Dull claws ran up his arm, digging painful welts across his bicep but failing to pierce flesh. Kon twisted his hips and threw the beast behind him and down the hill, its scream of anger loud as it bounced downward and off rocks. Sweat trickled in his eyes and his chest heaved as he sucked in great gulps of air as his body burned in exertion.

It was like being submerged into the depths of the ocean, pressure, darkness, and cold that assaulted his mind. There was no way to breath, his chest constricted as the alien smothered his mind. Nearly twelve feet tall and covered in scales of shifting colors, its conical teeth were yellow and an aroma of rotting meat and death rolled across Kon and Alice. Tears filled his eyes as he repressed his gag reflex and staggered behind the one-armed woman who faced down the monster without fear.

Warmth flooded the tent that Dane’s captors dragged him into, filling every nook and cranny with prickling heat. Frozen flesh began to thaw, his chattering teeth the only noise as one of his captors kneeled in front of him, holding out a three pronged machine that had glowing golden lights on it. The native leaned back, wide ears swinging back and forth as a hardly audible clicking sound emanated from the back of its throat.

Heat started to build inside of the pod, sweat rolled down his neck and back as a rumble began to shake him. Sensors and cameras showed the thick mass of clouds moments away from consuming his pod. Bark exploded in a spray of shrapnel that peppered his face as he jerked his head back just in time to prevent himself from dying. I am now only posting 3x a week to RR and this will put us a full month ahead.
