AOMR 8

Just minutes ago, everything around him had been cold and desolate. Icebergs stretched as far as the eye could see, and the very air was harsh, biting with every breath. The wind was so cold, strong, and fierce that it felt like it could strip flesh from bone.

But that was only a few minutes ago. Now, the only thing left was steaming, still-bubbling water for miles around him. And he hadn't even released his Shikai—just freed the sword from the kido binding that disguised it as a cane...

“What do you think?” Jiki asked her without turning to face the much shorter girl.

“It’s lively and… bright.” He noted the faraway tone of her voice and finally turned with a raised brow to observe the joy on her face as her head spun left and right on a swivel, trying to take in everything that she could at once.

The image brought to mind Aiko, and he blissfully wondered how her attempt at making the Bolognese spaghetti she had fallen in love with was going.

It was strange the kind of thing one could get used to. It had taken weeks and more importantly, a lack of any true alternatives, but he had begun to acquire a taste for the reishi-lacking tea. The brew was earthy, and grounding, with a subtle bitterness that mirrored his current state of mind. The building he lived in was a tranquil sea in the midst of the chaos the city had become. Over the past month and a half, he found himself appreciating the calm his decisive actions had granted him.<...

Contrary to the somber mood that hung heavily over the gathered mourners, the sun was bright and the sky was clear. The serenity of the day felt like a cruel joke, a stark contrast to the sorrow that hung heavy and covered those dressed in black.

Jiki glanced briefly at the surprising form of Yuta and the dark-skinned foreigner who had fought Satoru during the Parade. The teen was supposed to have left by now. But he supposed Yuta was here to pay his respects first.

The silence that came with that revelation stretched for so long that it turned what had begun as a weird atmosphere into an uncomfortable one. Emi held her breath and stared at the four-eyed creature in front of her. Unlike the still unknown creature, her nerves showed.

The enigma sat comfortably under a sparse tree with a low seating table in front of it that held two cups of tea; one in front of it and the second in front of Emi. It gestured to the seat opposite it as it gently lifte...

A holiday.

After the past couple of days, it was one he didn't mind and one he actively enjoyed. Jiki soaked in the tub of warm water, hovering on the capacious edge between bliss and unconsciousness. At least he was until she spoke, her very voice washing away the sleep in his eyes faster than anything else.

“You’ve been smiling all day.”

He tilted his head up to her face, knowing the soft smile she mentioned remained on his face.

“Should I not?...

They sat around a round wooden table. How Toji had managed to find a traditional sake bar open this late, and how Emi convinced the owner to let them in despite their injuries, blood, and dust, as well as an unconscious girl strapped to a wheelchair, was a mystery he wasn't eager to solve.

He took slow, calming breaths while Shoko stood behind him, her palms flat on his back as her cursed technique went to work. Once again, Jiki found himself trying to follow the patterns and flow of he...

Megumi spent longer than he should have staring at the hole in the wall where his reluctant father and the Gojo scion had torn their way through. His opponent had not made that same mistake. If Toji were here, he would've had him climbing to the top of Mount Fuji again... in bare clothes only... again. Yet there was still time to rectify it.

"Surrender now. I don't want to have to hurt you." The girl spoke up behind him, and he ignored the cold feeling of steel resting on his shoulder, ...

He could swear that the woman was a fraud. He observed her, even as he stood in the corner of the room, his attention fixed on her like an eagle watching its prey. She reminded him too much of his father: a hulking mass of muscle and scars, half-asleep on the visitor's couch. for Toji Fushiguro calling it sleep was subjective; he had seen the man go from dozing off to killing three men in a second.

But it wasn't their lethality that drew his comparison; it was their shared sense of nonc...

It was a surprisingly simple thing to alter the world, or, more significantly, to overturn someone's life. A stone shifted here, a pebble moved there—rolling down a mountainside, these seemingly minor actions could unleash disastrous consequences on anyone unlucky enough to be in their path.

He found himself pondering where everything had taken a wrong turn. What the first pebble had been. Looking back, the signs should have been clear. Yet, he had chosen to overlook them, shutting hi...

Sin Eater 4

Before him stood a towering demon, its pasty pale skin was stretched taut over its massive seven-foot frame that loomed ominously. The demon was draped in a threadbare kimono, its tattered edges swaying slightly with every movement of the appendage behind it. A large tail, thick and muscular, swished lazily behind it, like a dog that had seen something interesting. Its face was a grotesque collage of asymmetrical features: three eyes of varying sizes and shapes were scattered haphazardly acro...

I walked.

I didn’t know where to, and neither did I truly care to be honest. I couldn’t imagine a life where I was forced to eat another, so I simply walked. With any luck, the sun would come up soon and end this cursed existence because I knew my body would not tire of it.

I staggered into a tree and barely bothered to reorient myself before I kept on trudging in the knee-high snow. It had snowed heavily the night before when I had been lost in my despair and wa...

Silky black locks drifted past my brows and fell over my eyes and I found myself automatically slicking it back as I continued to observe my features.

My new features shouldn't have captured my attention so intensely. They were just another oddity in this new life that I was slowly beginning to accept.

Examining my reflection in the slow-moving water winding through the forest, I regarded my features with skepticism. How could I ever hope to blend back into regular s...

