Stop motion image: Page 1 of 'Notel'

Yesterday—Wednesday—I drew the first page of Notel.

My interns and I will document much of the behind-the-scenes process as I create this comic. I am experimenting with screen-capture software, that will allow you to see the way my artwork evolves as I draw it.

See above for a stop-motion GIF that we created, based on Page 1 of Notel

Ballot Box Comics: winner is 'Notel'

Voting has concluded in my Ballot Box Comics initiative.

It was a close race, with just one vote separating the first and second-placed options.

The winning idea was Notel, about a town in Canada that did not get television reception until the 1970s.

I want to thank everyone who voted for the comic that  they wanted me to draw next. Your support means so much to me. It is my  crowdfunding ...

New website design of stuartmcmillen.com

Last week I relaunched a recoded stuartmcmillen.com, with a stylish modern look.

This blog post (one for the trainspotters!) describes the differences between the old and new.

I am posting this item to thank you for your crowdfunding patronage, which allowed me to afford this redesign.

As you probably know, websites don't come cheap, but I think I got a good deal by using some upcoming young bucks from my coworking office!

Taster Tuesdays 2017-10: Blocking the web

This is a taste of a separate comic to what I shared last week. This one is about me deliberately blocking the web from my life during certain hours, to aid my focus.

It is a separate comic to the 'Taster Tuesdays' piece that I shared last week. But along similar lines.

Can't wait to share these with you soon. There is a lot happening behind the curtain. Including finalising a new website to host all of these new comics on!

Plans afoot

Hi everyone,

A quick update:

• A website developer is currently building me a new website. It will be a modern, responsive way to display my past and future comics.

• I am currently holding back 3 comics - waiting until that website is live to showcase them. Thanks for your patience.

• I am also going to be a more active YouTuber. My first videos will be all about comics recommendations.
