This page has given me a lotta trouble for no good reason, haha. I was struggling a bit with Grimm and Al interacting in that I wasn't really happy with the dialogue I had planned, and all the expressions I went for just didn't work for whatever reason! They haven't had any direct interaction before now, so nothing I drew felt right. I also ended up scrapping the original dialogue for the 7th panel, where Grimm is asking Al how long he watched Ethan before he came through the Void but for

I already know I'm gonna be going through it with that countdown timer - I fiddled with the passage of time for pretty much all of my December thumbnail planning, trying to get it to whittle down at a somewhat reasonable pace for the pages, lol. I decided in the end not to swap the first and second row of panels like I had originally drafted, because I think we needed that beat of time to give Ethan a second to gather himself from the experience. Time for another Glow Up Al drawing! I didn't follow the same pose from the original 2014 (2014!!!!) art and the 2019 glow up, but arguably, not the same demon! Al's come a long way from his first (rather goblin-esque haha) iteration - I got better at drawing him and he's had a whole lot of character growth sprinkled on him in 500 pages of comic. I've moved back to doing the page roughs in a sketchbook for my December Plan-a-thon, and I wanted to share a peek at what that looks like. Er, a blurry peek. ( ´ ▽ ` )ﾉ
