Unusually bright sunset during a very calm day with no wind. Water reflection like this, when the sun is already touching the horizon, is extremely rare (in The Netherlands)
2023-08-29 07:00:01 +0000 UTC View PostThis Sunday I recorded the F1 at Zandvoort again, from 6km away... "Slow TV" on my abandoned Tele Sunsets channel... Rain and wind spoiled it this time.
And for the Dutchies, there's a new Inhoudsloos podcast again... In Dutch. I could never do that in English...
And of course the weekly ...

Tele shot of very calm sea, nicely reflecting light of the setting sun.

Apparently that type of ship is called Barque in English.

This was shot in the evening of June 11, 2017. Based on radar and satellite imagery I suspected that there could be a rainbow, and it actually happened just when I arrived. It might just be that I'll never capture rainbow this vivid again. It was quite remarkable...
I re-processed these images from the original raws to make it prettier than the original 2017 export.
The aspect ratio of most photos is 3:2. When using it as desktop background (or so) it should fill properly. Let me ...

This is electronic paper (a.k.a. brand name E Ink) right at the moment of transition from white to black. It's a video still. So yes there will be a video about this, some day... 🤐

Strong temperature differences in the atmosphere cause these strong distortions.

These two photos were made at exactly the same place, exactly the same day, and almost exactly the same time. But 3 years apart...
The flowers have been replaced with lavender...
Captured June 25, 2020 and 2023 in Provence, France.

This might look like a boring platform, but it is (also?) machinery to place wind turbines in the sea. Another part of the horizon turning into wind turbines. Ah well you win some you loose some 😉

This light was quite rare... Sunset Sunday, good idea?.. 🤔
I have a virtually inexhaustible amount of sunset/sunrise and other sky and weather photos.

I'm not sure how to properly do early access, and also I never promised I would, but anyway for the "Making of Dots" on Lazy Posy I've just set the video to "hidden". Only now I don't have to forget to set it to public next Sunday...
What I forgot to mention in the video is that I had never used After Effects before and it's quite a frustrating piece of software...

These stills are from steam, made in 2015. Most of these shots were not used in that old videoclip ( https://youtu.be/FCpHnL2ikP8 ) because it was so close that each frame was something different. That's why there's also quite some compression artefacts visible.

I just realized that next to skies, I also have a virtually inexhaustible amount of tele shots of sunsets and sunrises... Like this one.
