Clarifying Update

Just in case, because some people asked questions. There will still be chapters posted while I'm out of the country, I just won't be writing new ones while I'm gone and will be pulling from my backlog. I already have chapters of Book 6 written and ready to go and they will go up on the normal days.

For people at the $2 and $5 tiers, you'll be getting your own chapters as individual posts that go live instead of being added to the existing ones, because I can't automate adding access to...

Back from DragonCon, it was great. Also got my dates wrong on my trip, I'm leaving Thursday not Friday so automated posts are going to start on Thursday.

Kay woke up. He didn’t remember falling asleep, and a good chunk of his body felt really sore, which was weird. He tried to remember what he’d been doing to end up feeling like this, but it as all kind of a blank. The last thing he remembered clearly was… huh. Not much at all. He knew his name, he remembered his f...

Hello patrons, one and all! Time for some news. I'm finally able to move to full time as of DragonCon! Chapter 51 is the end of Book 5!

*********

The blood layered around her felt like very tight armor or that latex outfit she’d tried one time to Eleniah as she soared through the drenching rain at the falling blue core. The coating of black goo that surrounded the glowing blue orb twisted around it, making itself into a new shape. It was a twisted monstrosity just like the rest what these nanomachine things had made, and Eleniah understood why Kay’s people had feared the idea ...

BS5 Chapter 48

Three chapters to go till the end of book five! 51 is the last chapter!

*********

A tidal wave of black rose up behind the blue light and crashed down on the island of Sel, sweeping defenders and warriors under the roiling tide. Kay responded with a wave of his own, red crashing against black as he pushed out more blood, more protection to everyone he could reach. People fell and were sucked beneath but waves of red peeled the eldritch corruption back and threw them away. There we...

Greetings, vast majority of my patrons! I wish to express my abundant thanks for choosing to support me and get early chapters, it means a ton to me! Also, I'll have my full dragoncon schedule on Thursday for anyone that might be there!

The main force of the nanomachines was moving toward Sel fast according to the woman who could sense them with her Skill, and she wasn’t wrong. They hit the opposite edge of the island before Kay’s group could get close and clumps of ...

The intelligence in the sphere cursed electronically inside what constituted a mind for its kind. Several of the foolish youngsters hadn’t obeyed his directives, and now thanks to their incessant chatter through the radio band they’d been found. The fools, trapped in scouting layouts and lacking the resources to upgrade their shells didn’t have the necessary sensors to detect the movement of the natives...

The handful of dates they got to go on over the next few days were very nice. They had dinner twice, once in the suite by themselves and once out at a fancy restaurant Eleniah recommended. Both dinners were great and the few other dates they had, including a shopping date and a tour of one of the palace’s art galleries, were wonderful as well. Those stood out to Kay as “dates” because they were specific events they’d planned out ahead of time specifically for the two of them, but ever...

Patreon and Apple Updates

Anyone who is also subscribed to other Patreons might have seen posts about this already, but in November of this year Apple will be implementing changes on how they process Patreon transactions on the Patreon app download from the Apple app store. They're adding a 30% charge on all new transactions or subscriptions (according to the information I got from Patreon directly no existing subscriptions should be effected but who knows if that'll hold true) so just watch out. Apparently you can st...

I spent all day thinking it was Thursday until right now when I checked to make sure it was posting time and my phone said Friday. Whoops.

The hunt for the eldritch nanomachines spanned several days before Alahna started having people head off the island of Sel to broaden the search. With no known dopplegangers to test the blood Kay gave them with Purify Blood in it the people involved in the hunt were unable to know for sure if it would reveal any fakes. They resorted ...

“Nanomachines?”

“That came across in, uh, what’s your language called? Anglish? No, English. That doesn’t match a word we have. Also what do you mean by ‘gray goo scenario?’ Hasn’t all the goo we’ve seen so far been black?”

“Right…” Kay started breaking down the concepts to make sure he go the information across. “’Machine’ obvious translates, right?”

“Yes.”

“Okay, does ‘nano’?”

The two women quickly glanced at each o...

“What?” Alahna recoiled from Eleniah’s glare. “I had no idea there would be an attack last night!”

“Bullshit!” Eleniah shouted. “You literally mocked that idiot Karmondur about how you knew all about his plans!” Her scowl deepened as she continued to stare down her cousin. “You dragged us here and put Kay in danger for one of your stupid schemes. What was the plan? Use the excuse of the replacements appearing to get Kay to come so you could force Karmondur to launch ...

Cleaning up the literal mess in the ballroom and the figurative mess that stemmed from what happened in the ballroom took well in to the next day. The wounded needed healing, bodies had to be carried out, structural damage had to be patched up, and prisoners were carted off and interrogated. A group of Alahna’s royal guards asked Kay, very po...

Hello darling readers! Trip ends today, normal posting will resume tomorrow when I get home if I get home at a reasonable time or we'll do two chapters Thursday and be back to normal next week. That makes this chapter technically last weeks second chapter, thanks to lovely problems with the Spanish internet connection.

