Since January 20th, AniPlaylist's Spotify account has been suspended by Spotify. The profile is still visible, and you can still follow playlists, however I am currently unable to update any playlist on the account.

What a weird month, which started with ~20 songs and albums being locked or removed from Spotify out of the blue. The only guess we can make is that all of these albums were deals signed between Spotify & the record labels that did not get renewed after their expiration.
But to balance all of this, we got some quality soundtracks added : Free!, TenSura, Akudama Drive and... the long awaited Naruto,...
One of the great news of August was Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Blu-ray exclusive soundtracks being added on Spotify. This was quite unexpected since we usually don't get anything that is sold as a Blu-ray bonus.
Speaking of things we don't usually get, a new Aniplex album was released, it was none other than the soundtrack for SK∞ the Infinity anime, which aired last winter.

I have two highlights I need to mention this month!
First was Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid OST and other albums being released along with the 2nd season's OP & ED. It is such a joy finally being able to see Kyoto Animation's work on TV again, exactly two years after the arson attack that made the news all around the world.

The last month of the season usually means a lot of OST being released, and June delivered, with no less than 30 albums added to Spotify.

April being the first month of Spring 2021, it followed the trend of record labels releasing songs immediatly after the anime starts airing. There were almost 100 songs released from new shows just over this month alone!
The much anticipated Jujutsu Kaisen OST was released and removed within a couple of days in North America, Europe & Oceania, in order to be fixed as some tracks were mislabeled or shifted.

Winter 2021 was a great season, I don't think I have ever loved that much anime in a single season. I will miss Wonder Egg Priority, Mushoku Tensei, SK8, Jujutsu Kaisen and of course Attack on Titan (see you in 2022).

2021 has just started, and it's already trying to compete with the incredible releases we had during 2020.
In just one month we can already count more than 80 songs & albums from anime or movies airing this season. We also got long awaited soundtracks such as Persona games & Rebuild of Evangelion!
2020 was a crazy year for anime music on streaming platforms, and December was probably the best way we could have ended this year: Sony music unlocked hundreds of anime songs on Spotify.
