I feel this comic relies too much on knowing the underlying meaning to this and it isn't worded how I had wanted. The idea is there, the presentation is not! It's been sitting in our back stock for awhile... well here we go. I personally don't like this episode.
The background tv shows two characters from a previous comic series we worked on that prior to Adorkable Twilight, was one of our most popular comic series.

Almost caught up! This was our Hearts and Hooves day special. Originally we had three comics planned for release on this day or to be staggered through "Valentines Week." One was going to include Twilight, Trevor, and an unknown stallion. The other was going to have Spike and Lily. Instead we played some safe ground and did a mini shout out to all our friend's who celebrated Singles Day.

Originally set to be a multi-part mini arc, it was shelved after this episode. We may come back in the near future, but we were going to include many characters and allow for Twilight and Amethyst to get to know each other more.
This episode scored poorly among people which may have led us to stop the arc, especially after the low ratings from the Apple Bloom arc (Which we will still finish telling!).
Also Mr. Cake's first appearance ever!

I fought tooth and nail to not use "Hall Pass" for the title! But I lost out in the end. I felt the name could have been used for a comic much more related in the future... but you can't win them all. We also see Twilight DOES indeed still exist and she does do speeches still. It had been about a two week dryspell since we'd seen her.

If you recall a few months ago we had listed a roadmap of ideas we wanted to publish. This was one of them. About three episodes in, it received the lowest ratings ever. So that's on us. I guess no one wanted to read about Apple Bloom and give her character some depth as well as build up the world. But stay tuned, her relationship she will make will build overtime and she will grow with a lesson Applejack and Big Mac are trying to promote.

Adorkable Twilight herself won't appear much the next two weeks, nor will any of our usual characters. I am excited about this upcoming arc (which historically will mean no one else will like it!) But it's going to be a great character building moment. Not so much humor, but more story driven. Hopefully that will work out... It's hard coming up with jokes all the time.
It's even more sad when a single doodle I draw gains more traction that a comic we spent days working...
