The Average DC Experience #298

"The enemy of my enemy is my friends, eh...?" I said, raising an eyebrow as I looked at Godfrey, still holding his hands high in surrender. "We humans do like that saying, don't we?" I added with a chuckle as I slowly approached the New God.

"That's right. Darkseid has been a thorn in your planet's side for the longest time, and he will continue to be unless he's dead," Godfrey said, still arguing his case as he watched me approach.

"True. Teaming with you to stop Darkseid sounds ...

East Clover Forest

I grunted as I gripped the charging giant boar's tusks, flipping it to its side, causing it to squeal and flail wildly on the ground. I didn't hesitate as I reached into my spear, embedded into the dirt beside me, and buried it into the beast's skull.

"Looks like we're gonna be eating well today for a while, Heat..." I said with a grin as I turned to the tall young man, who was watching the battle in...

'The Helmet of Fate... of course, why the fuck not...?' I bitterly mused as I sensed the obscene amount of energy radiating out of Godfrey's body, a giant golden Ankh symbol appearing behind him.

Arguably, the most dangerous weapon in the DC continuity, guarded by the consciousness of a Lord of Order. Yet somehow, it fell into the hands of a second-rate villain. Classic DC moment, if I've ever seen any.

"Arrogant human..." Godfrey said through gri...

"So... do we have a deal...?" Nyoka asked with a grin as he extended his hand toward Kid, having spent the past two hours discussing the terms of our integrating us into his gang.

Kid didn't like it, Killer didn't like and I sure as shit didn't either, but we had no choice but to agree. Even Nyoka's reason for going after us was pure bullshit, as we were sure not to step on anyone's toes when choosing our jobs.

Almost every job we received and fin...

Glorious Godfrey couldn't help but grit his teeth in frustration as he watched his warships fall one the other, gunned down by the energy canons rapidly firing from within the city's energy field.

Though he hated to admit it, the humans had created quite a formidable fortress. The energy shield protected the city's infrastructure from the assault while allowing the various machines and weapons to fire without hindrance, making it impossible to attain victory with sheer ...

'What the fuck am I turning into...' I couldn't help but sigh as I looked in the mirror, barely recognizing the chiseled face and the pair of cold-blues eyes staring back at me.

It's been since months since Kid caught me literally and figuratively red-handed. Since then, I continued running errands for our little gang, successfully finishing tens of jobs.

As one would expect, not every errand ended smoothly, and I had to kill three more people, which, as I suspected, never became ...

One day after the start of the invasion

Gotham

'I'd like anyone to see anyone try and attack the city now...' I mused as I added the last touches to the last of the five shield generators I'd installed on the edges of Gotham.

Apokoliptan warships had incredible technology. Naturally, I wouldn't be me if I didn't instantly salvage whatever I could from them and use it to defend the city.

The shield generators were ...

'Ok... something is definitely going on...' I mused as I watched several seedy-looking individuals glancing at me and whispering amongst themselves with smiles full of mockery.

Suddenly, a thunderous war horn, which seemed to reverberate all over the planet, sounded as the gigantic figure in the sky broke through the cloud, revealing a towering space.

Several more ships appeared, dotting the sky as they came to a stop, a swarm of winged humanoid creatures emerging as they rapidly descended toward the ground.

"Holy shit! It's an invasion!" Grayson exclaimed, wide eyes as he watched the horrifying spectacle, his voice bare...

"103... 104..." I muttered, feeling refreshed as I completed one last push-up and ended my training session when I noticed Vicky walking into the room, seemingly in a hurry.

It has been six months since I woke up in the body of Cedric, and I spent most of that time studying The Method. The material was complicated, and I barely scratched the surface, but I reaped many benefits, even with what little I could decipher.

To my meager understanding, The Meothod relied on visualization ...

My breathing grew shallow and rapid as reality set in, and my face hit the ground. I didn't even have the mental capacity to spit the dirt in my mouth as I reached for the closest rock I could find.

Unfortunately, Newland noticed my actions and quickly stomped my wrist, causing me to shout in pain as I turned around. "Let-let's just talk this over? Please?" I said as I turned around and found the pointy end of a cutlass sword hanging over my head.

Kara couldn't help but wince, unable to do anything as she watched Grayson go off on her cousin without even giving him a chance to speak or defend himself.

She knew Kal needed to hear some of what Grayson said and understood why the latter was frustrated, as her cousin tended to act careless quite often, and it would always cause problems. Unlike Kal and Coner, Kara was not that naive to believe she could solve every problem in the world without shedding blood.

Author's note: I know a lot of ya'll wanted a marvel story, but that timeline is a mess, and it requires a lot of work, which I can't do, considering how little free time I currently have.

This is more of a trial than an actual story. Something to distract me from the plot bunnies I keep getting so I can focus on finishing the dc story without cutting corners.

I might take this new story seriously and pour more time and focus into it after I finis...

As of chapter 280, Grayson had done basically tied every loose end he had except for one which will be resolved in a couple more chapters.

His character development is also at a stage that I'm satisfied with, meanning there's only one thing to do, which is to end the story, after expanding into space or something along those lines, but there's a slight problem.

There's a lot, and I mean a lot of shit in space, meaning it would take a lot of chapters to go through them as thoroughl...