He felt something stare into him once more. Something better left forgotten, its metaphysical gaze fell upon him, with an intense scrutiny that seemed to strip away layers of his being. Muscle, bones, ligament, essence, soul. He could almost feel his life flash before his eyes as something watched and read him like an open book, before finally passing its judgment... and finding him acceptable.

Then, without warning, the gaze shifted from him to Tamamo-no-Mae, and he heard the ...

End of this arc of CE.

So I’ve finalized the outline for the ending of this arc (next chapter. With an epilogue.) and I’m working on the beginning of the next.

Going to need at least a week to work that out completely. But I’m not going to leave my tier 2 guys stranded. So you pick what I’ll work on during that time. I have an idea on what is going to win anyway, but let’s see if you guys can surprise me.

He could feel the stinging of his many wounds, shallow cuts and scrapes though they might’ve been. But they stung all the same.

Reinforcement was a good substitute for when an attack could not be dodged, but a reinforced body was not an invincible one; that ability lay solely in the hands of infinity.

The sound of footsteps on blood forced him to shift his attention back to Tamamo. Her new form walked leisurely towards him, and to his shame, he noticed ...

Sukuna’s Isekai Adventures 1

The world shudders as something slips through the cracks.

His first year of life was a confusing mess of still-forming neurons, brain cells, and synapses trying to connect faster than they should.

That year was a chaotic mix of sounds, colors, and the rough feeling of threadbare cloth around his body. His strongest memory of that particular period was a sentence, one imprinted in his memory because, in another life, it was repeated with simi...

“Jiki-san” a rough voice called out from behind him, and even without turning his head, he could tell who it was. Utake Gojo. The leader of the exorcism squad deployed by the Gojo’s to help contain the mess the war was turning out to be, and also a direct descendant of Old man Takumi. "If you need our aid..." The man trailed off as he and the rest of the clan members stood a few meters away.

Jiki thought about it for a short moment as he wrapped up his hair before bundling it into...

Sin Eater (Demon Slayer SI)

I took my first breath, and it sent wet dirt and clumps of soil up my throat. I’d never woken up so fast in my life.

Shoving myself off the floor, I tried to snort out the mixture of wet soil and regain my ability to breathe. By the time I had cleared my blocked nostrils, I was very much aware that, one, I was not in my comfy bed, and two, more importantly, I was on a battlefield, or what was left of one.

Looking down at the lumps of dirt I’d breathed in and snorted out, I saw...

CE Update

Alright guys, not so good news but one I have to share anyway as a heads up if nothing else.

I might not be able to meet up to my weekly quota (This week’s chapter) of CE due to some personal issues that I have been putting off for sometime now (it has finally come to kick me in the ass). I’ll try to make it up to you guys next week. Apologies once again, and see you guys next week.

“Domain Expansion: Coffin of the Iron Mountain”

The barrier started as a black dot in the sky, one that quickly spread out from its center point above the caster so fast it would’ve taken speed on another level to dodge it. Yuta was not fast enough, even if he could comprehend what was happening.

The moment the barrier was completed, impermeable darkness descended on them all. A second later, he could feel the ground crack and break as ...

"Do you know how I came across such a curse?" he asked casually as he ducked underneath a five-fingered sideway slash by Rika—one that should have sent his guts spilling.

The new queen of curses was as violent as her new physical form indicated, but it was no real surprise. Vengeful curses that died brutal deaths always had more anger in them—rage and envy towards the still living. Her vicious yet instinctive fighting style was proof of that.

He tilted to the side to dodge a s...

Curses were boring things, creatures of brute strength and very rarely, animal cunning.

He slipped past an armor-clad blow, spun behind the humanoid figure, and grabbed onto the head with his curse energy-enhanced fists, snapping the neck.

They had no finesse and skill, which made them lack an appreciation for the finer arts of murder. He glimpsed another humanoid curse charging towards him but turned his back to it. The moment it...

Satoru-sensei looked down at her with a raised brow. Times like this, it couldn’t be clearer that he had picked up on some of Jiki’s mannerisms. Or was it the other way around?

“Don’t look at me like that, I’m serious. You once said you’ll be my shield till I am ready. I’m going to take that first step today.”

He walked up to the black-clad man and stopped directly in front of him, considering his options.

It was a stretch to say he was averse to killing the man, as noble a warrior as he might have been to secure the life of the whelp first. No, few things could change his mind when he had decided on a path, and self-doubt was not something he knew.

He had been lost and untethered ever since he arrived on this plane. On on...

It was late in the afternoon, with the sun blazing down fiercely, and Jiki sat beneath his favorite tree. It had grown to be one of his favorite places over the past few months.

The wide sweeping branches and lengthy leaves shaded him adequately, regardless of what he was doing, be it painting, meditating, or just observing the katas his friends and classmates were moving through.

Today, he had decided on meditation, at least that is what it must...

“Will you walk with me?” the man asked cordially. A request instead of a command, not a tone Jiki would have expected with one with so much power. Before Jiki could form a response, Shoko replied in his stead.

“Of course he will, we’re just about done talking.” She turned to face him, and with her long bangs blocking her face from the man, she mouthed to him in a serious tone, ‘Play nice.’

He thought about it. He wanted to refuse the man on sheer impulse. The council...
