Draeneth - Battlemage

Another design for Draeneth / Altneth on Twitter! This one a bit more classical/fantasy for a mage striding into battle.

Fell into a depression pit for a bit there, so this one took me a little longer. But I'm extremely proud of where it landed once I was back on my feet. CANINES! I get to draw them so rarely for people. I know people like to ask me for reptiles and dragons, sometimes bugs, but getting to do fur is such a nice change of pace sometimes, like here. Had a blast with this pose, especially. Need to do a few more dynamic poses and maybe some fur studies, though!

I'm really, really happy with some of my blending in this one. I think I finally figured out some sensitivity and brushwork to try to make things feel more alive in spots. Still need to work on when to use opaque versus transparent, of course, but one step closer.
