Exciting times--we're deciding between two potential artists for one of our new BL games!
We personally like them both, so it's a hard choice for us. However, we'd love to get your opinions as players on which style you like best, so please help us out by voting!

Hello everyone!
Read on for information about this month's RE:P update, progress with our VNs, and info on our upcoming presence at cons!
Red Embrace: Paradisus Update News

Because we're working hard this month to prepare for conventions, May's build is mostly focused on polish and bugfixing, rather than adding a lot of new content. However, we do have a few new exciting things!
Dynamic 3D MC model: The 3D model is now a little improved, and will reflect your hair + skin color changes! (still a placeholder/WIP, hairstyles and outfit etc. not implemented yet)
Hair/eyes color picker: You can now choose your hair and eye color for your portrait/model via a color picker! The possibilities are limitless! (A similar skin color picker will be coming soon.)
New skill/trait: Illusive Web (skill) and Malicious (trait) won this month's poll, so you'll see them in the update!
New area + NPC: There'll be a new small area for you to explore this update...featuring a new NPC who some of you might just recognize. ;D
General polish and bugfixes: We've smoothed out some of the UI and fixed some irritating buggies!
You can expect to see the update rolling out around the end of the month. Keep an eye out!
Other VNs Progress Update
We're working with a handful of artists right now to figure out the best matches for our 2 new VN projects!
There will be a poll later today about the 2 possible art options for one of the VNs, so please remember to vote if you'd like to weigh in on the art style!
MomoCon + PopCon

Next week (May 26-29), we'll be at MomoCon! Come see us if you're anywhere near the Atlanta, Georgia area. :) You can grab AG merch without shipping prices and chat with us in person!
The following week (June 3-5), we'll be at Indy PopCon--so if you're in the Midwest, you can find us there too!

It's been a busy month! We're hard at work on both our games and convention prep, and Dov is also spending a few days in Ohio for a concert.

It's time for the next Red Embrace: Paradisus content poll--let's see which skills/traits will show up next month!
As a brief refresher, skills are passive/active abilities that let you gain insights, interact with the environment, and achieve quest goals. Examples include picking locks, tracking down a character, seducing someone, stealing their lunch money, etc.
(Below: the skill selection screen)

Traits, on the other hand, are personality/background facets of your character. They determine how your character thinks/feels about their situation, their background, and how other characters respond to them. Examples include flying into a rage at an insult, being able to flirt aggressively, always remaining stoically silent, and acting gleefully eccentric.
(Below: the trait selection screen)

As you can see from the screenshots, only a limited number of skills/traits have been introduced thus far. So let's decide what the next new skill + trait implementation will be!
Here are the current options (both the skill + trait will be implemented if picked):
Option 1: Iron Diplomacy + True Thespian
- [Skill] Iron Diplomacy: Threaten and intimidate people who might not share your point of view
- [Trait] True Thespian: Be extremely theatrical and dramatic, move (some) people to tears, channel your acting chops for sticky situations
Option 2: Illusive Web + Malicious
- [Skill] Illusive Web: Telling and seeing through lies, deceit
- [Trait] Malicious: Commit villainous acts, both petty mischief and larger havoc; essentially be a little shit (or a big shit)
Option 3: Nous + Bohedonist
- [Skill] Nous: Willpower, mental strength, mind over body, resisting vampire powers
- [Trait] Bohedonist: Compulsively chase after pleasure, excitement, and new experiences; decadence thrills you beyond compare

First Quest: Osedax

The first side quest of RE:P is now available and fully functional!
We've spent much of April working on the programming for our quest system, which will handle both main story quests and side quests.
To check out the first side quest, talk to Zhang in Maodun Consulting to get things started! You might find a little eerie adventure awaiting you.
New NPC: Ulysses

Another NPC and area appears! You'll be seeing a fair amount of Ulysses throughout RE:P, so be good to your resident paranoid journalist.
UI Additions/Updates

This month sees a number of changes to our UI, including the scrolling dialogue box in the screenshots above, a new quest menu, and an update to the save/load menu (so you can actually save in slots).
Note that all of the UI is still WIP/placeholder/not the finished product! We intend to make major overhauls down the line, but for now, we wanted to get something up and running.
Next Month and the Future
What's next for RE:P?
May will be a busy month as we prepare for conventions and travel. However, we still intend to get an update out; it may be a little on the smaller side, but new content will still appear.
Some (possible) things that might show up in May's update:
- Inventory system
- 1 new side quest
- 1 new NPC
- 1-2 new areas
- Further UI updates

Hello everyone!
Some exciting news this month about our projects! Read on for details on Red Embrace: Paradisus and our unannounced VNs, as well as our upcoming booth at MomoCon.
Red Embrace: Paradisus Update News

The April RE:P Alpha update is well underway!
This update mainly covers the first side quest (as we set up the quest programming framework), new UI elements, and the inclusion of a new skill (Biophile) and trait (Brightside).
Our plan is to have the update out by the end of next week, so stay tuned!!
First Quest!
What's the first available quest in RE:P, you ask? Well, it involves the request of a certain shady attorney, some marine biology, and a good dose of eeriness.
You'll be able to activate it by talking to Zhang in his office!

