Update - March 2018

Ah, it's March! Time to start working on this month's projects, already.

As a small disclaimer, I was without power for most of the day just last week due to some heavier weather, and today is supposed to get a little harsh as well. It doesn't look like it'll be nearly as bad now as it was those few days ago, but a portion of my time is still getting taken up by prepping in case it does get worse! I don't like to do any computer work when there's a threat of having the power shut out ...

Updated and with an alternate version now as well! A little jump forward in time, and a little change in outfit to go along with it. I've updated the original version as well, now that the full image has been re-rendered in a properly detailed resolution.

So first off, while I'm definitely happy with the result of this piece, it was rushed to get to this point and a few corners got cut. First rough setting of the scene! Pose is still just her "default" pose, I'll get to that later. Tonight was spent positioning the chocolates box in her hand and everything. ^^

I don't think I've discussed the concept for this one yet, have I? The plan is to have a mix of treats in the box; a few chocolates, a few tiny people. I haven't decided just yet if the scene will be Jemma picking one out, or popping a chocolate between her lips, or dangling one of the tinies over her mouth; the latter ...

Jemma profile (update 2018)

Here's something I've been wanting to work on for a long, long while! Jemma is a character I created some time ago, but - from a mix of lacking knowledge and skills - her renders didn't turn out quite how I'd originally envisioned her. Now I won't say it's all been perfected, now, but this is much closer to how I wanted her to be from the start.

Jumping on this month early!

Things have been slower than I'd like, but it's a work in progress still. It's a mixture of procrastination and delays that have been pushing my projects right to the very end of each month, when ideally I'd like to be posting in the first half of each month. That's the loose aim for February; getting started straight away, trying to have something finished within the next two weeks! So, uh, wish me luck.

A little late on this one, but done at last! For Yuumi's entry into this series, I wanted to try and incorporate a little of her personality into the pose; bounced around on a few ideas, but ended up having a happy accident that led to this, a more teasing/taunting sort of feel. ^^

More progress! I'm going a little quicker with the updates on this one because it should be done a fair bit quicker than normal, too.

Bit of a different angle on this one, too. The camera itself it set to invisible, but you can more easily see here my guide prop; just a flat plane attached to the camera, resized to the dimensions of the view, and set to nearly transparent. This isn't kept in the render itself, but I use it as a means of gauging distance when I'm posing things, as well as a vag...

And here's the main project for this month! I've been meaning to give Yuumi one of these for a while now. (had some different ideas for hers before, but some new directions with her character have led down a new route.)

I was struggling a little to figure out where to put her hands in this - if at all - but a friend mentioned that this particular pose makes it look as though Yuumi might be pushing your forehead with her finger, which honestly fits Yuumi's personality so well. She's definitely ...

Some progress, after quite a while sitting on the backburner! I had some inspiration more recently and wanted to give her some updating. Little changes to the texture of her hair, decided to go with green eyes instead of blue/purple, a second option for her clothing... ^^

Update - January 2018

I think I'm going to try and do small updates on a more consistent monthly basis, but we'll see how things work out! Just giving a heads-up before we dive into the actual update...

Right! So first off, apologies for the continued slowness here. There's a week left of January and I'd like to put some fresh effort into creating something new every month for this year, so it'll have to be a bit of a smaller piece to start with.

More progress! I fixed up all the little issues I had with the model, and I'm pushing forward on some various shaping morphs; a more realistic fold, a bit of gravity at work, and maybe one or two others before I'm ready to actually make some use of this. :D

So, on that very note...!

Any suggestions on how I should go about using this model? Fun scenes you'd like to see, interesting ideas? I have a simple idea or two already, but after putting all this work in, I'd love to have a few more...

In all honesty, my plans for the year are still fuzzy at best, and I haven't even fully figured out what the plan is for this month. But I do have some plans, and I'd like to share a bit here with you today. ^^

Merry Christmas everyone! Santa swung by last night and dropped off this render for all of you, with perfect timing too because I was spending the night trying to finish a picture. Convenient! :D

I hope you all have/had a great Christmas, and just weekend in general. For a couple days there I didn't think I'd be able to finish anything in time, but this just flew together in the last moments without any troubles at all, so I'm very happy about that. It's not super Christmas-y, but that's good ...

Quick update

Hey all! Long story short, been a bit frazzled this week (and month) especially, and today turned into a bit of an emergency rush to help get my grandmother moved to an assisted living apartment. Thought I'd have way more time for work, but I've got a few hours instead.

That said, I'm finishing up the latest picture now! Renders are done, it's just postwork, so with luck I can get it done before the day is up, even. If not, it'll be out tomorrow for sure.

Almost done, so might as well squeeze in one more WIP before it's all wrapped-up.

Just need to set up a background, which was giving me some trouble so I decided to take a quick break (I tried to throw in the prebuilt scene I've got of Teena's room, but the perspective wasn't working like it should). Beyond that, I just need to render, then maybe throw some postwork onto it all... I don't know quite yet how far I'll go on postwork, some drool is a given but I might try some smears from the lol...

Lollipop picture, started and already dang close to being finished! I stumbled on some inspiration just earlier and honestly, this is just refreshing to work on. Simple, fun, and I don't need to put nearly as much work into it to end up with something that looks great. I'm feeling good about this one.

Late-night update

Hey, folks.

I've been struggling more than I'd expected to be, and for a lot longer than I'd hoped; for some reason or another, a lot of the stuff I used to work on near-obsessively has just become incredibly difficult to get into the mindset for anymore, and my own self-discipline was never strong enough to deal with that. It didn't need to be! I usually had the problem of not being able to put my work down.

Done! Late, but done. I'm not as happy with it now as I was before, but having it finished and posted makes that a ton better. (and maybe I'll go back to this later and fix the stuff that bothers me, but for now I can't even think about that.)

WIP update, as promised earlier! It still feels pretty far off from done, but pretty close actually. Biggest addition up next is Yasa, pun somewhat intended.

Let me also just add that all the grass was a massive pain to put in and I have a strong feeling it'll make rendering awful, but we'll see how it goes. I don't have a good, simple way of just making a lawn model in DAZ without it being either super-advanced or really flat, so I ended up adding loads of "grass clump" models and individuall...

I'm struggling to finish a project in time for Halloween when my energy is running awfully low, so doing anything beyond that - like posting WIPs and regular updates like I should - has been honestly beyond my reach at the moment. ^^;

I'm hoping to make it up to you all, soon! There's probably better ways I could be handling all this stuff but it's tough to think of any of that right now, so I'm just trying to keep my aims reasonable-ish. This Halloween picture will be in high-res if all goes ...
