You can get the tutorial here and the supplement here. The supplement this month has a bunch of questions to challenge the effectiveness of your face acting, body acting, acting convincingness, and some meta creator considerations as usual!

Anyways, hope you like them. And hope you have a nice ...

Clean Up Your Acting Tutorial

The new tutorial for August!

Supplement worksheet is here for $10+ Patrons this month!

Phew! This tutorial took forever. I decided the past few tutorials were too text-heavy, so I tried to make this one more image-ful :]

This tutorial is about common acting mistakes that I've seen in webcomics, and how to correct them. I actually read a lot of webcomics, but the vast ma...

MI345 Preview/ small news

Just a small gif preview of the next page in progress~

The tutorial will be up tomorrow! I am mega burned out and I just took another look at what I have, and I think it needs one more round of editing. Since it's the end of the month, please let me know if you are in the situation of having dropped down from the $10+ level; definitely want to make sure you get what you paid for in August! I will get the tutorial/ supplement to you via email instead that way to make sure you get what you're ow...

MI Stuff- Major anatomy/ crests

One of these wacky posts XD For a refresher on Majors, see this post. This post probably has some info that could be construed as a spoiler, but only in hind-sight. So unless you don't want any background info at all unless it comes up in the comic, you can read safely.

So, a long-ago Martian-like ancestor once lived in the surf zone and on the coasts of the sea, eating animals embedded in the great cliff...

Little schedule update

Hi guys,

Just wanted to say sorry for the lack of comic updates, I've been busy with the Kickstarter for sure but a lot of my focus has also been on my SO; his father was recently in a very bad car accident. Unfortunately after a few stressful weeks in the ICU, he passed away tonight, and obviously my largest priority has shifted to supporting my partner and his family. I'm not a huge fan of public oversharing but I felt like I should let you guys know that this is an abnormal situation. I und...

TM Stuff- refpocalypse

One of the many things I didn't expect to have to do for the KS; put together ref sheets. It took such a long time T__T I art directed a game for a while, and a large part of my job was providing reference and directions to my overseas team of artists; it makes things go a lot smoother when you are able to be very specific about the details. In this case though, I am trying to give the contributing print artists as much freedom to draw what they want, which means a balance of giving a lot of imp...

Hi all! You've probably seen me talking about this everywhere already but, the Meek V1 Kickstarter is live! Not only that, but it's fully funded :U Everything happened very fast. That means these books are guaranteed to get made, and at this point I am just pushing to make sure that everyone who wants one can get one, and that the books will ...

The Tide minicomic

This was the first polished Meek comic I ever drew, even before Chapter 1. I was still pretty novice at making "real" comics... prior to that, I had only made the Snowball comics to sell for a dollar each at APE 2007, haha. APE 2008, also in October, was coming up, and I wanted to try my hand at something more stylistically similar to what I was aiming for with the launch of the real comic in Dec 2008. I sold these for a few bucks a piece but, nobody knew what it was for at the time since the co...

July Shingworks Tutorial is now up! plus secret

Hello!

The gigantic July Tutorial and July Supplemental Worksheet are both available now! You probably know I love researching and integrating research into my comics, and I was really glad that people were interested in finding out how to do it too. I've put all of my personal techniques in there, and we are even lucky enough...

July Shingworks Tutorial support worksheet

Here you go! 11 Pages of supplement material this month to go with this month's tutorial.  I think it's growing every month XD Enjoy the value. A bunch of example problems, practical applications and some reflection at the end to help you figure out how to use all of these skills in your own work!

As usual, anyone who needs help on this subject matter in particular and would like some 1:1 a...

Researching for Comics tutorial

The 11-page supplement worksheet that goes along with this month's tutorial is available at the link for this month!

The new tutorial for July is here~ This month's topic is about researching for comics. A lot of my readers enjoy that I integrate realistic concepts into my work. Some of that has to do with my science background, but most of it has to do with knowing what to research, ...

update/ TM Stuff- Cover sketch

HI

Been a bit absent, but working very hard. Kickstarters, tutoring, building a website, finishing a side comic, maintenance work, indoors termite swarm, and bad health on my end... Then this weekend my boyfriend's father was in a car accident and broke his neck, so. Yeah. Real Life. Sometimes it feels like each month is more difficult than the last, haha, but gotta keep going.  Got an MI page going up tomorrow, then the tutorial/ worksheet for this month up soon after, then more M...

TM Stuff- deSadars

Oh god I drew this picture in 2008 help

I've been kind of flippant in the Meek site posts but, I like this chapter a lot. I like the dynamic between the kids, and their shitty dad.

The deSadar name itself is a concession to modern times; Luca's actual surname is Sadr, and pronounced far more gutturally like most Basori is. A large part of his rise to power was based on the theme of unification against a common enemy in the South, and to prove his commitment, he changed his s...

MI prev 333-337

[right click image to make larger/readable]

Well, 333 did go up this month, but here are the other planned pages

When I type a script, I only ever do it in Notepad. It's the worst format ever because my computer tends to crash, and Notepad is so basic that I can't undo more than once and lose chunks of writing every time, haha. I end up rewriting scenes a lot, but I secretly like it because it forces me to keep improving. I start a new script file for every chapter and write ...

Thank you again for your support in June. I got hit hard last month with a ton of work and life/ health Stuff that I don't normally deal with... The long and short of it was I realized I wouldn't be able to do everything I needed to do, and have to push all of my personal comics work from last month into July. I am going to do my best to get out 21 pages in July between TM and MI, but, you can read the pag...

Writing for Webcomics tutorial

Supplementary worksheets for this tutorial are here

Well... this one was a doozy XD I have never done a tutorial about writing before... I tried to make this as specific to webcomics as possible while making it as general to genre or style as I could... I put years of thoughts on writing into this tut so hopefully you find it helpful and/or interesting.

I usually add my caveat on there but it ...

Little update~

Sorry for being so offline this month, I've been working like crazy but can't really show much of it yet... art above is a little preview for a comic I'm finishing up now for the Elements anthology coming soon to KS. LEVi is a levitating imager! Developed by the extreme robotics company Ascension Drive, this robot who captures images and geological data in places that would otherwise be inaccessible by humans. Despite all of this, LEVi doesn't really go underwater, which probably would have been a nice feature. HINDSIGHT
