Experiments! - Playing with Krita -> Photoshop

Hey!

So, this post is meant to accompany the previous tutorial post, here's a bit of the last few images I've worked on in a similar approach - I'm gonna plan on doing a larger image in this style soon - but first thing is wrapping up the FF7 painting!

These images are super sketchy, I would take these a lot further in the painting phase if they were meant to be finished illustrations - but as far as a quick jump start into the painting process with a nice volumetric sketch/paint...

Kamen Rider & Destiny - Process, PDF, Brushes

Guts - Step by Step, layered PSD, High Res + Print

Here is another experiment using the technique I used on the previous Moblin post - I wanted to have a go at doing a more realistic portrait while keeping it painterly, this one was a quick turnaround so I didn't get too intense with the realism, but I worked it up to a point I'd consider it finished for a day's work(about 3 hours).

Moblin - step by step, layered PSD + WIPs

Worked up a 2 hour demo(the Moblin) that I will be doing full commentary on, but in the meantime, here's a bunch of stuff to check out - PSD is layered if you'd like to look through the steps - most of the process here is following the approach that Piotr Jablonski uses to paint between Krita and Photoshop, he was very helpful!

Sketch -> Final - plus some extras!

Hope you're well! I wanted to share - while my hands are a bit messed up - some of my initial sketches compared to the finals. These are some of my chicken scratch ideas that I put in my sketchbooks to knock out ideas before fleshing things out with tighter drawings on the tablet. You can more or less see how things translate over to the final but most of what I'm looking to accomplish is a sense of the composition and posing/movement throughout the illustrations.

Final Fantasy 7 - update!

I wanted to share where I'm currently at with the Final Fantasy 7 painting - lots left to do, but thanks to the switch up in my pressure sensitivity I'm finding my drawings are coming along a lot easier for me(I posted up the other day about how I had issues with my tablet's sensitivity being set a little too soft). The drawings for this one are coming along smoothly, looking forward to seeing how it all ends up when painted up.
