As expected December has been awfully busy, but that doesn't mean I've been twiddling my thumbs. Here are some drawings and WIPs from the month in advance.

FOTM December - Wapeach (Super Mario Bros.)

Easiest "flavor of the month"-illustration to think about for the year. The moment I got linked the scrapped designs of the character who was supposed to appear in Mario Tennis, I just knew that people will lose their minds about her. Either internet has become predictable or I've gained a sixth sense for these things of things when I've drawn these for two years now.

Who knows what sort of things we'll see next year? Kinda exciting to think about.

This year has been great for video games. Here are few characters from games released this year or games I've played this year and liked.

Pizza Box December

Freshly baked drawings on a pizza box. This time most of the patrons could chime in, resulting in robust results.
Thanks for everyone, both old and new for this pleasant year. My Patreon isn't super active outside of the few perks, so I am very thankful for all the support I've gotten. This way I can take less commission work and draw more of the things I personally like.

FOTM November: Half-Life

Half-Life had its 25th Anniversary which Valve celebrated with an update, new multiplayer stuff, document and probably other things. Pretty good contender for the theme.

Interestingly enough, another game which revolutionized the gaming world also celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, and it's The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Lahja Lap

Recent full resolution version of Lahja and an alternate version I didn't end up using. Drawing basically the same picture twice on paper felt weird.

For no specific reasons some sketches of the characters from Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, shortly known as 999. One of my favorite story-driven games. Good character designs with distinct silhouettes.

No scanned pictures, just photos, the torn paper adds to the charm I swear.

Final Fantasy VII Portraits

Some time ago I played FFVII again, this time with some mods, including one which replaced the character portraits. Watercolor practices

Lately I've been interested coloring in more of a watercolory style. Here are some fruits of my labor. I think it's a natural progression to the literal one copic-marker tool I use mostly, but I won't abandon it.

FOTM October: The Amazing Digital Circus

I almost didn't have any idea what the Flavor of the Month was going to be this time, that is until the pilot episode of The Amazing Digital Circus was released, thank goodness.

I watched the episode to see what's the fuss about and it was entertaining. Dragged a bit in the beginning, but I enjoyed it. Kinger was my favorite, every scene with him was a riot.

Inu-Oh & Mad God

I don't have any good sketches from last month to upload, so I'll make it up by drawing art from movies I've seen this month. Both drawn with an ink brush pen friend brought from Japan.

Final Fantasy Sales Height Chart

Heroines of Final Fantasy-series, but their height correlates with the sales of their respective game.
Very fun project and a good excuse to draw each one of them.

Lotta Svärd Chapter 26 Alt Cover

This time around the chapter didn't have just one, but TWO cover variants. Two first are basically the same scene from a different angle. Last one makes Helle look like she's dead, so I ditched that one.

People Portraits

Some time ago I bought this cute, very tiny sketchbook (Asirpa keychain for scale). I am planning to fill it entirely with portraits I draw from reference using SketchDaily and other image banks, or just draw a character from imagination I think would look cool.

"Sameface" is a thing a lot of artists with recognizable style suffer. I want to practice drawing distinct enough people even if it means exaggerating some...

Pizza Box October

The empty box I had was so greasy I refuse to draw on it, so this time the drawings are drawn here and there to previous boxes with empty space, so no full piece this time around, sorry. I'm running out of boxes so I gotta buy a pizza in the upcoming month.
