This one is gonna be tricky to do in black and white! And just in general. I usually just do a couple sketches of the monsters before I move them to the comics but this guy is gonna need a bit more than that.
It's like, a burned up skeleton inside of fire that also looks like hands. When it's standing still it looks pretty good but in those action shots it's gonna be tough!

I wasn't planning on having a Robert flashback in the most recent The Last Halloween update, but I'd drawn these, anyway! Then when it came time to draw the flashback I was suddenly just terrible at it, haha. It took me forever to get those drawings looking good. Shouldn't have used up all my juice on these rad sketches.
Eugene's appearance is based on a self portrait of his, I could barely find any good pictures of him!

The insects are actually barely an issue in Seattle, the only place I have ever found that to be true! I can sit in the grass without fear of yellow jackets or ants or chiggers. Truly, it is an eden.

This was actually the first sketch of the character who would come to be called Mona, before I even knew what The Last Halloween was gonna be about! I hadn't realized how much the monster had changed since then, but it has changed a lot. I like the button eyes... but it makes the monster a bit less human and easy to understand. It's hard enough as it is trying to interpret what it's doing!

I was in Vancouver for Vancaf recently and it seemed like every human being in that city had a cute dog, and I shamelessly checked out every cute dog that waddled into my view.
I'm in Montreal now and there are decidedly fewer dogs, but I have met 2 new cats so it evens out. I hope you folks are having a lovely time, and you're great!
