PWP: Should Sabah Trigger?

To be clear, I feel I can write a decent story with or without Sabah. However, I'm somewhat conflicted in what I want for her going forward.

This question isn't "Does it make canonical sense for her to trigger?" The answer isn't important. Don't worry about logical progression, just think about what you think might make for a more entertaining story.

PWP: 3.15.5 Surge

Preface

I'm dropping two chapters in public this weekend so it's only fair you get two as well.

Interlude 3.15.5: Various

Melanie Fitts

2010, November 9: Brockton Bay, NH, USA

I looked out over the Palanquin dance floor as I filled in an acquisition form for yet more liquor. The club was a never-ending gullet. More than seven thousand dollars per month on alcohol alone, never min...

2010, November 16: Brockton Bay, NH, USA

“Hey, Bryce, got a minute?” Dean called as I got out of English lit. I’d been looking forward to finishing up a few more commissions so I could get Big Rig to make me more fabricators and drones. Alas, Dean seemed rather insistent on a quick chat.

I turned to our ever-upright student pres with a smile. “Yo, what’s up, Dean? You need something?”

“Not me personally. Walk w...

War: 3. Salt

Preface

Commission chapter. PWP incoming on Friday.

Chapter 3: Salt

Collin Wallis, Armsmaster

I looked at the man calling himself Atreus with a critical eye. He was not a tall man; he stood at an unremarkable five-nine, but he had a body like a Greek statue. I had some doubts about his Cas-22 status, but my lie detector indicated that he spoke truthfully, at least as far as he was aware.

That alo...

Spoon: 3.9 Soup

Preface

Yes, PWP won and that means 2 of my weeks will be dedicated to it, but I did post PWP last week so let's start the month with some spoon.

Soup 3.9

Aaron Fulan

Oldale Town, Hoenn Region

Onale and I stared each other down from across the field. The break was mostly for her torchic to catch his breath and they were fully recovered now. Given what I’d seen of the pair so fa...

Monthly Poll: July 2023

Oof. counting the people whose votes count twice, PWP won out over Spoon 113:109. It's weird how close that is. I might do an even release of both this month. Anyway, you know how this works. I'm going to get back to writing more Homeless Bunny because it's fun.

Preface

Second PWP for the month.

Surge 3.14

2010, November 14: Brockton Bay, NH, USA

It took me exactly thirty-two minutes to get where I wanted, though I supposed I could have stopped at any point past a hundred miles. The ocean stretched as far as the eye could see, blue and gray and ominous and majestic all at once. The waves roiled below my feet and I was struck by the eerie silence of it all.

War: 2. Sugar

Chapter 2: Sugar

Atreus, Aspect of War

I stared up at the stars, confused beyond comprehension. I found myself in some kind of forest clearing; the silhouettes of buildings loomed tall and dark in the distance. Never had I claimed to be a sage, but being an Aspect for so long, I knew more about the fabric of creation than most could ever claim. I jumped into the Void. Not that false shadow of Runeterra that housed Cho’Gath, but deeper still. Dee...

Right, last week was PWP and week before that was Spoon, then PWP again so let's do another LT. Haven't had that in a while. I'm thinking a few more shorter chapters from different perspectives before we finally return to Andy.

War: 1. Starter

Preface

Yes, another story. Not my fault (this time). Someone commissioned me to insert Pantheon (Atreus) into Worm because they wanted to see literal War stab an endbringer in the face. I’m going to really, really try to make this one shorter than around 20k words. I’d like to say I’ve finished a story for once, lol. Knowing me though, that’s not going to happen.

So, I bring you, Let Ther...

2010, November 14: Brockton Bay, NH, USA

The rest of the week passed in that paradoxical way that was both a blur and a lazy lull. Strider’s delivery went well; he delivered $60,000 worth of various materials for construction, the bulk of which was volcanic ash.

The fabricator I purchased from Big Rig and the forge beneath Harvey’s were now running near constantly to produce a constant flow of seastone. In fact, I had to build...

Preface

Not a weekly chapter. I owe you guys PWP this week.

Liftoff 1.4

April 2015

I headed back outside to load up on whatever the good folks of Sierraville left behind and began my trek towards Lake Tahoe. Carnelian Bay was, according to the travel guide I picked up from the ranger station, an unincorporated community made up of about 500 people. The guide advertised lakeside sports like fishing, spe...

