The tail detail indicates which end is which of the parasite so that you don't get confused when I draw one tip only or the other. This may seem like common sense but the required visual information is only half of the equation to art. The other half is enhancement to make you like the art. The parasite crawling through the window is an analogy foreshadowing what it will do to the woman. You get a sense for how it moves so that you anticipate what it will to to her. This clears up some confusion for when the action starts.

I'm still trying to find a good balance between character detail and background detail. I think it might depend on if it's a comic or an animation. For comics I create a bigger difference because it's harder to seperate the two in a static image.

I made these cabinets and drawers from scratch.  This is the level of detail I want in the end.  However my computer cannot really handle this amount of geometry.  I'm going to have to make it less detailed until I can figure out how to optimize performance while retaining this quality.

Behind the Scenes - Rough Draft 1

This is the first stage of sketching a comic, the rough draft.  Here I weigh what elements need to be highlighted and how in order to help the story be told.  Sometimes I want to tell more of the story and 8 panels are not enough.  For example, in the right-bottom panel the creature's mouth is limp.  But if it's not easy to see that, I would color the inside of the mouth different from the outside or something, so that it's easier to know what is happening.  Here I also ...