UI Updates!
We've got a combination of new and updated UI features for you this month!
- Dialogue box now contains history + larger choices (WIP still, but functioning)
- Save/load has a proper menu now (includes character name/location/time and date)
- A new quest menu has been added to track your ongoing quests (WIP, but functioning)

New VN sketches in the works!

We're currently working on two VNs, as mentioned in prior updates. One will likely be announced sooner than the other...and we're currently doing sketches with several artists to decide on a style for it!
We'll likely have started work on the actual sprites by next month, so look forward to some teaser art for the new VN soon!
Next Month: MomoCon!

AG is going to be at MomoCon next month! If you're in the southern US (it's held in Atlanta, GA), consider checking it out! It's a huge convention that celebrates games, anime, shows, TTRPGs, and more!
We'll be showing off our games, as well as selling our merch in person. We'd love to see you if you stop by!

It's been a busy month as we balance our three ongoing projects, life events, and other work. We're super excited to do some traveling soon, though.

First Hub Area: CHINATOWN

The first hub area is now available! Explore Chinatown and visit the two interior areas currently available. :) Once you finish talking to Sal in the Twin Sisters' mansion, leave through the exit and you'll be taken to the hub.
There are three hubs currently planned for RE:P. The first 20% or so of the game will be focused mainly in Chinatown, before the second hub area also becomes available.
This initial iteration of Chinatown is essentially a rough draft, and only covers one portion of what will eventually be a larger hub. We have another couple of blocks planned, as well as quite a few more interior areas, but we wanted to get this first glimpse of the hub out for you to explore. (It's also worth noting that a fair few buildings are currently placeholders.)
New NPCs: Zhang and Rosalind

You can now talk to two new NPCs! Find Zhang and Rosalind in Chinatown, where they hang out in a law office and coffee shop respectively. Keep an eye out for the bright signs.

While neither NPC has an available quest yet, you will be able to have more in-depth interactions with them in the coming updates. Note that most major NPCs will keep note of your responses and grow to like/dislike you accordingly.

Save/Load System!

At last, we have a functioning save/load system! It's still a bit rough as we've built the whole thing from scratch, but we're refining it steadily.

A proper save/load UI hasn't yet been implemented, but you can play with the save/load system by hitting the save icon in the in-game UI, and typing in the slot you with to save/load to in the menu that appears.
Next Month and the Future
So what's next for RE:P?
Our rough April goals are:
- A functioning quest system (complete with UI)
- 1-2 actual quests
- 1-2 new areas
- New NPC to talk to
- UI updates and additions
However, as we are currently starting work on two new visual novels that are also in development, it's possible we may end up slowing down RE:P's update progression somewhat. We intend to reassess things and post a more detailed plan in April, so keep an eye out.

Spring is on its way, and with it, some exciting news about our releases and current/upcoming projects.

Red Embrace: Paradisus Update News

The March update for RE:P is well underway!
Currently, our main focus is developing the first hub area in Las Vegas: Chinatown. As a fledgling vampire, you'll meet your first friends (and potential enemies) in this area, dabble in various quests, and find innocent mortals to prey upon...or not.

While only a portion of Chinatown will be initially accessible for the March update, it'll still feature a taste of the dark atmosphere and locale. We're also planning on implementing two interiors (at minimum): a coffee shop and a bookstore!
You'll be able to meet a couple of NPCs there who've already had their portraits revealed on our blog...so stay tuned for some fun encounters.~
The Hepatica Spring Launch!

Dead Man's Rest out of Early Access soon!

Dead Man's Rest is about to be pushed out of Steam Early Access!
Our Western BL visual novel was stuck in a rut for a little while, as we couldn't find a CG artist to finish the remaining route. However, we're happy to say that we finally finished up the game!
It will be officially out of EA within the next few days, but if you already own the game, you can switch to the full version using the publicly available "beta branch" on Steam.
New VN(s)...?

