[NR] Making A Path - Chapter 722

Jason nods, now it is time to do a little earth moving. Right now, if he just flattened things all it would result in is the area being a bit below ground level. Which to a point, is his goal, but more sculpted.

His plan wasn’t anything complex. Jason simply dug a narrow pit along the edges of the tilled soil with his hand. A coating of Energy protected said hand as he shoved his arm down until about a finger’s length into soil that hadn’t been “bloomed”. Once that is done, it...

[SD:DD] Smashing Pots - Chapter 6

The others all form a chain behind Gem, wind less able to blow Gem around with their high resistance. Which turns out to be a prescient move as the storm gets worse with winds whipping past them and shifting around. As they reach the forth wall, Samuel stops the others and raises a good point.

Though of course with the wind, Samuel needs to yell at this point, just to be heard. “WHAT IF THIS IS BECAUSE WE’RE GOING DEEPER INTO THE RUINS?”

A good point and the others all nod. ...

[D'sP] Stratus Cloud - Chapter 461

Doyle took a moment, which is extra subjective when in the timeless void, all to make sure this soul of a goat was truly a goat soul. It was. Best guess was that the soul core had been previously in the void long enough to lose any tendencies and then ended up in a regular goat.

Not perfect, but close enough.

Doyle grabbed the goat soul and retracted into his dungeon, the soul core squeezing through the dimensional border and scraping off some of the residue left over from their l...

[D'sP] What The Fire Doin' - Chapter 460

Doyle fell back and let his mind spread out once again, taking in the elemental realms. Fire, water, earth, air, wood, metal, and so many more. Especially if you counted the realms between realms such as ash between fire and wood or vapor between water and air.

Nevermind the intricacies where vapor can have steam, mist, fog, or clouds while between fire and water there might be a realm of steam. Or how earth had metals and then you bring up where the metal mercury goes. Which the answer...

Spiral horns covered in the magical metal, mithril. That buttery silver metal of myth, most magical and light in ways mortal metal can’t be. Capable of transferring power in quantities other metals can’t compare to, though it is Mana specifically which to the delvers above might as well have no limit in throughput.

These horn covers poke through a purple-black bronze alloy helm. Though it doesn’t end there. The armor flows down their body like a breeze. While not completely coveri...

[NR] Working On The Path - Chapter 721

A few nights later, Rosha and Courtney are once again sat by the fire.

Rosha stares up at the ever changing sky. “The world is going to get strange.”

Courtney shrugs, “For the better if we manage it right. Besides, what is ‘strange’ in the first place? We have full dive VR, which would be seen as strange if not impossible in the past. The fall happened and yet strangely enough, through hard work and suffering, we managed to rise up better than ever. It isn’t perfect, b...

Courtney and Rosha catch Jason next time they see him, and Courtney is the one to ask. “We’ve been wondering about something. As it stands, no matter my training, I can’t stand up to others in my field, let alone those more specialized in information gathering or making a deal.

“Without the ability to at least hold my own, we aren’t going to be in the best position. Will cultivation help me be better at planning and plotting?”

Jason shrugs, “In the short term. You’...

[SD:DD] Into The Storm - Chapter 5

Samuel’s sword flourishes, knocking aside the lightning fast jab of the scorpion’s sting. A move that distracts the monsters from what turns out to be the real danger. The shield bash that shatters the lead claw. Though the quick kick to the face certainly didn’t feel too good either.

Gem laughs at this as they continue to fire off wind spears at the charging swarm. None quite as successful as that first, focus more on speed instead of charging up a shot. They can’t keep them al...

Author's Note: Visiting family next week, so might have late chapters

I am going to be visiting family. In fact, my sister kindly paid for a plane ticket so I can be out there with her and visit my grandmother who just turned 100 this year. I will be flying out on the 19th and flying back on the 23rd. Not that I wouldn't have gone without the ticket, it would just have been a 12 hour drive. As I will be needing to get up early to catch my flight, even the Friday D'sP chapters might be late as I'll be getting to bed a lot earlier than usual.

