VIDEO: The Incredible Shrinking Animatic

I hope everyone's enjoyed SONIC: THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING HEDGEHOG, which just released today!

As a Paintreon bonus, I'm sharing the entire animatic. Most of it was drawn by me, but the one scene with Metal and Sage was by King. And I revised it a bit. But it was largely them.

PICTURE: Bird Poo Humor

So, during production of PART 2 of my next Mashed cartoon, I was suggested to add a particular joke to the animatic.

Essentially, there's a scene with a giant bird. And Tom wrote in his notes for the animatic that it should make a big poo on Eggman's head. My internal gut reaction was "What the hell? I'm not doing that." It would have required extra voice acting and just added a weird bump in the middle of the scene, all for Bird Poo Humor.

CLIP: Startcast Animatic First Minute

The audio from this is from a table read we did so you'll hear un-pitch-corrected Alvin, Simon, and Theodore.

I wanted to voice Back Row Jane (the one who greets the Toads at the door) but I was woefully denied, as I apparently voice too many characters. I COULD HAVE DONE IT. I only voice myself, all three Toads, T. Owner, and D. Owner. I've got the range for it, ok....

CLIP: The new Orbot and Cubot

Another shot from the upcoming animation for Mashed!

This one I'm quite happy with! It's a pretty simple shot so I was able to get this together in a couple days. I'm getting more and more adjusted to working in CSP.

Other than that... Not much else to say, really! Um, here, because theres no audio I can let you guess what theyre saying? Haha, I dunno. Anyways, crazy busy, hope I survive this next month, yadda yadda.

CLIP: Bit of acting

Whenever I get the audio back from the actors, I never actually have any interaction with said actors or know who any of them are until the video is fully uploaded. SO I was a little surprised when I found out yesterday that the voice of Sonic in this cartoon is one Chase Corbin! Ah, he's the one who played the Talking Flower in Floweratouille.

Sharing this bit of animatic that I think came out really well. Imagine how it's gonna look ANIMATED!

I had all of this written down, that the machine aims directly for Tails and Sonic dives in the way to protect him, but it was a little difficult pinning down the best way to convey it on a shot-by-shot basis. The most effective divulgence of information. It's gotta move quick out here, zap zap!