Presently, two new VNs are slowly entering the works. We're expecting to switch focus to them quite soon, now that DMR and THS are almost completely done (still polishing the Google Play versions).
While we won't reveal too much for another month or two, we can say one thing for certain...if there's a shiny BL-shaped hole in your life, we may have just what you need to fill it.
Life Update
As always, it has been a busy month! After our recent releases, though, we're planning on switching gears somewhat to focus on new VN styles--with a touch of some old magic, that is.

Spoilery Hints for Special Interactions
In RE:P, you'll find that the narrative and interaction options change quite a bit depending on your skills and traits, so it's easy to miss a lot of optional content. Below are some hints for finding some of the new interactions included in the month's update! Don't read if you'd like to discover these things for yourself~
- The Gonzo trait will give a unique interaction with some furniture
- Keep an eye out for Golgotha visions
- A bit of Panoptes will help you spot something unsettling in the mansion
- Spin something enough times for a valuable experience
- Research on the computer with a higher Technocrat skill for some interesting info
Next Month's Update
So what's on the plate for next month? We have a fair amount planned, but here are some major things we're aiming to get done!
- Save/load system
- First iteration of Hub #1 (Chinatown) with new interior areas
- 2-4 new interactable NPCs (you may have seen some of their character intros on our blog!)
- New dialogue box layout with scrolling history/larger text options
- (Possibly) Quest system implementation

We've been quite busy this month at AG (as usual). Read on for some details about The Hepatica Spring beta, the upcoming update for Red Embrace: Paradisus, and next month's REP update!
The Hepatica Spring Beta

If you're looking for a new VN to pass the time with, check out the beta test for our latest game, The Hepatica Spring!
It's a cute, fluffy, fairytale-themed adventure set in a fantasy bath hotel. We'd love to get your feedback on it before we launch it officially soon!
Upcoming REP Update

(In case you haven't seen it yet--all Orb+ patrons can now play the REP alpha!)
This month's REP update is currently on track to be released sometime next week! Read on for a short list of some changes/additions to expect:
- New scenes + new area: Several new interactions and a new area (Twin Sisters' mansion) have been added
- New skill+ trait addition: The new Pantomath skill and the Grim trait have both been added
- Character overview sheet: You can now access a summary sheet of your character through the settings menu (you can also change your pronouns at any time via this menu)
- (Probable) Dialogue box/history update: Dialogue box is now a scrolling window that lets you scroll to see prior conversation history (still working on/testing, so might not immediately be in the update)
- Updating date/time in HUD: The date and time in the bottom HUD now update (time will soon be an important mechanic!)

Full disclosure: This month's REP update is much smaller than what we have planned for March, as we've been working hard all February to also get The Hepatica Spring ready for release. However, we've got a lot of exciting stuff planned for next month, so read on to learn more!
Next Month's REP Update
Our rough plans for REP in March include...
- A working save system (hoorah!)
- First iteration of Hub #1 (Chinatown); exterior area that will contain multiple interiors you can explore
- 2-3 new NPCs to interact with (inside the hub areas)
- New skill/trait + Throne addition voted on by you in the polls later this month!
These plans are subject to change, as we never know when vicious buggies (or life crises) will impede progress--but we plan on working our hardest to get there!

Hello all!
It's time for the next Red Embrace: Paradisus update poll! We're hard at work on the content update for February, and it's time to see everyone's vote on the Throne submissions! (Throne patrons can submit a monthly idea for a new conversation option, interaction with an object, or new sound/ambience.)
The options for the February update are:
- [Conversation] Confess to Sal about opening the slot machine (if you did open it)
- [Conversation] Ask Jiwa about Sal's history/background
- [Interaction] Research vampires + the Las Vegas underworld on your laptop
Let us know your vote! The poll ends February 1st.
Polls will be coming along more frequently as the game grows, so keep an eye out if you'd like to contribute to the course of RE:P's development!
(As a side note: the Orb tier has been upgraded slightly to have access to 1x poll/month, while Crowns/Thrones have access to all of them.)

Interested in joining the alpha? Read the instructions below!
We'll be pushing our monthly alpha game updates via Steam (you can get your key via our Discord). Each month, we'll be posting a password that you'll need to enter in order to access the month's update.
This month's alpha password: repalpha0122
Instructions:
1. Join our Discord, where you'll automatically be sent a Steam key (make sure your Patreon account is linked to Discord)
2. Redeem the key, right click the game and hit "Properties" (screenshot)
3. Click "betas" and enter the alpha password (repalpha0122) into the box, then hit the "Check Code" button (screenshot)
4. Select "alpha - Patreon Alpha" from the dropdown and install the game! (screenshot)
Game controls

DEV ANNOUNCEMENT (end of 2023)
Work on RE:P has come to an indefinite pause. Our revenue from games is not sufficient to support full-time development work for our designer/developer, and our programmer is focusing on their Ph.D. work.
If you'd still like to play the current RE:P content (4-5 hours worth), a one-time pledge at $5 will allow access to current and all future updates (including the final game) without requiring you to remain pledged. (If you've already pledged at the $5 tier, you will still have access!)
RE:P may still be published or completed in the future, but unfortunately, we cannot promise anything.

