"LOOSE PARTS" sketch + NDK commissions

Samus Redux - lineart

I wasn't happy with how Samus was turning out, so I decided when I got back from NDK I would give her another go. Here is the lineart for the new version. I'm much happier with her! My plan is to get to about where I was with the old one in terms of completion and stream the rest this weekend. I am going to have to move my stream to Sunday though, as I had previous engagements I can't move around. See you then!

Skullgirls - Big Band's "Overblow" + Announcement

Hi everyone! Sorry i've been so quiet this month. Nan Desu Kan, Denver CO's anime convention, is right around the corner! I've been busy all month making new products for it. I leave next Thursday morning and get back Monday. After that, I'll begin posting and streaming like normal again. Next month is double the streams because I'll be painting both August and September's Patron Pick Poll winners!

Dandy & Adelie [lines]

Cleaned up character line for Dandy & Adelie. I don't clean the background for this because I am going to rely more on my painting for that. But I wanted to give Dandy & Adelie a more graphic style so they get nice clean lines and a graphic outline. And in the distance will be plenty of colorful spacescape!

But as the last few votes trickled in, the Ghibli angel silently edged her way to the top as other voters damaged more popular picks with last place votes. Inami Mahiru sketches

I love Working!/Wagnaria!, especially Inami. I am thinking about doing a Working! print with Inami as the centerpiece, so I wanted to sketch her. I still don't have a print idea yet, but I thought I'd share these sketches, with cameos by Takanashi and Popura.

Clouds: Brushes & reference

One of my favorite things to paint is clouds. So for my first resources post I thought I would share my cloud brushes and some photos of clouds I have taken!

The sketch above was done with only the cloud brushes that I am sharing! 7 brushes are included - 3 that were made with textures I found, 3 that I created from my own photos, and one that can be made with Photoshop's default "Soft Round", tailored for smooth, softened areas of clouds.

Remember this sketch? I wanted to lay some simple color on it but ended up fully rendering it. 

Now that i've got this out of the way, tomorrow I'll be creating a quick demo painting of a cloud to go along with the brush tools i'll be sharing for my first Patron post for passing my $750 goal!

Animation! Kicking up water - where does it go?

Hello $10+ patrons! It's time for another piece of animation. I wrote a bit about water animation below to go with it. I also included the full video, the test and the source file. I hope you enjoyed this, and if you do, please let me know!

Water is an interesting thing to animate. A liquid that we come in to contact with every day, but don't think much about. As an animator, the task of conquering water in 2D is a challenging one. Water gets all over the place, and when it splashes...
