Caledon entered the room, seeing Viveria languidly speaking with Vale, who was fighting to keep awake. The skeletons stood outside their room, watching him in silence.

“Cally, you’re finally back! Where did you run off to?”

B2 Chapter 3: Nostalgia

Caledon and Vale spoke as they gazed up at the Dawntree above them. They exchanged passing comments about Highlady Solastra’s domain. Throughout their conversation, Caledon delicately tried to probe the girl’s origin, which noble house she hailed from. Vale deftly avoided his questions, until he could bear it no longer.

“If I may be so rude to ask, which family do you hail from? What brings you to the Dreadwood?”

“Silas, thank Avalkin, there you are! I’ve been looking all over for you.”

Caledon approached his trusty butler with relief. The sight of Silas filled him with happiness, and he broke out into wide smile. After the strange encounter with the noble, seeing a familiar face had been just what he needed. He walked into one of the mansion’s many rooms – this one housing his family’s belongings.

Caledon Brimstone watched entranced, as the nobles around him danced and reveled. He smiled at the sight, raising a cup to his lips that he only just realised he held in his hand. He drank deeply from the golden liquid in his cup, enjoying the melding of sweetness and spice.

Highlady Solastra Flora’s mansion was a mansion only in name. Situated in the city of Viridian, at the heart of the Dreadwood, it was surrounded by the Highlady’s personal gardens.

Hi all!

The writing has been more fruitful than expected, so there won't be a break for Patrons.

The release schedule for book 2 will be Wed - Fri - Sun.

I hope you enjoyed the end to my very first story, it was a blast to write and I can't wait to share more with you soon.