What is Red Embrace: Paradisus?
Red Embrace: Paradisus is an immersive vampire sim/narrative RPG. Inspired by Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, Disco Elysium, and the Shadowrun series, RE:P seeks to create a dark, fully story-driven vampire experience with branching narrative and multiple endings.
Set in 1999 Las Vegas, the game follows a newly turned vampire (you!) as they set foot into the underworld. Strange people, psychedelic adventures, terrible secrets, and (optional) twisted romance all unravel before you.
We aim to present a world with diverse characters and identities, as well as implementing inclusive options to make RE:P enjoyable for as many players as possible.

How does the alpha work?
- All Patrons at the Orb ($5) tier and up will receive access to the monthly alpha updates (while still a Patron)
- Joining our Discord will grant you a Steam key + access to Patron-exclusive alpha discussion channels
- The alpha Steam key will also grant access to the full game upon release
- Each month, we release new content and fixes, as well as content voted on by Patrons

What should I expect in the alpha?
Itβs important to note that this alpha is NOT for the complete game. The ongoing prototype will slowly be adding new areas, NPCs, quests, and traits/skills over time. Vote in our polls to let us know what you want to see next!
Some features we have currently:
- 70,000 words of content
- MC portrait customization (more customizations planned, such as new faces/hairs, color pickers for hair/eye/skin color)
- Placeholder MC 3D model customization
- Skills and traits that change narrative/choices
- First hub area (Chinatown) + interior locations to explore
- Main quests + (currently 1) side quest
- Many NPCs to chat with
- Functioning save/load system
- Roughly 5+ hours of gameplay
** All content (lighting, animations, music, 3D models, etc.) is a work-in-progress. It is not a complete and accurate representation of the final game.

Red Embrace: Paradisus Patreon Alpha...Next Week?!

We're extremely excited to announce that the planned alpha release date is currently Monday, January 17th.
What exactly will the alpha entail? Here are some main important info points:
- The first hour or so of gameplay will be available
- All Patrons at the Orb ($5) and up tier will receive a Steam Key via joining our Discord
- Your key will grant you access to both the ongoing alpha (while still a Patron) and the final game upon release
- New rewards will be added to Patreon tiers, including polls for the next upcoming content, and content idea submissions (Throne patrons exclusively)
- The alpha will likely run into 2023, with monthly content updates that will include more story, quests, and character customization over time (as well as new art instead of placeholders)
More details about the actual alpha specifications (and our long-term plan) will be coming on Monday, along with the release.
We can't wait to set out on this journey along with you all! This is the first time we've done community-involved development, and we're quite confident it'll make RE:P a far better game in the end.
The Hepatica Spring + other VN news

THS is speeding along towards the last stages of development! We're now on to programming in expressions and background changes, as well as compiling music/sound effects to be added in. We're aiming for a February release date, currently, if all goes well.
As for our other VN projects:
Dead Man's Rest is finally on track to be out of early access, hopefully around late Feb/early March!
We're currently in the rough, preliminary planning stage for 2 VNs (one on AG, one on Gallium) that will ideally be slated for completion within a year. We'll keep you updated with rough details until we settle on the names and can release more info!

Red Embrace: Paradisus

We're very pleased to announce that we're on track with RE:P's alpha! At the current progression of development, we should be prepared to post our very first Patreon build around mid-January.
We've been spending these past months developing the framework for the full game--namely a quest and dialogue system that will remember your choices. We want to have these systems working early on so that we'll be equipped to deliver monthly game content updates for Patreon that can focus mostly on new stories/quests, instead of being bogged down in more programming.
Next month will also see an update to our tiers as we add new rewards related to RE:P. :)

THS development is into the programming phase! All the art/story is 100% complete, so we're working on implementing it into Unity currently.
We're still aiming for an early 2022 release!

For this month's WIP, we have a sketch of the newest NPC's portrait to share with you all!
He hasn't been publicly posted yet, so we wanted to give you a sneak peek of his art and character info~
Now presenting...Kiefer!

