Throwback Thursday!

Throwback Thursday - comic edition!

When I first arrived in Canada back in 2017 I started documenting certain things that happened while I was here. Comics 1,4,5 and 6 were all things that happened within the first month of me arriving. I drew them up but never scanned them in or finished them. I was waiting for more stuff to happen in an arc, but unlike in a show or series, things rarely just end and tie up in a neat bow. Stickers seem to be my most popular thing at the moment. I love to do them, I'm all about expressions and stickers are the perfect medium to really go all out; the more expressive, the better!

This was another really fun commission, I always have a good time drawing reptiles of any kind <3

Sosse the Capybara (commission)

Draw a capybara? I've never drawn one before, and after working on this, I still wonder why I never did! This was really fun to work on, and I have to give props to the commissioner for giving me such a detailed and in depth description of the character (at this point they had no visual refs for me to work with, I built this character from the ground up).

A little fun doodle I did for a friend's group chat, apparently there's a bit top:bottom ratio issue in the fandom that I'm now learning about , in the most fun way possible 💦

From one flirt to another!

Commission for SirKain on Twitter! Daz and Kendall got talking at a bar, probably about something mundane like the weather or something, but Daz was keen to make a move...however, he felt something on his shoulder; looks like Kendall beat him to it~

My first traditional piece for 2022, it was great fun getting to work with inks and markers again. For this one I used Pentel brush pen and fine liners for the inks, and Copic markers for the colours. 

Twitch stuff!

I have to say, I am really enjoying having all this time off, already I am 3 days into this vacation for art and I have produced more than I would in 3-4 weeks of a regular month  with my other job 🔥

Body pillow??

I had a friend commission me for a body pillow, which I've never done before. Really proud of the WIP so I wanted to share it with you guys. I'll post the finished version at a later date~

BitFlip Concept art

Before landing a final design for BitFlip, my code monkey character, who's comic is still in development, I went through so many different colour palettes for him before settling on the final one (or two since he has two forms). [NEW COMIC] The Next Level

Finished! A comic based on a conversation between a FWB and myself after learning that they had cocaine in the building! It was my first time trying it and it was fairly underwhelming (other than the whole snorting it off the ass of a guy I just banged), though, maybe I should have been trading stocks or working on a HollyWood film to REALLY get the full affect.

The Next Level WIP

"Our kind"

A comic based on an interaction with a new co-worker a few weeks ago. The demographic of my co-workers is predominantly Asian, with most of them being Vietnamese or Filipino. I was actually kind of excited when I heard another person from the UK was joining us, because I'd be able to enjoy talking about home with them. Sadly our very first conversation went like this... I wonder if he would have expressed his views so confidently, had I not also been a white man from the UK...

Adventure wip 2

Slowly coming along, really happy with the clouds and this gradient on the sky, forgot how fun it is to digitally paint, though I think for the rest I’ll use flat colours, maybe some brush strokes for the shadows and stuff~

Furnace

One of the nice things about being a big blue dog is the ability to generate so much heat. It saves on winter clothing and means friends want to spend more time around you, especially in the colder seasons!

This comic is based on multiple instances where people find out I can singlehandedly stave off the cold just by holding my hand~ 👉👈

Furnace WIP

Here is the first draft to the furnace comic! Most of the layout stayed the same, but the rabbit girl lost the clothing and some of the dialogue was tweaked ~

What's my name

Old comic from my trip around Europe back in 2016, I recently found the original sketch I did for the comic so I decided to upload it with the original comic too. At some point I would love to be able to make an entire comic book based on my travels across both Europe and, in later years, across the width of Canada.
