Small Feywild Clearing

Sometimes you just need a space where your players can have an encounter but you don't wanna give them too much space. In this case, our party of heroes is trekking through a dangerous and overgrown Forest. Here they will make their first encounter Flail Snails! This also does a great job to serve as a fey crossing. The map is 17x17 so fairly compact, with enough room in the brush for GM notes. Morning and night versions to follow!

I hope you enjoy the map and as always feel free to leave a comment, request, or suggestion!

4th of July Captain America Memorial Map

Hey everyone!

For the 4th, I ran a one-shot that had my players turn giant eagle statues into live mounts. They had an aerial battle that involved shooting fireworks at opponents while zooming around a memorial dedicated to Captain Merica. Naturally flight speeds of giant eagles dictate a larger map requirement so this one is 50x50. I made both a day and night version although our game used the night one so fireworks were more visible.

P.S. I made the fountain Mountain Dew Baja  Blast that healed for 2d4 hp.

I hope you enjoy the map and as always feel free to leave a comment, request or suggestion!

Ice Rink Map

I made a second map for my one-shot to save the dwarves trapped in the caved in mine. Here was the finale map where my party would find the last survivors badly injured and unable to escape without help. The dwarves were hiding here among the rubble to avoid falling prey to the monster of this adventure...a Remorhaz!

I had the party enter the map by sliding down a tunnel left by the remorhaz. Once in the room and the party began saving the dwarves the monster showed up to feast, and the battle ensued.

I added a fun mechanic to this fight. The floor here wasn't solid. Instead it was a sheet of ice a few feet thick that layed about 20' above the real floor. The stairs continued downward through the ice to reveal a tomb. As the fight progressed and the remorhaz burrowed around it would weaken the floor and increase the likely hood our heroes would fall.

I have included 2 tokens for the icy holes left by my burrowing remorhaz. The .zip folder contains them as well as grid, grid-less, and outline only versions of the map.

I hope you enjoy the map and as always feel free to leave a comment, request or suggestion!

Ice Bridge Map

Its been a while since I have uploaded a new map. Campaign ended, pen (stylus) broke, and I decided to focus on school and work a little more. Excuses aside, I am pleased to announce I am back with a new map. Created for a one-shot where my players had to trek out and save a group of dwarves who were trapped in a mine that caved in.

On of the first challenges they would face is this chasm whose rope bridge had frozen over crating a slippery and difficult terrain. To make matters worse I threw in a few yetis on each end of the chasm while the party was crossing! Turned out to be a fun encounter. A few close calls but no one fell into the void.

The .zip file contains grid and grid-less versions as well as just the outline in case you would like to recolor!

I hope you enjoy the map and as always feel free to leave a comment, request or suggestion!

Holiday Map Assets

I thought it would be nice to share some holiday-themed map assets. Usually, around this time of year our group gets into some fun seasonal one-shots. They have gone full RP and take part in various activities form carnival games to drinking contests. I have even thrown them into party-induced hallucinatory trips where they find themselves in the Feywilds in a life or death battle against a T-Rex sized turkey abomination, themed after that nasty guy in Thankskilling...yeah we went there!

Hopefully, these assets come in handy as you build out your maps this holiday season. As always let me know what you think and if you have any suggestions or requests! Enjoy!!!

Pillars & Waterfalls Map

Hey everyone I wanted to share this map! I wanted to create a dynamic battlefield with some vertical elements. In our home game my party was ambush by a small flock of griffons. The initial encounter was pretty quick as the creatures used dive-bomb snatching tactics. The griffons were able to pick away party member but the rest of the party proved too much of a hassle to continue and so the flock retreated with their one catch. The party quickly gave chase in order to save their friend and tracked the griffons to their home...this map.

Making the map I envisioned a rock chasm where the players would find them one side. They would have to climb down, weave between 20+ ft pillars, cross streams, and climb back up on the other side. Perhaps the players could devise a way to hopscotch from pillar top to pillar top. Either way they would be vulnerable as I had the Griffons nests perches atop several pillars. This made for a great and fun idea having the griffons swoop down between pillars, attack and go back to perch.

My players in this case were able to charm the alpha griffon and strike a deal. The did eventually end up brutally killing the griffons but that was much later on a different map. Unfortunately I didn't save the line-art version of this map so I included a black & white version.

I hope you enjoy the map and as always feel free to leave a comment, request or suggestion!

Swamp Map

I love swamps. They're spooky, treacherous, and all-around a pain for parties to move through. There weren't enough open encounter battle maps set in swamps for me, so I created this one.

Here was the first time my party encountered a batty old Hag. Surprisingly enough they didn't end up fighting her the first time around. Usually killing it is their first move, as they are a pack of classic Murder-Hobos. In this case, they encountered the hag trudging through the swap barking orders at a few dryads. She had the dryads hauling a large wooden box across the swamp. It just so happened that the box held a captive Grung, whom the party would later be tasked to find.

Eventually, after receiving the quest, the party thought there was something suspicious going on after all. They returned to find the hag and without fail launched an assault. The tactics I used for this fight were to have the dryads spread out and attack the party while continually stepping from bush to bush. Once a player closed on the hag she retreated to the water and hid her self in its murky depths until she could pounce. The water channels I flavored were deep enough to require players to swim which made the fight a challenge.

This map was actually used as a pre-cursory battle to the Swamp Hag Lair

Enjoy the map and as always feel free to leave a comment, request or suggestion!

Swamp Hag Lair

This map is great for simple swamp encounters. My party used this in as a final showdown where the attempted to save a young Grung from the ritual sacrifice of a Hag as part of her wedding ceremony to a troll!

This map was fun because the central hag lair is a large tree stump. I flavored it as being covered with thatch and thorny swamp bushes for a roof, there was only one entrance to the lair.

The members of the party had to stealthy wade through waist-deep water channels. I had the more noticeably shallower channels set as difficult terrain as the mud there was thick and sucked their boots in!

I played my tactic here was to separate the party members all around the lair so the troll could attack them individually while using the large central tree stump as cover from the other party members.

Again I have provided a color version as well as the outline only version which you can color however you like. I hope you have as much fun with this as my group did! If you have any suggestions or request please don't hesitate to message me!

Raptor Hunt Battle Map

As my first post and sort of a test...Here is a fun battle map designed around a tall-grass encounter. I used the dark green grass in the middle as tall grass 5ft high that was so thick it was difficult terrain. Players and creatures had advantage when trying to hide in this grass. This was a fun encounter as I had a squad of raptors drive the players into the grass and ambush them there.

It's worth noting I didn't make the tall grass difficult terrain for the raptors as I figured they purposely use this as a hunting ground. They crouch and run through the grass pounce their prey and if unable to kill the run into the grass again.

There were a number of "safe spots" around the map. The players could hide in perimeter clearings or atop large rocks and ruins. I flavored the structure here as a completely ruined mill which only the base was left. The top of the base stands 5ft tall also and provides the perfect spot for the party to band together and hold off a relentless assault of hungry raptors jumping and attacking from all sides.

I have provided a color version as well as the outline only version which you can color however you like. I hope you have as much fun with this as my group did! Enjoy!