Also, if you don't count this chapter, there are only ten left in Book 5 for all of you!

The fourth in the row of five class options was wearing long robes that covered most of Maeve’s body. Her hair was loose and looked like it was getting swept back by an unseen wind. One of her hands was stretched out, a glowing red energy gathered in her hands and her mouth was open as she spoke or shouted something. A spell perhaps? This class had every hallmark of a magic user, and that had Maeve excited as hell.

Maeve decided to work through her options in a logical order stepped up to the frozen figure of herself on the far left. The other her was frozen with her torso held parallel to the ground, knees bent and one leg stretched forward like she was sneaking toward something. There were a pair of daggers hanging from a thing belt and she was wearing a mixture of generic looking clothing and what she thought was leathe...

First post for this week! Back home next week, although I'm landing on Tuesday so unless things go much more smoothly than I expect both posts are going to be Thursday of next week. Also, a little bit after this there's going to be more post from that other story I've been working on going up! I hit a snag on the timing for the first book and ended up having to scrap the outline, but now I'm back in business and churning out chapters!

Guests at the dance stopped paying attention to Kay, both those who had been overtly staring and those who had been covertly watching, to pay attention to the arrival of their queen. Two guards in her livery proceeded her and two followed behind her, but every eye was on Alahna as she strode into the ballroom. She was the very picture of a regal queen, with a simple yet elegant presence crown on her brow and silvery jewelry that matched it drawing the eye with each movement. Bangles pooled at...

Eleniah shot Kay a look from his side, visibly scolding him for using an adjective that could be misinterpreted, or in this case, interpreted exactly the way Kay meant it.

Kay reached out to tug on the edge of his sleeve and paused. With a small grin he mentally adjusted the feel of the “fabric” around his wrists. The shaped blood that made up his outfit rippled as it changed to his will and he chuckled softly at the sensation and the possibility. Even after years of being able to do actual magic it still sometimes snuck up on him how damn cool this all was. Outside of the tragedy of being separated form all the people he loved from Earth, his life was doin...

“What?” Cindy leaned across the table, her hands bracing at the edge. She stared incredulously at the disheveled man across from her. “They asked for what?”

“They haven’t actually asked, milady, but the idea was brought up in some of the council sessions they’ve been having to deal with the current issues.” The man, who wasn’t quite a spy but certainly wasn’t just one of Avalon’s scouts, was doing his best to remain professional and unfazed by his surroundings, but...

A pair of Seramist royal guards swept into the room, scanned the environs, made tense eye contact with Kay’s Blood Guard, then stepped back to allow Alahna to pass by them. Kay and Eleniah were sitting across from each other in the small dining room attached to the suite that Kay was staying in, which was different from the attached large dining room. They’d returned from the dungeon, had a quick chat with the bevy of negotiators they’d brought along to assist Kay in making deals while ...

“You’re excited about a training dummy?” Kay asked, staring down at the miniaturized black stone asura sitting in the palm of his hand. They’d grabbed the loot and started making their way out of the dungeon. Eleniah’s goal for them had been to beat the asura golem and they didn’t have unlimited time to spending diving into the dungeon, so their run was over for the time being.

Eleniah scoffed at him. “That’s as much as training dummy the same way you’re just an Outwor...

Quick Little Announcement

There's going to be two chapters today for everyone to catch y'all up after I missed last Thursday, and also two chapters this Thursay to make up for me being on a long flight next Tuesday and not being able to post then.

I'll be in Spain for three weeks (most of July) and posting will continue, but potentially not on the same days as normal or at similar times. I didn't plan to be out of the country that long, but I was asked to on behalf of my grandma and of course I'll help my grandm...

Kay threw his arms back, launching himself out of the crater his body had made and just skimming over the first fist that wanted to pulp him. A thin streak of blood coated one of the knuckles as the outer layer of his helmet skimmed across the stone. “That’s a miniboss?” Kay demanded, pointing at the hulking, forty-foot tall golem.

“Yeah. It’s a dungeon that tier fives can progress in, what were you expecting, a cuddly kitten you could kill with a look?”

The miniboss lived, whatever that word meant when used to describe a magically created figure made out of stone that had never breathed, in a suitably large arena that gave the tow...

BS5 Chapter 29

Like every “door” he’d seen so far in the dungeon, there wasn’t a door, just an open archway leading into a darkened tunnel that spanned the short distance between rooms. The walls and the ceilings are cramped, not tight enough to prevent entry to anyone but the largest of visitors but small enough that was impossible to see into each room until they were right at the entrance.

“What’s next?” Kay asked Eleniah, since after the first room she was happy to let him be forewar...

A blocky stone fist larger than she was crumpled against Eleniah’s own fist, crumpling like so much paper before the unmovable force that was Kay’s partner before it shattered outward in a wave of shrapnel. Losing a limb didn’t slow the humongous golem for even a microsecond and it’s second fist slammed down in like a hammer followed up by its third and forth fists doing the same. The core that controlled the Golem Army’s Citadel dungeon had at some point in its time designing monst...
