Friday Rambles 2022/10/14

At least it's still Saturday!

I was feeling under the weather for a big chunk of the week (probably from my intense travel and zine schedule from this weekend), but I'm feeling mostly better now. All the covid tests I took every day came back negative, so I'm not worried about that. Seems like a minor aches and pains thing from lack of sleep and overwork lol.

I folded 150 zines and am finishing up packing them. Will send em all out Monday. It's a lot of manual work and awfully ine...

Spy X Family Fanart Commentary

I saw that Spy X Family had started its second cour already, and I didn't realize it until 2 episodes were already out. Anyway these series of pics were inspired by happenings in episode 13. Another Friday, another rambles.

It turns out printing and folding and binding your own zines isn't very time efficient. I spent the last 4 days printing and folding and binding zines and packing orders. I'm hoping it's worth it when I get to do this all over again next month :P

[WIP] Endless Monday Monthly: Issue 1

All this week I've been working on the first issue of what I'm hoping will be a monthly publication. It's called the Endless Monday Monthly and it's a short zine featuring exclusive Endless Monday comics and illustrations and semi-autobiographical ramblings. This has been on my todo list for a very long time and I'm happy to have finally started it.

Another week, another late rambles.

A heat wave swept through my state this week. We got through it pretty fine, considering, but I woke up a lot during the night because it was too hot and we couldn't do anything outside. Also felt too lazy to do anything. Now it's nice and breezy and cool outside, so I'm going to enjoy that.

Dancing with Air Fryers (they are heavy) Full res and commentary

I drew this last night. I actually like it. It seems like a simple drawing of something silly but after a month of wallowing in misery every time I tried to draw because nothing was looking like how I wanted it to, it was a very welcome change of pace lol.

Long-time Endless Monday fans will know what this is in reference to. It is a sequel to this silly thing I also made late at night that I ended up liking a lot too. (wow! this was from 2021!)

Late August doodles full reses and commentaries

Not much to say about these honestly. All of these were drawn shortly after or before going on trips. I think this month was more about figuring out what the heck I'm doing and the results speak for themselves (ie. the crying Penny in the first pic represents me, as a tortured soul). That being said, I think I actually learned a lot through this process.

After this bit of soul searching, I had a brain blast that I need to sit down and make a plan for how I will draw what I enjoy drawing...

Friday Rambles 8/26/2022

i can't believe it's already friday.

on monday I recovered from my trip, and on Tuesday/Wednesday I played Civ VI all day. also went to costco and the mall. Thursday I finally jogged again and sat down and (gasp) started coding for fun. is nature healing? then today I got the thing into a state where I can actually use it for myself, which was really cool and rewarding, and then I finally drew some stuff after a week+ of not even looking at my drawing pen.

Another week another rambles!

This week I drew a bunch of sketches for stickers in a single sitting and was feeling pretty good and hoping to quickly knock out the lines and colors too, which was a huge miscalculation on my part. the blythe pic took like 2 evenings by itself, so it'll probably take another week to finish them all for printing.

I planned to make 4 stickers to put on the shop as a set this week, and had these sketches planned out (attached). This was supposed to be simple, but I sort of went overboard. Now I have to make the rest of them like this. Well it's good practice anyway, but the stickers might be delayed (but at least I think they will look pretty spiffy...)

Air Frye with Skye Around the World (Paris full res and next two wips)

In a flurry of inspiration after I got back from my trip I drew up a bunch of sketches for Skye visiting various different countries with her air fryer being happy because she's traveling the world instead of working in her terrible office. I just got back from a 5 day trip where I did sightseeing and eating good food. Did not do a lot of art. I'm back now, so now I can draw again.