You'll meet this wild punk Mavvar early on in RE:P, as he's part of a rather large vampire faction. Appearances can be deceiving, though, and despite his crazy and seemingly violent exterior...there might be more to Kiefer beneath the surface.

Hello all!
For this month's WIP, we're excited to share with you the first CG from RE:P's opening sequence.
Despite being an isometric RPG, RE:P will still have CG sections similar to those found in Red Embrace: Hollywood and our other visual novels, drawn by the amazing sh0d03.
The style we're going for will not be fully colored, but rather a striking white-on-black sketch with post-processing effects (a neon color overlay and animated bokeh/lights) to match RE:P's atmosphere.
Below, you can glimpse a little teaser of CG1's WIP (prior to any effects being added), with a light vignette to keep your new acquaintance a mystery...

What will the invitation contain, one wonders? Hmm...
Answers will arrive in the Patreon alpha early next year!~

Red Embrace: Paradisus

If you haven't seen it yet--we announced our latest game, Red Embrace: Paradisus, in this post!
We're happy to report that RE:P is well underway! Currently, we're on schedule for an early January launch of our Patreon-exclusive early access alpha.
This alpha test will be the first hour or so of gameplay, and have various placeholders/limited features, but you'll be able to get an early taste of RE:P's character customization, story, and what awaits you in Vegas! More details will be on their way in December.
Currently, we're hard at work prepping for the alpha. That means implementing/programming character customization and interacting with objects, importing 3D models, finishing a chunk of 2D art, and getting together SFX/music!
The Hepatica Spring Update

THS is currently on schedule to be completed around the end of this year/beginning of 2022!
Since we're moving over to Unity instead of using Ren'Py, it's possible that programming will take a little longer than expected. However, most of the art assets are complete (or close to it)!
With THS, we're hoping to experiment on Google Play with a free-with-ads or one-time purchase to remove ads model. It'll be available on PC also, of course!
Once THS is complete, GAG will turn its focus towards completing our other side project, a very fun little historical-with-a-twist VN that features some classic favorites: romance and murder.
Another Concurrent VN...?
While nothing has been firmly pinned down yet, there's a likely chance that another AG VN will be developed alongside RE:P. It won't be an RE game and will likely feel somewhat similar to our earlier titles in terms of genre.

New RE Game Dev Update
Our announcement date had to be delayed a bit due to some personal emergencies, but we're aiming to make the game info public very soon!
In the meantime, we've been working on programming for the alpha build, in-game GUI, art, and of course the new script! We're pushing hard to have something playable by the end of this year, and things are going pretty much according to schedule so far. We should have about an hour of gameplay ready for Patrons to test by the time it's ready!
Gallium VNs Update!
If you haven't seen it yet--check out The Hepatica Spring, the Disney-flavored VN we're working on! We're aiming to have a demo for THS out before the end of this year, too.
There's also a chance we might push the second GAG game up a little sooner in our schedule, so it might be announced around the beginning of next year! We're very excited about it, and it may be one of our first VNs available on other platforms if all goes according to plan!

We're excited to announce our latest entry from Gallium Games: The Hepatica Spring!
Inspired by older Disney animation films and Norse mythology, the game stars a customizable (gender and name) MC, owner of The Hepatica Spring, a gorgeous bath hotel in a cozy seaside town.
We'll be preparing for a Kickstarter in the future, and more about the characters and the world will be revealed in the coming days.

New RE Game Announcement Coming Soon!

Some exciting news~
The new Red Embrace game is starting to pick up some development steam! The initial main character art/variations are complete, the first NPC portrait is almost finished, and scriptwriting is now underway!
We're aiming to announce it by the end of this month. From there, it'll be a long but exciting journey down a new path, and a new venture into the dark world of RE~
Gallium VNs Update!

Both of our current Gallium Games projects are underway!
Our main focus for the GAG label is a visual novel we're hoping to announce within the next 2-3 weeks. Slightly longer than the original Red Embrace in length (around 50k words), it's a fun fantasy romp that will include romantic as well as platonic options, and any gender for MC!
We likely won't post much about the second VN for a time, but we plan to announce it later this year!
Upcoming AG Shop Sale!

We'll be rolling out a major shop sale for AG merch within the next couple weeks!
If you've been wanting to grab a poster or buttons/keychains, the time is almost nigh. Look out for an announcement when it drops!
Monthly Life Update!
In the past few weeks, Gam has returned to Seattle (and moved into a new pad), whilst Dov is back in Indiana for the moment. We're settling back into our old work routines and are looking forward to making some tasty goodies for Mid-Autumn Festival (September 21st).
