building most people don’t need to go to is fine. It’s not like we have anything that’s worth st...

Meten rubbed at his forehead and sighed deeply after Kay finished his summary of the events since the party of four had traveled into the tunnels and the explanation of what had just happened. "I am not going to try and process this right now."

"I think I understand enough." Eleniah agreed with him, "We can save details and further explanations for later."

Kay shrugged, "Sure, whatever." He pointed down into the giant tear in the surface of the plateau, "I have to go look for the ...

Delayed till tomorrow, sorry.

Hey everyone! It's the Monday before Christmas and one of the most insanely busy days of the year for me, so today's chapter is going to be delayed until tomorrow! This is for all Patreon tiers and the free content on RR. Sorry about that, but I have to run in so early and I don't have time to do everything today! Sorry for the inconvenience. Wednesday's and Friday's chapters will be as per the regular schedule. Sorry again and see you tomorrow with everyone's chapters!

Blood Shaper Chapter Eighty-four

Kay saw the tentacles transforming into strange, legged worm monsters and mentally threw a few curse words in the direction of the Eldritch Being at fault for this entire mess. The tentacles that sloughed off and became monsters regrew out of the creature’s back seconds later, with part of the monster becoming a disgusting incubator in the face of Kay’s new reinforcements.

Four of the monster’s tentacles remained out of the new spawning process, and they twisted themselves forward...

The anger-filled scream from the monster was strong enough to rock the stone around it, and it sent shivers and tremors shaking down the rest of the passage it had carved out. The blood claws covering Kay’s fingers got vibrated out of the rock, and he had to scramble to keep his grip. He glanced up with a glare at the thing, which was now pounding on a wall in front of it.

“What now?” He demanded as he went back to climbing. He’d been following the creature for about an hour, cl...

Cover Art!

The cover art for Blood Shaper is done! It was done by Casey Gerber, who I found on Reedsy. She did a great job (especially considering the cost) and I'll post a link to her Reedsy page below (since it's all I have for her).

The cover is a little more stylistic than I thought it would be, but I like it. The actual image shown isn't technically an actual scene in the story, more like part of a scene.

Anyway, tell me what you think! Another copy of it will be in the Discord as well....

Attached here is a PDF version of Chapter Eighty-one as a PDF to get through some of the stuff with fonts and colors that I was trying to do. Read it if you want to, there are no content differences, but tell if you like the idea/execution.

I did it as a new one so everyone can see it btw, just in case.

With his brand new Enhance Blood Skill enhanced and the blood of a hydra pumping through him, Kay’s injuries healed totally in less than a minute. As he straightened up and glanced around for his weapons, he saw another silver flash in the corner of his vision. He looked and saw his notifications were still open, and now something new was glowing. The line about Shape Blood hitting level thirty and opening him to get his first tier four class was shining silver.

Unlike the last time, the hole Kay was pulled down was deep. Panicking as he dropped, Kay started wrapping himself in layers upon layers of blood, trying to make a shell that would survive the impact. It couldn't have been more than a few seconds, but it felt like hours as the air rushed by him and Kay slowly blanketed himself in red blood.

He didn't remember the impact.

He woke to the sound of shifting stone and rocks breaking. He automatically tried to sit up and let out a small...

Kay saw another set of runes or shapes carved under the mantel of the doorway, but they didn't have any time for him to stop and look at them. They pushed through the small doorway, which felt like it was built for the regular-sized Rittians, which were roughly the same height as dwarves.

"How did that big fucker even fit in here? He's three times the height of the ceiling! I have to bend a little to fit!" Claudia complained as they pushed further in.

“I kind of hate how this is the best plan we’ve got,” Leya muttered as they got ready.

The tunnel branched several times, but they followed trails of Rittian activity mostly straight for a long time before it veered off into a tunnel going deeper at a steep angle. Discarded bits of bone that they didn’t even try and identify, scraps of ruined clothing, and broken stone clubs littered the path. From the looks of it, the crazed rat people discarded rubbish onto the floor immediately, with no care for hygiene or tripping hazards.

“This is nasty,” Leya complained as she...
