I loooove this song. One of my fav. About 3 years ago I already made my own instrumental for this one. This is how I played the solo - you can check this link on my facebook:
https://www.facebook.com/alyona.yarushina/videos/10208468144740725
But i didn't like the instrumental I made, too dry. And It needed to be very juicy. After several more attempts to chan...

Only the Lonely - Frank Sinatra. 1958
I got the request to record this one. At first I didn't want to do it - this song is not popular on YouTube - so I'm sure I will get very small amount of views for this one. But I like sometimes to step out and do something very unusual, very classic, very strange and complicated. This melody is very weird, It is so much not cliche, when I was learning the song - I recorded a demo - I did several takes because I was trying to find "my manner" there ...

First I heard this song from a cartoon Shrek. Prince's mom - a witch - was singing this song lying on a grand piano ahahahhah. I didn't know it was a song of Bonnie Tyler. Then some people started suggesting it for me to record. I wasn't sure all this time how it would sound on my channel. I didn't know how majority of people perceive this song - is it too cheesy, too funny, too fluffy, too fairy-tailish, too disco, too popy, or some other tooo's. But once I checked it and I w...

1984 today!
I used to listen to Chicago some years ago all the time. It's one of my favorite bands. Interesting - it was the era of Jason Scheff that I loved the majority of the songs from. Not Peter Cetera, however I love how Cetera sings too.
My 3 most fav songs are - Will you still love me, Niagara Falls and God Save the Queen. When I was about 18 I did myself 2 instrumentals on my old keyboards - Niagara and God save the queen. I recorded them on my old lap top. Some yea...

80s again!!! Loved this one - I first heard it only one month ago and was in love with this song! I added some high voices in the chorus too, because I felt like for my high voice going down to the chorus (normally all the choruses are higher in notes then verses to create a bigger emotional impact in songs. In this one the choruses are lower) drops the dynamic of the song.
Thank you for your support!

Pop, Soft-Rock - this is the description of this genre that I found on Wikipedia. Sometimes it's hard to say the genre - I feel the Carpenters just sing songs ahahhaha. I love this song, I was listening to it since I was about 18 years old. At that time I was collaborating with Mike - Sina's father, and he told me that my singing reminded him of Karen Carpenter. I found some of her songs and was listening to it for several years. Only now I decided to record it. Because the l...

Back to the 60s! I love singing Aretha Franklin - I am thinking about recording more of her songs. So let me know if you know of other songs that I might record :))
This song has a lot of light. I have people compaining about my song choises pretty often, so I let you know that I can only choose the ones that I like, I'm not about the genre, I'm more about the song. However some genres I just don't get - Like hip hop or rap, or punk or very heavy metal. Just doesn't resonate ...

Hey guys. Back with the 80s again, this time interesting genre - I would call it alternative pop, or psychedelic pop. I'm not a big fan of a genre itself, but I liked the melody, harmony and the pulsation of this song. What would you say? Do you like this genre?
We are not in the hotel anymore, finished our Christmas and New Year's shows. But we are still in Florida now - staying with friends. If it's close to 68 F I am wearing double pants, that's how cold I get ...

And I had no idea Janis did a cover on this one. I thought it was her song! I already recorded this one for one other channel, not for mine, but I don't like it very much. So I really wanted to make this one for my own portfolio.
As you can see - the background changed. At that moment we were in Florida, Clearwater, in a hotel. I was invited to perform on Christmas parties with my long time friends. But to get to the actual hotel we had to stay in another hotel for "qu...

I keep collecting KISS songs for my portfolio, this one was a lot of fun to do. First of all in the original official music video Paul is dancing like a doll. You might think I tried to copy him - but no, the song itself does that to you. On contrary - I was trying to make myself stand still and just perform. The more KISS songs I make - the more I want to perform all them on stage with a great rock band, that would be so cool - I love their melodies and harmonies combined with tha...

Happy New Year!!!!!!!!!! Hope this one will be much better then 2020. For me last year was the best year in my life, we got visas and moved to the place I love, I feel great here. I know, for many this year was tough but I also know many people who re-thought a lot of things in their life, started care about small things, air and nature, seeing the sun.... Stopped rushing and started feeling and perceiving better. I thank you all for the support this year and I wish you all an amazing year - ...

Merry Christmas!! ❤️❤️❤️
1960! But it was written I guess in 1941, but it became very famous when Etta James did it. I'm glad I found the instrumental that is very 50-s/60-s. Before I was singing this song all the time on many events with a "Celine Dion version" track and it was lack of that velvety 60s sound and my singing was't fitting that much. Now I finally felt how much instrumental means... I love going deep into those older times sometimes. It doesn't brin...