Soup 3.8

Aaron Fulan

Oldale Town, Hoenn Region

I woke up the next morning and shoved the pink blob of not-quite-mutton off my face. One of the best parts of her evolution in my humble opinion was that she no longer had wool over most of her body, leaving instead a short, downy fur that felt luxuriously silky to the touch and, more important...

PWP: Bryce's Fourth Specialization

As promised, here are the five selections based on RNG. Keep in mind that Bryce can make things that were created, not things that are naturally occurring. For example, Bryce wouldn't get access to FT's dragonslayer magic, but creating things like Nirvana wouldn't be out of the question.

Also keep in mind where he is with relationships, resources, and position in the Bay. Some specializations are more useful than others based on circumstance.

Monthly Poll: June 2023

5/5/23 Edit: Hijacking my own pin. You know what I haven't written in a while? Bunny. I've decided that instead of any of my other posts, I'm going to run double lives of my Bunny quest this weekend.

You know how this works.

Also, please vote on the PWP poll for Bryce's next specialization. As I said yesterday, I rolled five numbers and those became your choices.

PWP Omake: Spontaneous Duck

Preface

So… I wanted to make another PWP PHO interlude and got sucked into making it. Somewhere along the line, I forgot that SAINT was a secret and wondered how he’d reveal himself. This doesn’t line up well with the conversations Bryce and Amy had, and those are genuinely too important to go back and edit, so this is getting stuffed into an omake.

Enjoy the free laughs.

The pokemon center was as humble as the rest of the town. Which wasn’t to say it wasn’t well-equipped; if there was one thing this world’s humans took seriously, it was pokemon and healthcare for said pokemon, but it was clear that the building could use some renovation. Actually, looking around, a lot of buildings were like that. Most were traditional log houses, with onl...

Author's Notes

I have a quick question for you all. In my patron rewards section, I say that I will give all of you a public shoutout. I've done so, but the list of names has gotten quite long and people are starting to accuse me of buffing my wordcount with them (like that matters), especially on FFnet where it's not possible to hide the list under a spoiler box.

How do you feel I should handle this?

I'll keep this up for a few days so people have a chance to comment.

Apocalypse: 1.3 Liftoff

Liftoff 1.3

April 2015

I thought they were rats at first but the bite marks were far too large to have come from any normal rodent.

Just then, I heard Rocket begin to growl lowly. It wasn’t the affectionate chuff or sarcastic bark I was familiar with but the kind of growl that sent goosebumps standing on my arms. It meant we weren’t alone.

“Paw!” I heard a shout before the darkened store lit up with electricity.

Liftoff 1.2

April 2015

If the world warmed up in the past two months, I didn’t notice. Even in mid-April, temperatures never rose above forty-five degrees during high noon and fell well below freezing at night. The cold was so bad that I’d stretched a sixteen day hike from Bend to Tahoe to a solid two months. Sometimes, it was all I could do to huddle inside my thermal sleeping bag with my oversized ferret for most of the day.

I was given the theme of “apocalypse survival” and told to go nuts. I didn’t want to rip off Napalm’s fic so settled for a completely different premise and fandom. View Post

Troll: 4. Obligatory Diagon

Chapter 4: Obligatory Diagon

London, Great Britain

There was a small square filled with several public fireplaces just to the side of Diagon Alley that played the same role as a bus stop or subway station in the muggle world. After all, it’d be really weird if the only entrance to the biggest magical shopping quarter in Magical Britain was through a rundown tavern. While I had no doubt that Tom loved the flow of traffic and increased business, h...

Durvasa watched as Artoria and I slowly moved through our katas, mirroring one another in perfect harmony. His eyes were narrowed in annoyance at the seemingly languid pace, but also in contemplation.

I did it. I managed something people have been attempting ever since we had two brain cells to rub together: I talked to Fate.

Sort of. At least, I received a letter from Fate, which was more than most could say.

It was terrifying. I talked about defying Fate as an ambition, about “being my own man,” but now that I was faced with the potential prospect… I felt like an ant who had been...

It wasn’t over.

I slouched in my armor and leaned on my halberd for support. The combat module I was running attempted to mirror Hyunmu’s martial art, but perhaps because it was tailored for a much younger body, performing the same flowing dance was extremely taxing on me.

I’d downgraded my internal temperature control program in favor of the imp...

I whistled a jaunty tune to myself as I skated along the rooftops towards the Palanquin. Today? Yesterday, technically, had been a great day.
