Colin Instrumental Demo : 'Sexy Groovy' (Inspiration For Close Your Eyes To See)

This shit had me cackling so hard when I found it. This was another one of the 20 plus instrumentals I made back in 2006ish right before we made On Letting Go. 

As you can immediately tell this is where I originally placed the vocoder piece that eventually landed on "All Your Friends Are Gone". You will also hear some horrendous drumming ony part and some completely nonsensical chorus ideas. Like literally what is even happening there in that last part of the progression? Holy Hell...

Jimi Forever 💔

Some of you probably saw on my socials that we had to say goodbye to Jimi the other night. Honestly it’s so difficult to even write anything at the moment. The pain is still so sharp it cuts my breath short and I have to pause between each word I type.

We are shattered. We will be ok but right now this reality feels devastating. I will be writing a lot about it at some point soon but I’m trying to just focus on grieving and being here to support Sarah and Jimi’s brother Duckie....

This is technically Creature Cast 12 as far as releases go but the one we will release next week was recorded before this one so that's why this is getting called 13. Anyways, here's a little lesson and information about the opening guitar lead for the song Living Together. I discuss Unison bends and then eventually get around to showing you how to play the riff. It's crazy how different 9 gauge strings feel after playing 11's for the past 20 years. It's way easier to actually bend and play quickly but also so much easier to bend past a pitch if you're not use to that gauge. I was obsessed with Turn On The Bright Lights around the time our band formed.
