Orie vs Merkaiju sketch

Basic anime head structure (and basic eye coloring)

Here is a really basic anime head structure sketch. One common mistake is to extend the jawline too far to the edge of the circle. Remember that anime heads are egg-shaped, so the jawline is really small. Shorter jawlines are used for cute characters, and it's usually how I draw them, especially for Orie. I tend to draw narrow, longer jawlines for fight scenes.
