I've been re-reading Delicious in Dungeon recently, and I love how solid and tangible the art feels, and just how good the artist is at different faces and body types. It makes me want to get back into figure drawing when I get the chance.

Changes to tiers/rewards

Hey everyone! I wanted to give an early heads up about some changes that I'll be implementing next month! I'm adding a few things plus moving some rewards around.

The biggest change comes to phone wallpapers - originally, these were mostly going to be crops of existing work that only happened occasionally, which is why they were available at the $1 tier. "Morning Ritual" Process

This one is from last year, but it's still a favorite of mine, so I want to talk about it a little!

1) The thumbnail, which was drawn in Procreate on an iPad 9.7". Originally she actually had bunny ears, too, but since bunny ears are so tall, they pushed the composition too far down, so I erased them. I've had Tales of Symphonia on my mind lately for some reason! I really really want to play it again and then make a nice print of it one day.

I'm also considering opening chibi commissions sometime in the future, so I'm practicing drawing them in the meantime (also I just think they're super fun to draw)

I've been having a lot of fun making wallpapers and want to make more, but I always have a hard time choosing between ideas, so I want to start running polls to help determine what the next one will be! (PS, I'm really glad you've been enjoying them, too!)

Things have gotten a little busy over here, but I'm still trying to make room for sketching! We ended up having to extend our spontaneous kitten fostering, and I've also started putting together a pitch for what will hopefully become a new book. It'll probably be a while before I can share anything from it, but I can't wait for you guys to see it!!

I drew a little Ichigo for fun, but any time I draw her I have to draw the others, so now I'm planning to turn them all into a cute phone wallpaper set! Maybe they could also be mini prints?

I also doodled a patron request (Leorio with a big bouquet), but that naturally led to me drawing Gon and Killua, too. I feel like I've finally started to get a handle on Gon's hair, so I want to try drawing them more.

This is a page from The Sprite and the Gardener that people seemed to like, so I want to talk about it a little bit! Since this was drawn a while back I don't have a ton of specific process notes, so this will be a little more about my thoughts along the way.

Weekly Sketchbook #11

Did a little more traditional sketching this week! I've decided I want to start pushing myself to color whatever I put down in my sketchbook, since I feel like it might help me think up new techniques. I actually really like the way these look lineart-wise, though, so I'd kind of like to try making some prints this way eventually. (I also want to make a full set of TMM girls to match the Mint... I'm thinking about it)

"Steven Universe" Full res + PSD + Lineart

I want to try something new around here, so every once in a while I'm going to pick one of my older retired prints and post a full res JPEG / layered PSD / lineart! While my methods have changed a lot over the years, I still think that it could be fun to click through and see how it all comes together. The PSD also includes the thumbnail and sketch.