This song is very popular on YouTube and I'm very glad it is, even though I never heard of this band - Kansas, I heard this song somewhere - maybe on the radio.
I love their live performance of it - their lead singer is an AMAZING vocalist and a you know I'm mostly a fan of male singers and singing. Female I only love Whitney and Ella Fitzgerrald, and also Saraya or Ann Willson - if we talk about rock.
I enjoyed doing this one so much.
Happy Holi...

Another 80s famous tune by Starship. Some time ago I already did Nothing's gonna stop us now. One of my friends in the past auditioned me to this group to replace Grace Sleek, but because they already had a girl singing with them, she first couldn't continue, but then she could. But I'm glad, because I can do what I want to do. Sometimes I had offers to sing in a Michael Jackson tribute, ABBA tribute and so on, but i didn't want to limit myself with just one tribute band. I wouldn'...

This one was written by Brian May and recorded first time in 1988, I had never heard this song before one month ago. It has a lot of pain, I was wondering what would have happened they would write such lyrics... so much pain and despair in this one...
Of course too much love can't kill, it can only bring you up.. It just «headed for disaster» for him. Strong but not very popular Queen song! I loved it.

Back to the 70s! I looove this song so much, for it's complicated chords and that changing and a bit painful melody. First time I heard it 3 months ago. It's not the most popular on YouTube though, but it's one of Boston's biggest hits as I know.
Amazing tune!

Wow so stupid, all this time I thought it was Sinead's song and Prince made a cover on it. And just now when I was uploading this video and researching in Wikipedia, I found out it's Prince's song and she made a cover on it!
So this song was written in 1985. When I was a kid I saw the music video of Sinead singing it on MTV. I have always been very modest and old fashioned, so to me a bald girl meant something wrong and dangerous, and also I loved "Whitney's" skilled vocalists, so I tho...

Back home! Virginia! It's very beautiful at home it was very cold first couple of days but then it got warmer and warmer and now I can wear a tee shirt outside again!
This is the first one I filmed here back at home. But I recorded it on the ship, my friend set things up for me there - I had a cabin in the end of a corridor where I can shout like crazy, he gave me microphone and an audio device. I had my computer with me. So I recorded some songs. Couldn't film it there though, di...

No Quarter - one of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs, the drama of it is very me. I was listening to this song about 6 years ago - my english wasn't that good - so all I could understand was the line "All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You" and I thought it was very romantic song and I loved it very much.
Then I read the lyrics - and I didn't like it, and I was a bit disappointed in this band - how could Heart sing this? But this song is very popular and it was requested so I recorded it anyway. But today when I was reading Wikipedia about this song to a...

After Bruce Kulick, KISS's former guitarist uploaded my Reason to Live cover on his Facebook page - some more KISS fans subscribed on my channel. I got loads of new requests - I am really into 80s KISS stuff now. I love their melodies and harmonies and also the manner of singing is my fav. It's very straight, easy, nothing additional. Just sing the note - and you're done ahahahah. Well, emotions do shake the straightness of the singing sometimes which supposed to be this way. And s...

Hey guys! Exclusive here for some of you who is interested! So here’s one of my earlier performances - 3 years ago - singing Led Zeppelin with Brian Tichy (Whitesnake, Billy Idol, Ozzy Osbourne and more).
Pre-story: In 2015 Brian came to Russia to do Bonzo Bash show - when different drummers play Led Zeppelin music, I was invited as a singer of a LZ tribute band, I sang half of songs on that show.
Later in 2017 Brian Tichy came to Moscow with his band the Dead Dais...

This one was in YouTube recommendations after I was listening to some Journey, loved this song so much and next day it was recorded.
Interesting, I saw an interview with Steve Perry and he said that he quit music for many years because he was just burned out, with all those tours, gigs, over and over, too much tiredness, physical and moral I guess. I understand him a lot, that's a lot of work behind all those gigs and tours, sleepless nights and so on. Glad he is back! I am very s...

I would never think this song was from the 70s! I thought it was made much later then that. I remember several years ago when we were in the USA I was singing on one private party and there was Tony Harnel - the lead singer of TNT, and he was singing this song there and I was singing back vocals for him. Not sure how he is connected to Boston band, maybe he was one of the members there before or just he decided to sing this popular song.