[D'sP] No Goat Shoes - Chapter 458

Doyle already had metal horn coverings. Those would not work even if worked from mithril. Now, admittedly, such a piece would still be better for the cyclone goat’s and their Spiral Blast skill. Not because it would empower the skill, but rather because the skill would pass through the armor with little interference.

In other words, not better than just using the skill. However, they would get to wear armor. Which, if given a choice to wear armor without being negatively affected, tak...

[NR] Compared To Chess - Chapter 719

Over the following nights, Rosha and Courtney made a habit of ending the night sitting next to each other by the fire. There was always something new to see, at least there was if they looked deeper in. What stars could be seen changed night to night. Never the same twice, even if they occasionally spotted groupings of stars that seemed familiar.

Rosha, “Is it the same sky, mixed up or entirely new skies?”

Courtney looked up, “Probably both. The areas near the settlement are...

Jason ended up having to delay his horticultural ambitions, at least for the moment. The girls convinced him that the road should come first. After all, if he was going to be regularly hauling plants back and forth, making that an easy task was a priority. More specifically, when they found out he would want to be dragging them there and back in the same day and eventually multiple times a week? Yeah, they set their foot down.

And of course, it fell on Jason to build said road. Or rathe...

[SD:DD] That's Neat, Moving On - Chapter 4

The group as a whole are a little out of sorts and so they quickly buy the ritual spells Gem had picked out. June received “Potable Water Creation” for 10 ap, the most expensive one by far. Samuel gladly bought “Compact Soil and Sand” for 5 ap. Though Gem lobbied for him to get the more generic “Compact Earth” version for 8 ap since they had the money for it now.

Emrys picked up “Campfire Spark”, which was no longer the cheapest spell, for 1 ap and 150 gp. While Gem glad...

With the threat of a bunch of desert critters being active and the dead walking, Gem had expected the guild to be active, hopping, bursting at the seams with opportunists looking for a quick buck. After all, what better time to find rare monsters, explore new areas, and generally get a lot of adventuring done.

Though they also reserved the slight chance that the guild would be mostly empty. People having had the chance to pick up quests and get to it. Nope.

[D'sP] The Basic Beasts - Chapter 457

Satisfied that he knew how the raid boss thing worked, Doyle turned back to populating the normal monsters of the floor. Most expensive and already planned was the windbreakers. They would be positioned at the very start and there wouldn’t be too many.

Doyle began to place down individual birds. Spacing them out so they aren’t grouped up. His reasoning being that delvers would be less likely to hunt them all down if they have to seek the axebeaks out. This ended up with 14 birds, re...

Ally shrugs, ‘I think you should try a patch or two of bramble, anyway. You’ve got basically an area that has grown wild. The trees are too far apart to be a forest. That tall grass is spaced out more like fields. Then you add in boulders?

‘Might as well make them walls of stacked rocks and square up the grass a little. Then you would have a land conquered by monsters. Left long enough that much of the original civilization has weathered away, but bits still poke through.’

Jason kept poking the blossoms with his cultivation, feeling the lack of any form of spiritual or “divine” sense. Because while what he found wasn’t Energy, he wouldn’t blame those unfamiliar thinking it was. The power he felt within the blossoms wasn’t really a power in and of itself, but rather feeling like a collection of puzzle pieces half assembled.

Except like one of those pictures where you could see a vase or a pair of faces, the pieces were close to being either Mana ...

Not many rules on what you can suggest at the moment. That will mostly be figured out as we go. Besides that, the short story will come out before the end of the next month.

Doyle pondered the 20th floor. An important number, it represented so much for him. His survival? Eh, it wasn’t as in doubt as it might have felt at points. For it to flourish so much? Go so far? Well, that was an entirely different matter and a lot of it wasn’t in his non-existent hands.

Ace and the others? Doyle had to admit that their taking over continues to be a great boon to him. An orderly town is the best setting for a dungeon among humans. Not only does that mean people wil...
